For more than two decades, Carolina Family Health Centers, Inc. has built patient-focused community health centers and developed a broad scope of healthcare services in these eastern North Carolina counties.
Community Health Centers (also known as Federally Qualified Health Centers) are private, nonprofit, patient-governed, community-directed organizations that remove common barriers to care by serving communities whose residents have historically experienced financial, geographic, language, cultural or other barriers to receiving care. Community Health Centers provide a health care home that integrates high quality medical, dental, behavioral health, pharmacy, and enabling services without regard to a persons ability to pay.
The success of Carolina Family Health Centers, Inc. rests, in part, with its tenured and cohesive leadership team. Each member of the team is properly credentialed and highly qualified to direct programs, functions, and oversee services in his or her primary area of responsibility. The only reason this place is getting two stars instead of zero is because of how the dentist and her assistant were so very kind and willing to help answer any question I had. The receptionist, while not directly rude to me, gave off an aura of, I do not care about your issues and this is just a dead end job for me, so do not expect them to show any empathy So here are the main problems that I had: 1. Just like other reviews on here, this place has a tendency to reschedule or outright cancel appointments, so do not hesitate to double check three days before and then the day before. In my case, they called me the day before, but fortunately they were able to re-schedule me for a day later around the same time... Here's the catch: they had to set me up with a different provider and change my appointment from a full exam to a limited exam which they did not inform me of until I was there the day of. "What is a limited exam?" you may ask. Let's say you have multiple cavities that need to be addressed with the limited exam they'll only address one of them. So always quadruple check to make sure you're getting the exam or procedure you were scheduled for! 2. The second thing that you should be wary of is that they only schedule appointments 6 weeks in advance, so expect them to not have any open availability until the beginning of a new Monday but do not hesitate to call them on Monday if you have no other option available, because they will get filled up very quickly.

Had a tooth pulled and ibuprofen is all they can give you, I called them back and they said I will have to go to my regular doctor to get pain meds that will work.....no help at all...........!!!!!

I have been a patient here for 3 1/2 years now. At first they were great and I absolutely love my dentist Dr. Lee. But for over a year now this place has been absolutely ridiculous. They cancel almost all of my appointments the day before my appointment. And today was the final straw. I was scheduled an appointment this morning. They called and confirmed my appointment 3 days ago. They sent a confirmation text at 4P.M. yesterday and then last night at 9:25 P.M. they canceled me once again. I called this morning and the receptionist gave me another lame excuse and put me in the back of the line once again so I have to wait another 3 months. Do not go here especially if it's an emergency or you will be screwed. Hopefully I can find Dr. Lee's real office so I can continue to see him because he is amazing.

Dr. Lee by far is the best dentist ever. The staff overall is is friendly and helpful. Johnson the dental hygienist is the best also.

PERFECT DENTISTRY Fast, efficient and with excellent personalities from check in to check out. Dr. Lee (no relationship) and Assistant Donald are absolutely the most incredible working team ever experienced in 50+ years of dental service anywhere !! Three unbelievably perfect operations - 1) authentically personable, 2) absolutely painless and extremely efficient execution of dental services with the latest technology and 3) clear direct explanations and post care instructions.These two guys - still SMH in amazement.

I only gave a 1 because I couldn't give a zero. I made my son and appointment and two months ago and when I brought him out her they had canceled his appointment and didnt let me know anything. I would not recommend this place to anyone

I had a deeply unpleasant experience after I questioned the work the dentist did on my teeth during my previous visit. I was just trying to understand what happened to my tooth which I was there for him to fix. It must have made him angry because when he stuck the needle in my mouth to numb me he FORCIBLY pushed the numbing agent into my gum which was very painful I was numb for almost 2 days and I had a headache for 3 days. Having had work by the same dentist before I'd never experienced that. He was clearly upset that I questioned his work. A doctor should have more self control then to just make it more painful for me because he's angry I questioned his work. My next visit with another dentist was also unpleasant. I will never return to this place.

My name is D. Horne and I was seen at the GREATEST DENTAL CENTER EVER CREATED!! They offered genuine professional service to me in my greatest need of care. Mr. Mace Gonzalez my doctor and Ms. Angel Parker, his dental assistant saved me from sleepless full of pain nights. They diagnosed the problem as a true team and cured me literally. Step by step I was comfortable and unafraid because they were very informative of each procedure to follow one by one. I am very GRATEFUL to them both and I want anyone to know that they are proficient in what they do. Finally free from pain I can recommend Carolina Family Dental Center to all who seek relief. The facility is beautiful and filled with true professionals and the equipment to get the job done!
