The most common causes of an infection in the root include tooth decay and periodontal disease. You may also develop an infection due to a crack or fracture in the enamel, usually the result of facial trauma. When the pulp becomes inflamed or damaged, serious pain can occur. Worst case scenario, an infection can threaten the life of a tooth.

Dr. Mancia is an active member of the American Association of Endodontics, North Carolina Endodontic Society and American Dental Association. Dr. Mancia is married to a local oral surgeon in the area, Dr. Ben Mancia, and they have a son, Maceo. In her spare time, Dr. Mancia enjoys exercising, learning Spanish and traveling with her family!

I recently had my 2nd experience with Dr. Ewing. My first was with a root canal that went bad. It was performed nearly 40 years ago in Ohio. My experience wirh that repair was great. Recently a routine exam with Dr. Patrick Garrison (awesome family practice) found a problem with a front tooth. I was again referred to Dr. Ewing. He is very friendly, professional and explains the procedure in a way the average person fully understands what is going to be done and what to expect. Obviously I hope to never see him again for the rest of my life but if I need the services of an endodontist, he's my go-to guy. Not to forget them, the staff is top rated too.

My family has used Dr. Ewing for many years and the staff is always top notch. My daughter had to go to their Clyde office yesterday and she said everyone was so nice and helpful. We love Dr. Ewing!!!

My husband, Robin, had a root canal yesterday at Carolina Mountain Endodontics and I can say that he had an excellent experience there! The staff were courteous and friendly and Dr. Mancia was gentle, explained the procedure to him thoroughly and couldn't have been more professional or more skilled. A staff member even called him this morning to see how he is doing! Driving from Asheville to their office in Hendersonville was well worth having such a great experience!

Best Dental Experience possible. Staff in both offices are exceptional, and Dr. Kennedy is not only great at what he does but makes the whole experience enjoyable. That's saying something for a ROOT CANAL! I would recommend he and his staff to anyone. I drove 575 miles one way for the experience, and would do it again, in a heart beat. Thanks!!

Dr. Kennedy was absolutely awesome! He did my root canal today and I could not be more pleased. I am beyond grateful for him listening to me and being able to straighten up some incorrect information (about which tooth needed the root canal) from my referring dentist. Dr. Kennedy saved me a considerable amount of money, time and made the pain go away completely. He is so funny and is great at putting patients at ease. Zero pain during the procedure and his dental assistant was awesome too. If I could give him more than 5 stars then I would. It's a bonus that he is super cute too! Thank you for fixing my tooth today!

I have never had a better dental experience in my life. I was so comfortable during my root canal procedure that I almost felt like I could take a nap. I did not get IV anesthesia, only local, and it was a quick and painless procedure. I hope I never need another root canal, but if I do they are absolutely the people I trust to do it! My wife has been in treatment by Dr Kennedy for two weeks. I could understand that treatment doesn't always work, but today he refused to even look at her despite increasing pain and swelling.
