Huda Albather, DDS, MDS, MPH, is a leading periodontist in the Bellevue, Washington area. A graduate of the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine, she has a bachelors degree in periodontics and dental implants and a masters degree in dental science. She also has a masters degree in public health from the University of Pittsburgh School of Public Health.
Dr. Albather brings more than 18 years of experience to Cascadia Dental Specialists, where she currently leads the practice alongside Dr. Jamshid Faghih. Dr. Albather demonstrates her dedication to giving her patients the best care available by constantly keeping up to date with the latest dental technology, advances, and techniques.
In 2000, after completing a five-month dental implants study, Dr. Albather received a certificate in dental implants from the Misch Implant Institute in Chicago, Illinois. She went on to receive a diplomat degree from the International Congress of Oral Implantology, where she remains a member today. As an active member of the Washington State Society of Periodontists, she became their treasurer in 2008, their vice president in 2010, and their president later in 2010. Dr. Arundhati Sengupta has extensive training in dental implant surgery, bone grafting, periodontal aesthetic surgery, and treatment of advanced periodontal disease. Her professional training spans over 12 years of clinical and educational experience in various fields of dentistry with a specialization in periodontics from the University of Washington School of Dentistry.
Dr. Sengupta is a member of the American Academy of Periodontology, the American Dental Association, Washington State Society of Periodontists, Washington State Dental Association, and Seattle King County Dental Society. She is currently an Affiliate Associate Professor at the University of Washington School of Dentistry. Dr. Sengupta is skilled in all periodontal procedures and has vast clinical experience. Her passion includes working with the latest techniques and materials emerging in different fields of periodontics.
In addition to her periodontal expertise, Dr. Sengupta is certified in intravenous sedation. She also has background knowledge and clinical experience with many cases in different areas of restorative dentistry, endodontics, and aesthetic dentistry. Her versatile clinical experience enables her to approach each case with a comprehensive view of treatment.
Dr. Senguptas experience and expertise empower her to drive a practice philosophy grounded in knowledge, skill, and personal relationships with her patients. VELscope is a technology platform that detects irregularities, abnormalities, and changes in human tissue fluorescence that could point to oral cancers. A safe, blue light shines into the oral cavity and causes the tissue to fluoresce. This helps us to differentiate what is healthy tissue and what could be abnormal oral mucosal lesions based on the difference in appearance.
Intraoral X-rays are the most common dental X-rays and are taken with the X-ray film on the inside of the mouth. Bite-wing X-rays show the top and bottom teeth, their crown, and the level of supporting bone in one area of the mouth; periapical X-rays show the whole tooth from crown to beyond the root; and occlusal X-rays track the placement of a complete arch of teeth in the upper or lower jaw.
