Dr. William Carter Doc is the patriarch of the practice. He graduated from Creighton School of Dentistry in 1970. Dr. Carter has been practicing for over 40 years, 38 of which have been here in Boise in his private practice. Dr. Carter is a Boise native, an alumnus of both Boise State University and University of Idaho. After completing his Doctorate in 1970 he served in the United States Navy. It was during his years in the Navy that he received additional training, especially from his general practice training and in particular Oral Surgery. Dr. Carter has practiced at his current location for 20 years. Dr. Carters longevity can be accredited to his seemingly endless supply of energy. His patients longevity in the practice can be attributed to his charisma. Many patients admire his seasoned career, but Dr. Carter has also kept up to date with the most current dental methods as well as time tested methods. Dr. Carter has four children, three of whom followed his footsteps into Dentistry. A person may find Dr. Carter outside the office spending time with his wife Deborah and grandchildren, golfing, or manning one of his many projects.
Dr. Jason Carter is Dr. William Carters son who graduated from Creighton Dental School. Dr. Carter has been practicing at the family business for 13 years. A Boise native and University of Idaho alumnus as well, the only time Dr. Carter has lived outside the Boise area has been for education. Otherwise, Dr. Carter has been a part of the Idaho community. He became further immersed in rural Idaho when he decided to open a part-time satellite dental practice in Weiser, Idaho, about a decade ago. Wherever Dr. Carter has practiced his livelihood he is considered a friend amongst the patients, personnel and fellow colleagues. In the past decade Dr. Carter has always participated in his continuing education but also takes an entrepreneurial spirit towards the latest dental technologies and techniques. Outside of the office Dr. Carter spends time with his wife Stacy and three children Carly, Zach and Cara, golfing and hunting.
Dr. Elizabeth Carter is Dr. William Carters daughter who also graduated from Creighton Dental School and University of Idaho just like the rest of the family. She has been with the family business for almost a decade. The only time she has not resided in beautiful Idaho is, you guessed it, was to leave the state for her dental degree education. Dr. Carter has participated in her local dental community by recruiting volunteers and hosting some the Give Kids a Smile Event in past years. She also has volunteered and worked at some of the local not for profit dental clinics in Boise, Fairfield and local military events. Dr. Carter enjoys continuing education as she sees it as means to provide comprehensive and up to date care to her patients. Behind the scenes she is always investigating the latest office technologies and softwares available to keep the office efficient for delivering comprehensive patient care. Away from the handpiece and computers Dr. Carter spends time with her son Axl, golfing, skiing, flying and karate.

They just like to blaim the patient and take the easy way out. They dont listen to what you have to say and they dont remember. They have done it the same way for years. Even when you have medical problems, Pretty upsetting. The staff is nice but definitely over worked. Theirs a reason their yelp reviews are so bad and their rateMDs reviews are so Bad... Some of the dentist are good at their Jobs but overall they are stuck in the past. If you have healthy teeth and just need a cleaning then its a great place. But you would be surprised of how many crowns and cavities have to be fixed again here. Almost every cleaning/ cavity I had, I heard a patient complaining about their crown breaking.

Absolutely HORRIBLE Experience! I went in for a tooth removal and Dr. Elizabeth Carter broke off a large part of the root and left it in my gums (See picture). At this point I didn't have any hard feelings as accidents happen. When I brought the problem to the attention of the dentists office, I was contacted by Dr. Jason Carter who was very aggressive and rude. He stated that sometimes they don't know how many roots a tooth has. I find this very hard to believe. X-Rays were taken beforehand and it would not be hard to see that a large portion of the tooth was missing. Several days later I was contacted by Dr. Elizabeth Carter who was very standoffish and seemed irritated to have to deal with my situation. I am shocked that I was treated with so much hostility over something that was in no way my fault. This was clearly a mistake by Dr. Elizabeth Carter. After the poor dentaI care that I received and being talked to so poorly, I asked them to cover the cost to get the problem fixed as I now require surgery to remove the broken piece and also a bone graph to fix the infected area. I stated that I did not feel comfortable having the problem fixed at their office due to their aggressive behavior and poor care that I received in the past. A week later I was contacted again by Dr. Elizabeth Carter stating that they chose not to rectify the situation and that the reason why was because I had not contacted them sooner. So...... the problem was my fault for not finding their mistake sooner?! I find it very hard to believe that they didn't know a large chunk of the tooth was missing after the removal. So, either Dr. Carter was negligent or choose to leave the missing part of the tooth in my gums. I am really taken back by the refusal of this Dentist office to simply "Do the right thing". I have never seen a situation like this that is so clearly their fault and have them treat me so badly over it. All I did wrong was choose the wrong Dentists office. CUSTOMERS BEWARE!!!

One day I had a crown come off. My regular dentist was out of town, but his office offered up a couple of dentists that could help me. Fortunately, I chose Dr. Jason Carter. I just "clicked" with Jason and asked if he was taking new patients----he was. That was 18 years ago. I hit the jackpot with Jason and his support staff. The entire office is upbeat, professional and utilizes the latest technology. Now my wife, adult daughter and granddaughter also go to Carter Family Dentistry. Thanks to all of you.

Our whole family has been going to Dr. Carter Sr. since the early '80s. He's been dealing with three generations Wacky Walton's. That in itself deserves a medal. :-) The whole staff is super friendly and always professional. If you want the most painless Nova-cane shot you have ever had, Dr. Carter senior is the bomb. I can't speak for the others but I personally won't go to anyone but him. He is not allowed to retire until I die! :-)

I've been going to this dentist for roughly two years and I love it. They have a very welcoming environment and good views from the dental chairs. I have yet to have a bad experience here.

Elizabeth Carter and Jason Carter are always professional and let me know what I need to focus on to maintain healthy teeth. They a fast at returning my phone calls and getting me in for an emergency root canal.

I have been a patient at Carter Dental for quite some time and the staff and dentist are totally awesome. I am impressed with the attention to detail, dedication, and above and beyond care. No matter the challenges that I have faced with my teeth, Carter Dental achieves the challenges and overcomes complications.
