Todays dental filling materials require extensive knowledge of chemistry and strict adherence to protocols for clinical success. Tooth-colored filling materials are complex resin composites that are covalently bonded to natural tooth structure. Dr. Adam Carraway is a scientist at heart which means he is constantly studying the latest research in dental materials and giving his patients fantastic dental treatment results.

Dr. Carraway and his professional dental team want patients to feel welcome when they step into their office for the first time. No matter the patients age, Dr. Carraway makes it his mission to create an environment where everyone feels comfortable. He understands that it can be difficult for some patients to visit the dentist, especially on a regular basis. Whether patients have had a negative past experience or have been away from the dentist for a long time, he can help.

For particularly anxious or fearful patients, Dr. Carraway uses dental sedation. Sedation dentistry makes it easier for patients to receive the dental care they need. Using IV sedation, nitrous oxide, or oral conscious sedation, Dr. Carraway helps patients feel relaxed and calm. Under dental sedation, patients do not remember their dental procedure and can even fall asleep. Sedation dentistry allows patients who would not otherwise visit the dentist to receive treatment.

Preventative dentistry is a type of dental care used to stop the development of serious dental problems including cavities, tooth decay, and gum disease. The most common and effective preventative dental treatments are generalized. Routine cleanings, dental x-rays, and scaling and root planing provide preventative treatment. In order to better keep track of our patients oral health, we recommend that they visit our office twice a year for routine visits. These routine dental visits are a key part of preventative dentistry. Our team thoroughly examines the teeth, cleans the teeth and gums, and recommends treatment during these visits.

Following dental school, Dr. Carraway completed a 1-year general practice residency (GPR) at the Dental College of Georgia at Augusta University. This residency provided Dr. Carraway with extensive training in comprehensive dental care, implant dentistry, surgical extractions, IV sedation, management of medically complex patients, and cosmetic dentistry. It was during this residency that Dr. Carraway learned techniques to elevate his knowledge and expertise of general dentistry so that he could provide exceptional comprehensive care for his patients and be better equipped to manage more difficult patient cases.

Dr. Carraway participates in countless hours of continuing education each year through his active membership in the Greenville County Dental Society, Hinman Dental Society, and American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry.

While attending the Dental College of Georgia, Dr. Carraway received several honorable awards including the Pierre Fauchard Academy Certificate of Merit, the senior Endodontic award, and the OKU certificate of academic achievement. In addition to receiving the mentioned awards, Dr. Carraway was also the recipient of the following scholarships: Emilie Fisher Dental Scholarship, John McNamara Dental Scholarship, and the Zell Miller Scholarship, and was inducted into membership in the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society and Beta Gamma Sigma Honor Society.

Dr. Carraway, originally from Georgia, has lived in Greenville since 2018. There are several things that attracted him to the upstate. Dr. Carraways wife, Neely, who he met while in dental school, is originally from Greenville. She wanted to return back to Greenville to be close to family and friends and Dr. Carraway couldnt resist Greenvilles beautiful downtown and the proximity to incredible lakes and mountains. Not being too far from Athens, where the Georgia bulldogs play, is an added perk to living in the upstate!

Dr. Carraway grew up spending a lot of time outdoors, frequently visiting the lake, beach, and mountains and he still enjoys spending time outdoors. Whether he is out on the lake participating in water sports or on the swamp rabbit trail riding his bike, Dr. Carraway is happiest when outdoors and with his family and friends. Family is very important to Dr. Carraway and Greenville is a great halfway point for visiting with his family members who are spread out across the southeast. Speaking of family, Dr. Carraway and his wife are expecting their first child in the summer of 2022 and they are thrilled to be adding a little boy to their family. The jury is still out if he will be a Georgia Bulldog or Clemson tiger (where Neely attended undergraduate studies)!

Hi, my name is Julie. I moved to Greenville in 1989 from Toledo, OH. I met my husband in high school and we have been together ever since. We have three kids; Kaiden, Avery, and Ben- they are my world. We love vacationing in the summers, biking, hiking, and boating when our schedule allows. I received my degree from Greenville Technical College and have been a hygienist for eighteen years. My goal as a hygienist is to help you achieve the best oral care, in a safe and comfortable environment.

Hi, my name is Bridget, I have worked as a Dental Hygienist for twenty-three years. I am passionate about dentistry and love every part of my job. I am honored to be a part of such an innovative and compassionate practice where I am able to provide the highest quality of care. I am from Upstate New York; my husband and I moved to the Carolinas four years ago. We love the weather here and enjoy boating and fishing in our free time. I love gardening and am also known as the chicken lady.

I am Jackie and I was born and raised in Greenville, SC. Though, my second home is in Pennsylvania where my entire family originates from. A day in the dental practice for me consists of helping with both front office and back office duties. I am cross trained to help with assisting in the back and our awesome team members on the front side of things, which I love!

I have enjoyed working in the dental field since I was nineteen years old, about five years ago is when it all began. I value learning and have been enjoying continuing my education through Greenville Technical College. Dental and nutrition are interests of mine. In my free time I enjoy painting on canvas and spending time with my sweet family, including my seventy five pound dog- Cub!

Hello, my name is Sherri. I am from Anderson SC and moved to the Greenville area fifteen years ago. I have been in dentistry for over twenty-four years and have had the opportunity to wear many hats. My first nineteen years I worked as a dental assistant and I am currently enjoying working as a business administrator. My two sons, daughter, six grandchildren- with one on the way- are the loves of my life. I also love the outdoors, hiking, boating and a nice fire with some smores.

Im Kaylin and I was born and raised in the Sunshine State, spending many of my childhood summers in my grandfathers dental practices. Before I knew it, they needed an extra pair of hands! In the summer of 2008, I sought out to become a Dental Assistant and have truly enjoyed walking in this path as I continue to learn and grow within the field.

My belief is that everyone deserves to feel good about themselves and helping patients achieve their best smile is what I love most about my career. In 2016 my family and I relocated to the Upstate in search of changing seasons and those beautiful mountain views! We love to get outside, whether its hiking or spending time on the lake, there is always something fun to do.

Since becoming a Dental Assistant, I have also obtained my Estheticians license and I am currently enrolled in the Digital Photography program at Southern New Hampshire University. Although I am originally from California, I have lived in Greenville since I was a child. I have been in dentistry for over thirty years and have enjoyed working in various dental positions.
