I was pleased with my initial experience. A new dentist had replaced the other and he is polite, kind and caring. My issue was addressed, and I left feeling good. If you are still on the fence about going to the dentist here in Smithville, I highly recommend it.

Terrible customer service. In the past have instead of calling me to pay a balance that I had because of their mistake they sent it to collections effecting my credit negatively. Impossible to get a returned phone call after multiple voicemails. All around very unprofessional

The staff here is phenomenal and so caring. Love getting my teeth cleaned every 3 months. Most dentist only do cleaning every 6 months. I am extremely happy with my dental care and love coming here. Thank you Janet and Candy for making my visit's fun!

Dr. Madison is the best. She is so kind and does excellent work. Definitely hope she stays at Carus forever. Office staff is great as well. I do think they overbook the dentist. I just hope they find her some help so she doesn't get burned out. It would be a shame for that to happen.

Booked in May specifically for Julie to return from maternity leave. Disappointed no one called to say she was not back yet. Alternative hygienist was ok but clearly did not read the chart because I know it states that I only like the manual removal for tarter build up. Dr. Diemer's hygienists always polished last & these new ones do it first--I like it last!!

Some of the best dental care I have ever had. Dr. Nichole Madison was very thorough during my entire procedure and I would recommend her to anyone for oral health care. The support staff is great as well.

Dr. Nicole Madison was all business, she shook my hand but because she wore a mask, didn't come across as warmly as many dentists I have been to in the past. The dental hygienist, was very nice. I hope after I go there more, that they will loosen up somewhat. I realize not everyone is comfortable at the beginning, neither patient nor doctor. Thank you for allowing me to share these thoughts.

This year I moved to La Grange and needed to find a new dentist so I went to Carus Dental in Smithville because they are part of my Ambetter Insurance network. I have seen a dentist every 6 months for my entire life so when Carus Dental told me I had periodontal disease and refused to clean my teeth until I had it treated, I decided to get a second opinion. Happily I found that Hatfield Dental in La Grange and NO, I don't have PD, go figure. SO here's the unbelievable thing, in reviewing my Ambetter charges, I see that Carus charged them $682 (new patient visit & x-rays) and Hatfield charged them $289 (new patient visit, x-rays, cleaning & fluoride). Fortunately for me this was all covered by my dental insurance.

Whoever nominated the 'elevator' music the Smithville location plays needs to take a survey from patients who have to sit through a two hour procedure. There must surely be several better choices.

I went in for a scheduled cleaning and was presented with a bill before services. The total was $106 after factoring my insurance. My insurance pays 100% for all preventative services. I was about to just pay the $106 since I was already there but something told me not to. I told them since the cleaning should've been covered I did not have money on me. After some back and forth about the codes I decided to not have the work done and told them I would reschedule. I called my insurance and provided them with the codes that the office was using. My insurance company confirmed that the codes that the dentist submitted do fall under preventative services and are fully covered. Insurance called the dental office and told them the services were covered and that they would fax the info to them. I'm not sure what was faxed, but the dental office still denied that the codes were covered. I personally wouldn't trust this dental provider. Ever since Dr. Madison took over, this is the second time I've had to question their billing. I have good insurance, which they told me several times in the 2 visits I've had this year. I feel like there's something "off" with their billing so I've decided to take my business elsewhere.

Dr.Kara was a wonderful dentist.Always made me and my family feel comfortable.We have used her for several years. Recently I cracked a tooth and need it pulled after suffering 2 weeks due to my new dental insurance gap.Made a appointment and when I arrive was told Kara was no long there. So had to see Madison . She proceeded to fat shame me . And repeated to state I need to not be snacking and did I know there is acid in energy drinks. And she could let I drink them a lot. I left there in tears. She has terrible bedside. She is very rude. The office manager was very nice and apologetic. She did ask if everything was ok , I let her know I just wanted to pay my bill so I could leave. Me and my family of 4 will never use this location again. We are very saddened with this experience.
