Shawn Casey was a 1987 graduate of Wyoming Area. After graduating with high marks, he began his studies at Wilkes University. Through these studies he realized his dream of practicing dentistry in the Wyoming Valley, which he pursued at the University of Pittsburgh dental school. In 1994, after being licensed by the state, Dr. Casey opened a solo Dental practice.

Dr. Meredith Lacey is originally from the Wyoming Valley, graduating from Dallas High School in 2004 as her class valedictorian. She further pursued academics at Virginia Tech, earning her B.S. in Biology and graduating summa cum laude and member of Phi Beta Kappa.

Dr. Laceys interest in dentistry emerged early on, but the decision to pursue a career in dentistry was confirmed after shadowing several dentists. These experiences made her realize what a special healthcare field dentistry is, combining science and creativity.

Dr. Lacey then attended The University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine, graduating in 2012 in the top ten percent of her class. To continue developing her newfound skill, Dr. Lacey completed her General Practice Residency at Lehigh Valley Health Network in 2013 and has been practicing general dentistry ever since.

She is very excited to be back in the Wyoming Valley, to serve the community that raised her. In her free time, Dr. Lacey enjoys spending time with her husband, Philip, and children, Emerson and Eliza.

Born and raised in Staten Island, Dr. Gerard T. Genco comes from a family of dentists which include his father, two uncles, a brother, and four first cousins. He earned his Bachelor degree of Science from the University of Scranton in 1990, and a Doctor of Dental Medicine degree in 1997 from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (now called Rutgers Dental School). After which, he completed a one year general practice residency at John F. Kennedy Hospital in 1998. In the spring of 2008, he completed a mini-residency in advanced dental implant training at The Dental Implant Learning Center at Englewood Dental.

This review is for Casey Orthodontics, not the dental department. They are very nice at the beginning, but once you're stuck with them under a braces service and sign that contract, they are RUDE to you under the phone and personally as well. They never have availability, if you brake a bracket or they leave a wire too long, once you call, they tell you all doctors are either out or they don't have time for you. Doctor Kerr is very nice though. But the staff is very cold and rude to the patients (except the nice bilingual lady at the front desk). I do Not recommend this place at all.

My daughters have been seen 4 times total. And only 1 time we left feeling okay... My 7 year old daughter had to go in by herself for a cleaning and a filling. They ended up pulling a tooth without even mentioning it me, my daughter came out crying and had a look of terror still on her face. The most recent time her step dad brought her, and they were sent home and told they couldn't see her after taking off of work and school bc they needed a consent form. Which I get, but he's also brought her there before with no issues. You figure they would mention it if it was an issue. And on top of it no adult is allowed in with them. Her step dad can't take her to her appointment but you're allowed to pull out a tooth without consenting a parent? That makes sense.

I had a tooth pulled last Thursday. It went perfectly. Little to no pain in the days after. I think you guys did a fantastic job. I wanted to express my gratitude. Thank you.

We loved it here until they told me my 5 year old had cavities. They don't allow parents to accompany kids over 3, which was uncomfortable at first but my daughter agreed to it and she came back happy. After our last visit they told me she had cavities and explained how they fix them, which includes nitrous oxide. I asked if they would allow a parent to accompany her during the procedure and was told no. After a few more questions, I left feeling like I was the crazy one. After speaking with other parents and providers, I was assured that I'm not the crazy one. I called and asked if they would reconsider a parent being present. Once again, I was told no. I'm not thrilled about having to find dental care elsewhere since my daughter was so happy here but, Covid or not, drugging a kid without a parent present is absurd.

I can only say what a wonderful experience I have each and every time I go to there office for work. Shaun Casey is the best dentist I have ever had and my hygienist, Amy...is so good it is a joy to get my teeth clean. I am 72 years of age and have been to many offices in all these years and this one is the best ever and I have been coming here for many years.

Dr. Casey has been my dentist for about 30 years now. If you need a dentist, he is the one you need to call. Great guy, excellent dentist!

This is the preferred provider for dental services in the Greater Pittston Area and probably even a wider geography. The office is extremely efficient, very clean and professional. The providers have each patient's best whole health in mind, not just a focus on their dental issues of the moment. All visits, even minor, start with a history review. All questions are completely answered. I'm very aware of my dental health and care on a daily basis, but the minute I have a need other than a routine cleaning, it's great to have a trusted dentist available. Definitely recommend for all ages.

I live in Florida, but still visit Casey Dental. The staff accommodates me on getting me in for a check up and cleaning in a few days notice. I am grateful.

Honestly I have to say this place is absolutely amazing!! I wish I could give 100 stars because the staff, the facility itself, and just everyone all around was so great. They are super clean, accommodating, kind, friendly, welcoming, and so gentle with children. They literally made my kids feel so comfortable. My kids were not scared at all when they had to have their teeth extracted. Of course I was extremely nervous about having my 4 & 5 year old under general anesthesia but they put my mind at ease and reassured me my children would be safe and taken care of and receive the utmost professional care. I cannot thank Casey dental enough for making the procedures my children had feel like just taking a nap. They also checked in the next day to make sure they were doing alright. I would highly recommend them to anyone! Casey dental really is the best place to have your children be taken care of for any oral treatment!!

My son has autism and we have been using Casey Dental. I recommend their special needs department to any person that is looking for a patient dentist. His dental tech this morning was so lovely and kind, she went thru every tool first and let him feel it and explained what it did. She may go thru her day thinking she just did her job, but to me, she helped my sons dental fears.
