Dentistry has been a perfect fit for me, as it has allowed me to help people of all ages feel better about their smiles and about themselves. Monroe is a great place to practice and live; it has secure, wholesome roots and an active population of young families.

Dr. Eckdhal grew up nearby, on a farm in Shullsburg, Wisconsin. She then attended Knox College in Galesburg, Illinois where she met her husband, Eric. After graduating Magna Cum Laude with a BA in Biology, she attended dental school at the University of Iowa and graduated as valedictorian of her dental school class. Dr. Eckdhal attended a general practice residency in Salt Lake City, Utah where she practiced both in a large University hospital and a rural clinic on a Navajo Reservation.

After moving back to Wisconsin in 2006, Dr. Eckdhal has enjoyed practicing with Dr. Carter and expanding the services she provides by attending continuing education courses. She has attended Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Education, Scottsdale Center for Dentistry and Hands on Training Institute for Dental Implants and is a member of the American, Wisconsin and Greater Dane Dental Associations.

In her free time, Dr. Eckdhal loves spending time outdoors with her husband and four young children, Connor, Althea, Evelyn and Violet. Depending on the time of year, you can find her gardening, camping, horseback riding or running.

Kris has been an employee since 1991 as a scheduling and financial coordinator. She strives daily to communicate with patients about the payment options that are available within our practice to obtain the high quality dentistry they want and need. Kris is married with two daughters.

Julie is a Registered Dental Hygienist who received her Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene from the University of Iowa in 1987. Since then, she has practiced in both Wisconsin and Illinois. She now resides in Wisconsin. In 2001, Julie was licensed to administer local anesthesia, and she has been practicing here since 2003. She enjoys working in a group practice with Dr. Carter and Dr. Eckdhal where she can utilize all of her skills. Julies focus is to educate every patient on his/her individual needs to help maintain optimum oral health.

Connie is a Registered Dental Hygienist. She graduated from Blackhawk Technical College with a Technical Diploma in Dental Assisting and also graduated from Madison Area Technical College with an Associate Degree in Dental Hygiene. She has been in the dental field for 29 years and a Dental Hygienist for 23 years. Having been with the practice for over 20 years, she continues to expand her knowledge with yearly CE courses. Dentistry is truly a passion of hers, and she takes pride in providing comprehensive and thorough treatment.

Trisha is a registered dental hygienist. She graduated in 2013 from Madison College with an Associates of Science Degree in Dental Hygiene. Trisha continues to expand her knowledge within the dental field by staying up-to-date with yearly continuing education courses. She maintains patience and compassion among a diverse population and strives to provide the most comprehensive patient care possible. Outside of the office, Trisha enjoys spending time with her husband and two children.

Jami is a dental assistant and has worked in the practice since 2005. She started as a clerical assistant through a school-to-work program and then moved into a clinical position, working chairside with patients. Jami maintains her education by attending various CE courses.

Kari joined the practice in October 2000. She started working full time in the front office, but eventually, through hands-on training and continuing education, moved to the clinical department and currently works chair side with Dr. Carter. Kari has continued her education in general dentistry and most recently has taken several courses to further her education in orthodontics. Kari enjoys working hands on with the patients and helping them to achieve and maintain their smiles. In her free time she is an avid reader and enjoys spending time with her friends and family.

Angela started in the dental field as a Patient Care Representative in 2011. With a curious mind and hands-on training chairside, Angela pursued an online Dental Assisting course and received her diploma as a Dental Assistant in 2015. She has been employed with Carter & Eckdhal Family Dentistry since September, 2015 as a chairside dental assistant. Angela enjoys working with patients of all ages and is grateful for the opportunity to make all experiences as positive as possible. In her free time, Angela enjoys spending time with her husband and two children.
