Born and raised in a small mountain town, Dr. Matthew Torres is very excited to return to the mountains and have a place to call home. Dr. Torres graduated from UNLV School of Dental Medicine, where he was an accomplished clinician and further completed a one-year residency in general dentistry at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth in Norfolk Virginia.
Dr. Torres has been married for 14 years and has three children. He loves spending time outdoors and enjoys landscape photography. Most of the photos located within our office are photos taken by Dr. Torres on some of his outdoor adventures.
Jen Hickey has had the pleasure of working at Carson Valley Dental Arts since 2019. After spending the previous 15 years as a medical office manager, Jen has enjoyed expanding her knowledge of the dental world.
She enjoys working with our tremendous staff, knowing that as a team we will help you achieve a comfortable, confident and beautiful smile they can be proud of. Jen is here to help you with any questions they may have regarding their treatment plan, insurance or financial needs.
Outside of the office, she enjoys spending time with her family and connecting with extended family and friends. Jen also enjoys reading, coaching softball and loves watching all kinds of sporting events.
Sue is extremely organized, thorough and makes dental education a priority with all the patients at Carson Valley Dental Arts. If you have any dental questions, Sue is the person to ask, and can help you have a beautiful smile that you can be proud of.
In her free time, she loves to go on road trips, camping and hiking. She graduated from dental assisting school in Carson City and loves that she can continue to make Carson Valley her home. Vanessa has found her happy place working with Dr. Torres day in and day out helping patients achieve the smile they have always wanted.
She loves to meet new people and is always eager to lend a helping hand or a listening ear. As a South Carolina native, she proudly cheers on her hometown team, the Clemson Tigers, though she is excited to be here in Carson Valley, with her husband, Britton, as he serves at the nearby Marine Corp Training Center.
Cathy Price is our fast-talking, Disney-loving dental hygienist who is passionate about her job. Cathy will take the time to discuss with you your dental health and stresses the importance of good dental hygiene. She is invested in your overall dental health.
Cathy has a B.S. in dental hygiene from U.C.S.F., and has been with Carson Valley Dental Arts since 2014. Cathy has been married to her husband, David, since 1992 and they have three beautiful children.
Alongside her husband, Dr. Matthew Torres, Lindsey is excited to make Gardnerville her home. Lindsey has an M.A. in professional communication, with an emphasis in advertising and public relations, from Southern Utah University.
Lindsey loves working with small businesses, attending marketing events and meeting new patients as they embark on their dental journey. Lindsey and her husband have been married for 14 years and have three children.
She began her career as a dental assistant and later furthered her education to become a dental hygienist. Besides keeping your teeth healthy and clean, Micheles favorite part about being a hygienist is getting to know you. When she is not helping you smile, you can find her boating, hiking or skiing.

went to Carson Valley Dental Arts to get a replacement set of dentures- I was very dissatisfied with the set I had received from another office about 5yrs ago. On my first visit I had a panoramic x-ray and several photos taken, something that wasn't done previously. Dr Torres was very friendly and respectful as was his assistant. I am hoping to get dental implants on the bottom. The whole process was explained to me and Jennifer at the front desk was so informative and sweet. She actually set up my appointments (just a side note, Dr Torres is actually the voice on his office answering machine!). I am so happy with this office and look forward to my new set of teeth. This is a follow-up to my new patient review. I finally have my new dentures and I even have strangers telling me I have a beautiful smile! After all the pre-denture and post- denture appointments, my dentures are Perfect! This experience is so different from my first set I received at another dental office and I couldn't be happier with Dr Torres and his staff! They are always smiling, professional yet down-to-earth, and very friendly. I would highly recommend this dental practice to anyone looking for a great dentist, dental assistants, and office staff.

I'm so happy I found Carson Valley Dental Arts. This is the Best dental office in my opinion. Very warm welcome from staff and doctor . They always make me feel comfortable and provide any information regarding my visit . Recently I had some more work done and it went so smoothly. The collaboration between Dr. Torres and his team is extraordinary. I'm heading towards a healthy beautiful smile .

None of the warm greeting I always receive by Jennifer, Dr. Torres' front office personnel, was missing at this office visit, nor was any of the usual courtesy and professionalism given by Dr. Torres and his assistant, Vanessa. This is the first dental office in my entire life where I almost look forward going to. I'm serious. This is a consistently wonderful group of highly talented professionals and dental office!

I was amazed by my visit. Every detail of knowing what was going on with my teeth was addressed. I liked the fact that Dr. Torres broke it down into what was most important and what could wait. Not overwhelming and very fair in price. The staff was all knowledgeable and kind. I appreciate most of all that I didn't feel Dr. Torres was rushed. He took the time and I appreciated that.

This is the place to go if you want really quality dental work crowns root canals and even specialty work the whole crew is awesome they work as a team no problems in this office whatsoever and they put up with me that's a big deal..

Carson Valley Dental Arts is a very friendly and efficient office. Dr Torres takes very good care of my dental issues, and has the support of a great staff. I am very pleased with the most recent crown that they did in their office, and it fits perfectly and blends right in with my other teeth. I am happily on a regular teeth cleaning schedule with Michelle, she has made the teeth cleaning appts way less stressful and does a great job also. I highly recommend Dr Torres and his crew.

Dr Torres is very kind , personable and knowledgeable. I had an urgent matter and was seen within days. As a new patient that's quite impressive! His staff is also great, I was greeted warmly on the phone by Heidi and Vanessa assisted the Dr with my care. I felt very comfortable during my visit . I certainly recommend Dr Torres and his staff at CVDA

New to the area and first dentist I tried. Consultation and xrays were great and identified any work needing to be done. Very accommodating for scheduling. The work was great and was much quicker than I was expecting. Looking forward to regular visits. A great and friendly place.
