The most common causes of an infection in the root include tooth decay and periodontal disease. You may also develop an infection due to a crack or fracture in the enamel, usually the result of facial trauma. When the pulp becomes inflamed or damaged, serious pain can occur. Worst case scenario, an infection can threaten the life of a tooth.

I recently had 2 root canals done, both by Dr. Alison Mancia, and I could not be happier. (Except had i not had to have a root canal at all). Dr. Mancia and the dental assistant were both incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and professional. The front office staff were all welcoming and friendly, and everyone made my entire experience as a patient here as wonderful as I could have hoped for. 10/10 would highly recommend.

No one ever says 'I look so forward to getting a root canal' - unless of course one recognizes the benefits of it - PAIN RELIEF- however if you need one, this is the office to go to! Kind and attentive, from the moment you walk in all the way through to the dental assistants and the doctor! I felt almost nothing- and the moment I did, Dr. Kennedy added a bit more from his 'magic' numbing needle, and I never felt a thing for several hours afterwards! I had my procedure done in the morning and went out for dinner that night! Kudos to all at this office .

I seen Dr Kennedy today. Not my first visit to this office. Actually as bad as I hate to say it was my third visit. All my visits have been wonderful and pain free. I'm one of those hard to get numb problem patients but he knows exactly what to do!! I highly recommend this office as I have also seen Dr Ewing. They are all wonderful as well as their front office staff!!

First of all let me just say say that I was very stressed about having the procedures done not one but two root canals same day! Much to my PLEASANT surprise it went off without a hitch and no PAIN AT ANY TIME. My experience was, the words that come to mind "spectacular" and "incredible". From the personnel upfront - Justine and Donna - to my tech - Sammie - were absolutely awesome. Of course, Dr. Shawn Kennedy, which I will say has a true gift and talent and definitely is very successful due to his caring and professionalism while performing his procedures. Hell, I had such a good time, may go back just to have another one! Really as far as I am concerned, if I need this type of work in the future, there is NO ONE else I WILL EVER go to. Thanks so much to the whole gang at Carolina Mountain Endodontics and God bless

These guys and gals are top notch. Dr. Kennedy breezed through my root canal in about 30 minutes if not less and I experienced zero pain. Truly, a skilled operator. Great communication, super friendly, and all around great experience.

Hmm.. do you believe ANY buisness ONLY has 5 star reviews? NOT that I've ever seen. Ethics are extremely important and this is a definite lie. They take NO insurance and when I went for my estimate they didn't want to answer ANY questions I had. They cost HUNDREDS more than anywhere I called. Please don't accept that this is your only option call Dr Key in Asheville she's a church going, HONEST practice. SO glad I checked options bc she does take insurance and as long as it covers 50% you pay nothing the day you go. Please don't go here when there are much better options!

You hate going to the dentist? Well let me too you, you will LOVEEEE this place. Dr. Kennedy did 5 root canals on me at once. Crazy right? I SLEPT THROUGH THE WHOLE THING!! They are BY FAR the best of the best. Extremely nice staff as well! I give them the highest of praises.

The doctor helped cure my tooth ache from my root canal. I was feeling much better afterward and had a good night rest with no more tooth ache to wake me up.

I was very nervous about having a root canal done by Dr. Brandon Chasteen, DMD on 8/31/2021, because I could not find any reviews for him??? He was the so helpful to calm my nerves and "NO" pain at all. I don't know why nobody has posted how great he is. But I would tell everyone to make your appointment with Dr. Chasteen and his assistant. Thank you

i was in a lot of pain. my dentist referred me to here for a root canal and carolina mountain endodontics got my appointment set within a week. the whole experience was very comfortable and the staff was friendly. i was worked on by mandy and dr. ewing, both were great. if you need a root canal, i would highly recommend.

A fantastic experience from start to finish, and that's saying something for a root canal! I was able to make an initial appointment and have a follow-up visit for my procedure all within a week of calling the office as a new patient. The staff members are exceptionally warm and kind, and Dr. Chasteen is professional, respectful, efficient, and highly competent. My procedure (painless) took less than an hour. There was total transparency about pricing/billing, and I even received a phone call the next day just to check up on me.

The throbbing pain was excruciating for 4 days before I could see my dentist at 10:30 who gave me a same day referral to Dr. Kennedy's office for 3pm. From the first call to walking out the door, my experience was excellent...and this was during the lockdown. One hour in the chair to drill into my crown, clean out 4 canals, fill them and fix the cap. As I left the office, my pain was gone leaving only soreness in its place. Thank you for your efficiency and care. Highly recommend!
