Dr. MichaelAcasio was born and raised in Ventura County where he attended Channel Islands High Schooland graduated as Cum Laude. He attended UCLA and majored in Microbiology , Immunology, and Genetics graduating in his class with top honors.
After college, Dr. Acasio completed his dental school training in downtown Boston at Tufts University where he received his DMD degree. Wanting to further his education and training, he completed his Advanced Education in General Dentistry Residency at NYU Langone. Dr. Acasio has since moved back to California where he practices in both LosAngeles and Ventura County.
Dr. Acasiosgoal istoprovide quality care for all of his patients.Heis an avid learner and continues to take CE courses to further hisspecial interests in dental implants, endodontics, andcosmetic dentistry. He has been with the team of Dr. Carson and Carson for over 3 years.
Dr. Acasio wanted to beback and practice in the city that has given him so much. Its always my top priority to listen my patients concerns and providethe bestcare possible by utilizing the newest technology and techniques.
Many of our dental staff members have been working with us since 1970 and have continued to grow their knowledge in the fields of dentistry. We are one of few dental practices in Oxnard that have been open for over 4 decades in the Oxnard area, and we are proud to be able to help the families of Oxnard and Ventura County achieve brighter smiles every day. Our dental staff has a wide breadth of experience in many fields of dentistry ranging from Pediatric to Cosmetic Dentistry. Please make sure your insurance is Pre-approvaed before they start working on your month I thought mine was and when it came down to it NOT i thought the office had this done before they starting working on me now They are saying I still owe when I thought I was paid in full. Dr. Mike

Excellent service. Dr. Derek was the only emergency oral surgeon to respond, everything was done so fast and without pain. Highly recommended, Carmen is his amazing front office manager, she is highly professional and knowledgeable. I had very painful broken wisdom tooth removed. I can honestly say I have waited longer at the Starbucks Drive thru. Thank you!!!

I first came to Dr Carson in 2019 for an extraction and an implant. This doesn't happen in one visit and the care I received was first class. Dr Derek Carson is always concerned with the patient's comfort thoughout the examination and dental procedure. He really is the dentist to see if you are afraid of pain because his treatment is painless. I was worried about implants before I went to Dr Derek Carson. His explanation of the implant procedure really helped. This included building up the bone in my gum and placing an anchor before actually installing the implant. Carson & Carson's office has state of the art equipmen allowing the dental assistants to do CAT scans and Xrays with immediate results. Since 2019, I have had a second implant, so no more missing teeth. I have to also mention the billing help I received at the front desk from Carmen. I have had some delays in payment from my insurance due to errors by the insurance. Carmen told me not to worry about it. Everything they told me turned out to be true and it was handled in a very professional manner.

This is the first time I have ever had drilling on my teeth with NO pain whatsoever!! Dr Derek was even able to numb me without pain-you know how normally it feels like they're injecting you in your nose! Ha ha Ha I went here with my new insurance because I needed some things replaced in my mouth and I could not be happier! I highly recommend either office, I have been to both Camarillo and Oxnard and the staff at both amazing! I never thought I would say this about a dentist but I can't wait to go back and see what's next for me!

I happily drive down to Oxnard from Santa Barbara to see Dr Carson for all my dental work. The crowns and bridges I have are solid and beautiful. They use the most up to date digital technology to make sure everything fits perfectly. A family owned business, everyone is so friendly and helpful. I highly recommend them!

I have had the worst anxiety since joining the military in 2005 basic training going to the dentist, I usually get sedated for taking out a tooth but something about the front desk lady made me feel safe. As they're prepping for the extraction the nurse assistant started the nitrogen to get me relaxed while I was thinking we were getting started, but what she did was turn it on low to relax me than turn it up to the point I was able to relax my body than I woke up out a Tupac concert lol. This is by far the best dentist I have ever went too, I usually don't post reviews but I would highly suggest going here because they have everything you need in one place. The extraction was painless even when I woke up the next day and I'm usually prone to pain after any extraction needing pain meds but this is the first time it came out perfect and the bone marrow was prep'd for the implant and he put it in PERFECT!!! Also I don't feel any bone marrow coming out like the last dentist bc I would literally be feeling it in mouth chewing on it not knowing it was coming out and every bite hurt. At this office, the one they did worked while the other didn't hold bc the cut in my mouth was also too far up. With that being said they changed it to a bridge instead of implant; meaning teeth that didn't need crowns got crowns on them which is the one that was fragile and broke, that's why I have soo much I wanna say about this wonderful dentist office. I'm soo happy I finally found a place I feel comfortable enough to finally call home, I can now stay on top of my teeth bc I know I'm in good hands and my teeth can finally be cleaned and up to date. They're perfectionist in treatment at this dentist is soo awesome, I'm actually looking forward to him doing a tough root canal I need done so I don't loose it. Ohh not to mention I'm 35 and still have anxiety so this place speaks volume!!! Thank you to each and everyone that assisted to get me in ASAP to help with an urgent matter, and also bc they were able to get me in the next day. I truly feel like they actually do care about their patients and the health of your teeth, not to suggest unneeded procedures that won't even work.

15 years ago I had no insurance I went in to get a tooth pulled and Derek stopped me from getting my tooth pulled and he said that he will help me the tooth was going to be pulled in my smile and he said you have an amazing smile and you deserve to keep that smile. 15 years later I had a new dentist in a different state and his work still blows other dentist away. Almost every dentist ask who did that bridge and I told him my hometown dentist Derek Carson and they are just blown away by the quality of his work. Derek and his dad are truly painless doctors I never once felt uncomfortable with him or his father and they're just an amazing dentistry thank you so much for helping me out in my time of need.

Best Dentist I've ever had. Family owned and operated most insurance excepted and if you have any procedure done that's not covered by your insurance they work with you on small monthly payment plan, no hassles, no procrastinations, no sweat!!!! I've been a patient of Dr. Carson(Derek) for well over a decade and he's squashed any of my fears of going to see the dentist . His father Dr. Leroy Carson is my aunt and former mother-in-laws primary dentist as well. Looking for a dentist? Can't put off your aching grill any longer, give Carson & Carson a call. PAINFREE Dentistry. Huge office in Oxnard and also a smaller practice in Camarillo...both offices are very nice and give you the feeling like your at home rather than at a dental office, but behind the scenes they're ready to serve with the most modern and up to date equipment in the industry. Give them a try and you'll have a dentist for life!!

So glad I found this place, everyone from the front desk to the doctors seem extremely genuine and caring. They moved my appointment up a few days for me just because I told them I was experiencing some bothersome pain. Dr Carson senior even came by and introduced himself and we had a nice little chat, very professional and freindly. Overall, in and out in about an hour and a half, now 100 percent pain free! Even their waiting room was very warm and inviting like a home, not cold and sterile looking like a doctors office. I already told my sisters about my experience and they will be switching. 5 stars all the way.

Both doctors, father and son (Dr. Leroy and Dr. Derek), are the best of the best. I have been to different dentists due to change on my insurance coverage, but i keep coming back to Carson and Carson (even if it means paying out of pocket,) because they take care of the issues others can not or are not willing to. To be honest, their fees are actually low and their work far superior compared to other dentists. Furthermore, the staff is truly amazing, friendly, knowledgeable, professional. I am in good hands, my second family's hands.

This dental office is beyond professional. A landmark of our city, to say the least. Dr. Carson has been serving our community for quite some time, with true care and concern for his patients. If you want a true dental experience, then I would highly advise you to make an appointment with them :)

Today I had a procedure wisdoms teeth extracted with Dr Derek Carson. All staff it was the kindest people ever they stayed room and for the all time asking how I was feeling. The Dr was absolutely amazing! I had several shots and no leave one I feel it and about the extraction when I was thinking he will start it he ready did the extraction out me feeling any pain absolutely any discomfort. I had rest of my day as a normal day and not swallowing. I really want to thank you Dr Derek Carson to be an amazing Dentist so gentle and very professional with absolutely confidentiality. I highly recommended this office if you need to visit just for your regular cleaning or any procedure. Thank you very much!
