I don't think it would bother me to have teeth pulled or oral surgery every day as long as Dr. JD was the surgeon. This doctor is the best oral surgeon in the country. He is kind and compassionate. You will feel no pain during the procedure. He makes sure you don't. If anyone needs the best oral surgeon in Charlotte, then call Dr. JD at his office. The staff is very friendly and capable. They are there to help you with your insurance, payments, appointments, and any other questions you might have. I feel honored to review Dr. JD Kisella and his office.

I'm a severe hypochondriac when it comes to anything dental. It took me years to finally give in and book a wisdom teeth surgery. I've seen many oral surgeons, lots of money spent on consults where I just hated the vibe the surgeons gave off. My dentist referred me to Dr.Abernathy. During my consult, his MA Lincoln was calming, personable, and very easy to talk to. Dr.Abernathy was nothing less, he gave off a confident, and easy going aura. I asked many questions and not once was he annoyed. Everything was thoroughly explained and the day of my surgery I was at a 1/10 level of anxiousness. Lincoln and Erin were so sweet and understanding right before surgery. I am so grateful to have found the perfect team that I can put trust in. Abernathy did an amazing job, and recovery was just as he explained. 10/10 experience!

PLEASE get a predetermination from your insurance company BEFORE you pay these people anything out of pocket. The 1 star is for the billing department which has an utter disregard for patients. I would highly recommend using another oral surgeon for this reason.

Referred by dentist to this center for extraction/implant on a tooth where the crown broke off. Scheduled a consultation to inquire about immediate implant. After they took x-rays they told me they don't perform immediate implants. Wasted an hour at the center and another hour in commute time for something they could have told me over the phone they don't provide only so they could bill me for additional x-rays that they should have requested from my dentist. After the consultation with surgeon who told me he doesn't perform the requested service I was told to wait in the waiting area and someone would come get me. Unfortunately I wasted another 20 minutes because nobody came. The receptionist at check-out was too lazy to get up from her desk and just mumbled my name from around the corner of the waiting area. The only reason I even knew she called my name is because someone sitting closer said they thought they heard her say something. Terrible experience and would not recommend this place to anyone.

So thankful for the team here. Dr Abernathy did a great job with my 6 year old daughter. The anesthesia team and nurses did amazing with her. It was quick and mostly painless!

When I was 15, I was told I needed this jaw surgery or else I would suffer multiple health issues. I had the surgery, it caused my gums to recede, the loss of two of my front teeth, loss of bone and membrane in my skull. Since 2015 I have had 6 separate surgeries trying to combat the problems this surgery caused, SO FAR! I get a new problem every year caused by this jaw surgery. I never had any discomfort before this surgery, though after has caused tremendous pain. What I would do to go back and NEVER have this surgery. Please please do not put your children through this.

Dr. Michelle Zoccolillo is the best. She did an exceptional job of explaining my dental procedure; I knew exactly what I was going into. The dental tech, Mitzi, also did a great job. I couldn't have asked for service any better. I highly recommend Carolinas Center For Oral & Facial Surgery; I will certainly use them again should I have need for any other dental procedures. Great job folks.

We could not have went to a better place to get my son's wisdom teeth removed. The procedure went smoothly, and my son came out of surgery only slightly swollen. Dr. Abernathy did such a great job my son was able to eat normally only few days after the surgery. The staff was very kind and helpful, and I highly recommend Carolinas Center For Oral & Facial Surgery!

It is hard to put into words just how much we adore Dr. Kapitan, Mrs. Mikki, and the rest of the staff at Carolinas Center for Oral & Facial Surgery. Our daughter was born with a cleft lip and palate as well as a genetic disorder that causes her not to have a full set of teeth (among many other issues that complicate every medical procedure). She was adopted at an older age, so we had a lot of ground to cover when we started seeking out doctors to help us. As parents, we felt ill-equipped and overwhelmed with all of the medical options and decisions. We believe that God led us right to Dr. Kapitan and Mrs. Mikki. Since then, our daughter has had numerous surgeries with Dr. Kapitan and we can't sing his praises enough. He and Mrs. Mikki make our daughter feel calm, safe, and loved in the midst of some scary procedures for a girl her age. Dr. Kapitan and Mrs. Mikki explain things in ways that we can understand, and give us all the time we need to ask questions and process each decision. From the minute we walk into the office, they make us all feel like family. Our daughter has come so far in Dr. Kapitan's care, and we can't wait to see the final product in just a few short years.
