At Casa Smiles, its a team effort with one shared goal: creating and preserving healthy habits from a very young age through adolescence. Our doctors have been specially trained to work with children and understand the unique needs of young patients. Plus, having an orthodontist working alongside a pediatric dentist makes it easier to catch issues early on and plan ahead.
Becoming a dentist was always part of the plan for Dr. Abreu-Hernandez. She graduated from FIU with a major in chemistry and minor in psychology and then went on to dental school at the University of Florida. What she hadnt expected was to discover a passion and determination for the pediatric side. During her time at dental school, Maigrely had the opportunity to participate in several mission trips to Haiti and the Dominican Republic. Thats when she realized she had a natural gift working with children. With her newly-declared specialty and new-found passion as her guide, she then completed her residency at the University of Florida and began practicing in Miami shortly thereafter. Maigrely loves to read books, go the beach, and spend time with her husband. When shes not trying to get that winning smile from her patients, you can find her out on the bay on her paddle board, or practicing her golf swing on the putting green.
Generations have been visiting Dr. Llamas for over 35 years, since he first established his practice. In fact, some of his first patients are now bringing their own children for treatment. He has always had a knack for making young people feel comfortable and relaxed, all the while earning the trust of the parents with his knowledge and expertise. Luis has recently become a first-time grandparent. His family a wife, two sons and a beautiful granddaughter, are his pride and joy. (although, hes been known to be just as enthusiastic about football). Outside of the office, you can usually find him with a fishing rod in-hand and smile on his face.
For Dr. Iwanowski, nothing is more rewarding than watching a young persons confidence blossom before her eyes. After graduating from dental school with a specialty in orthodontics, Muriel began taking more of an interest in evaluating and treating younger patients. She realized that many issues could be easily resolved when detected early on. After 10 years of experience catering to children, she has earned a reputation in Miami as a pediatric specialist in her own right. A mother of three, Muriel enjoys spending time with her family, especially if it means she gets to put on her snow skis. And when the powdery slopes of Vail arent accessible, she spends her free time boating in the warm waters of Miami.

Both the dentist and orthodontics team were great! Answered all of my questions and concerns. Great customer service overall! Huge plus that they are the only pediatric office in Key Biscayne. Made my children feel very comfortable, love this office!

They didn't treat my daughter seriously. They took out her treatment before time, messed up and then asked to do all over. Thanks god I took her to a different dentist and they provided the correct treatment. If you go here, ask for a second opinion before starting or finishing any treatment

Hands down the best children's dental office in Miami. As a proud father of 4, Dr. Abreu-Hernandez and the Casa Smiles team make every visit a memorable one. The office is impeccably clean, professional and extremely FUN for kids and parents too. (Love the iPads) The staff is extremely knowledgeable and always willing to help.The orthodontist office is also wonderful. I have recommended Dr. Abreu-Hernandez and Casa Smiles to family and friends and they have all have thanked me for the referral.

Terrible experience. After waiting for a month for an emergency (!)appointment for a cavity, they switched the purpose of our visit to a cleaning. They refused to have our daughter seen by a doctor, and pushed for a cleaning instead. All the reasons they came up with were ridiculous. It feels like the typical garage business where they pull an extra buck from your pocket by all means, and not the decent office you would expect in Key Biscayne. After the response of the owner: Your polite and diplomatically formulated excuses are not accepted for the following reasons: 1) Our appointment was scheduled for a cavity and not for cleaning. We have never been in the situation of visiting a doctor and being refused the treatment. 2) The appointment was scheduled more than 1 month in advance exactly like all your other patients. 3) Your call to apologize was made proof of the same lack of courtesy for your patients as at the time of your visit. It is true that we are not dentists, hence we have no expertise in the field, but we can tell easily how a cavity looks like. As a result, same day we visited your competition, without an appointment, and confirmed what was clear from our point of view. There is no dentist office I have ever visited and who declined to serve or to be seen by a doctor. Poor practice. Pathetic excuses.

Very bad experience dealing with Insurance and Casa Smiles... Here it goes: At Casa Smiles I was confirmed by staff that procedure was cover at 90% by my insurance, happens it wasn't so ended up 2 months later with a bill to pay from Casa Smiles. I started an appeal through my Insurance which was denied. Long story short I ended up paying that bill. I find this very unprofessional since I was confirmed procedure was 90% covered by insurance to later find out that they had lied to me since insurance company told me they had not received any calls from them on the day of my procedure. What really irritates me is the attitude of Monica (Not sure what her title is at Casa Smiles), this person does not allow you to talk, every time you want to start a sentence she is already cutting you off with an irrelevant reply which makes you notice immediately the lack of customer service and customer appreciation. Very bad service, lack of communication (She said I should have known this!) lack of follow up, no responsibility shown nor empathy. Once again it just shows Customer is valued as money worth and not as a human being, DISAPPOINTING!!!

Best dentist/ortho duo!*****FIVE STARS***** My kiddos see both the dentist & the orthodontist & they both work great! Having both in the same office is so helpful. The office is always clean & the I really enjoy coffee or tea while I'm waiting for the kids. LOVE this place:)

Our experience was great from the start. From the moment I called the young lady that answered not only helped me schedule my appointment right away, but also made some great suggestions about preparing my child for her first visit. Clean, child-friendly office and lovely Doctor and assistant.

Amazing staff! Everyone is so warm and welcoming.Very clean and so convenient with the dentist and orthodontist being at the same place.They're great with my kids and so accommodating with schedules.
