Dr. Rachel Perentis was born and raised in Iowa and attended the University of Iowa. It was there she met her husband, Dr. Greg Perentis. Together, they have two sons, two daughters, a daughter-in-law, and an amazing grandson. Family is very important to them, and this translates into how they run our practices.
Dr. Perentis moved to North Carolina in 2001 and immediately set to work, helping young people acquire healthy smiles. She finds it genuinely enriching to help children gain a positive view of dentistry.
I have two sons, two daughters, and a grandson. All of them have been or still are very active in traveling sports teams so that occupies a lot of my time. I love outdoor activities such as hiking, kayaking, walking on the beach, swimming, etc. When I make time, I also enjoy crocheting, reading, and painting.
My grandmother is my hero. She raised fifteen kids while working full-time. I remember having the best times when I was at her house even when she didnt have a lot of money. Today at 89-years-old, she is still active in her garden, goes shopping for antiques, loves to dance, and laughs all day.
I cant single out the best day, but I vividly recall the best DAYS of my life. Our family is extremely close and there are eight of us, so whenever we can all be together, we have the best times. Whether its snow sledding in the mountains or just hanging out in the kitchen around the island we always have fun.
Dr. Perentis would describe himself as a big kid at heart. He truly enjoys interacting with our patients and brings in silly things that get a great reaction from the kids. So far this includes a clown nose, funny hats, and movies.
Away from the office, I am probably either outdoors or with my family. I love running and working out, but I also enjoy gardening and yard work. My family really enjoys outdoor activities together. We love swimming, paddleboarding, kayaking, rock climbing, white water rafting, and just hanging out together.
I love the movie Patch Adams starring Robin Williams. It is about a man who wanted to go into medicine because he genuinely wanted to help people. He goes out of his way to bring happiness and laughter, and that is how I aspire to be with my patients.
In dental school, we were divided into small groups. My group had one too many so we were asked who would be willing to join another smaller group. I volunteered and that was the first day of getting to know my wife. Everything else that followed has led me to my most prized part of my life: My family.
I have been taking my daughter here since we moved into the area. Everyone is so friendly here and they are pretty good about getting us in and out but still being proficient. Its a great dental office. I would recommend this place. Five stars!

Although we have two offices with two teams, our dentists in Durham and Greensboro, NC serve at both practices. They spend time getting to know ALL our patients, which helps children enjoy consistency of care and feel part of our family.
I love Atlantis Dentistry. They have been taking wonderful care of my kid's dental health for more than three years now. They offer a great service, are very thorough, super-friendly, and provide a great place for kids.

I love this office!! I was referred by a friend year ago when my son was around 3years old, (who is now 17)but I never made an appointment. Then one day my daughter had an accident in the shower where her front top three teeth had to be removed back in maybe 2010/11 and we have continued to love and appreciate the care we received all the way from front desk to the clinic.

THE BEST Pediatric Dentist Practice In North AND South Carolina! My 10yo looks forward to going so he can find out which tooth the fairy is comming for next. Bedside manner is AWESOME. No papoose boards or screaming kids Being held down with drills coming at them...their approach is warm and gentle. It really is saying a lot for me to say that my son enjoys going. He has teeth that dont get loose, so he has had 8 or more extracted, plus 1 filling, and still gets excited to see his x-rays. Carousel Dentistry is a prime example of a strong, professionally run business who treats its clients like a community family.

I highly recommend Carousel Dentistry. I am a mother of 5 beautiful kids, So imagine the frustration in taking them to visits or getting appointments to accommodate them all. We are always treated well and it's a huge relief when I am able to get them in and out so quickly, not to for get their compassion to make the kids comfortable and less anxious. My kids love going Carousel dentistry! They been coming since they were 1. My oldest is 12. Everyone is so polite and friendly.. Great place. I really recommend it. Nice and clean place.

Very child friendly my kids have been coming here for years and my next to youngest just turned 18 today. Definitely a fan of this dentist and the staff and location. They only take Medicaid and no one would ever know it. The office is nice clean has a nice fish tank. Nothing look any less than a dentist that only took commercial insurance. Thank you for being you and having a nice safe and clean place for the children of durham county.

My children have been coming to them since they opened up on Fayetteville St. They are wonderful with the kids that they provide services for. My children love coming to the dentist. I've gone from 1 child coming to 3 children coming and now back down to just 1 again because my other 2 aged out and had to be referred to an adult dentistry. It's just been an overall good experience for my family and I.
