For most people, achieving a healthy, beautiful smile is the reason for receiving orthodontic care. If youre self-conscious about your smile, correcting your concerns with braces will greatly improve the way you look and feel.

We also want you to feel comfortable and confident throughout your entire orthodontic experience, and our practice is dedicated to making sure that you receive the quality care you deserve.
Orthodontic appliances are made of metal, ceramic, or clear plastic. They may be removable or they may be brackets bonded to the teeth. By placing a constant, gentle force in a carefully controlled direction, braces slowly move teeth to the proper position.
Gone are the days when a metal band with a bracket was placed around each tooth. You can now choose clear ormetal brackets and, in some cases, Invisalign, which are removable. Wires are far less noticeable, and the latest materials are designed to move teeth faster with more comfort. In addition, we use cutting edgeheat-activatedwires, which are simply adjusted by rinsing with warm water. Today, any age is a great age to makeover your smile!
Treatment time varies and can last between one and three years, depending on several factors including age, treatment method, and how minor or severe your case is. A big factor in a successful treatment is you! The more involved and diligent you are, the more efficient your treatment will be. For children, receiving interceptive or early treatment can also help provide a quicker treatment time.
Dr. Jesse Carmenis also a native of Columbus; he is Dr. RonCarmens son! The orthodontic field was a natural choice for Dr. Jesse as a result of watching his father in the profession for his entire life. His favorite thing about being anorthodontistis the opportunity to take part in increasing the self-esteem and self-confidence of all his patients.
Dr. Jesse entered our practice upon completion of his orthodontic residency atCase Western Reserve University. Prior to that, he received his bachelors degree from the University of Michigan honors program. He then graduated cum laude from theOhio State College of Dentistry, where he received his Doctorate of Dental Science. Dr. Jesse has also been selected, by his peers, as Top Dentist which wasfeatured inColumbus Monthly Magazine.
Dr. Jesse is an Invisalign Gold Plus provider and currently a member of theAmerican Dental Association,American Association of Orthodontics,Ohio Dental Association,Columbus Dental Society, Central Ohio Study Group ofSeattle Study Club,World Federation of Orthodontists, andAdvanced Dental Concepts Study Club.
Dr. Jesse and his wife Alison live in Columbus with their adorable puppy Rosco. Dr. Jesse enjoys running, working out, watching sporting events and participating in outdoor activities such as camping, mountain climbing, skiing and white-water rafting.

I dont think words can express the amazing and positive experiences we have had so far at Carmen Orthodontics. Dr. Jesse and his staff have been wonderful, kind, and welcoming from the moment we stepped in to the office on the first day, to when we were walking out a year later having completed Phase 1. We had the pleasure of having Ms. Molly almost every appointment, and today Ms. Kiki took Aubrey's braces off. They were always so sweet and talked us through every step. They took away any fears Aubrey had and answered every question. You can tell Dr. Jesse truly enjoys his career and I love how fun he makes the whole process. I am absolutely amazed at the difference a year has made thanks to Dr. Jesse's plan, and I'm so excited we are done with Phase 1. Aubrey's smile has always been beautiful, but it shines extra bight now. Thank you Dr. Jesse, Ms. Molly, Ms. Kiki, and all of the staff at Carmen Orthodontics! I HIGHLY recommend them to anyone looking for an ortho. You truly will not be disappointed.

Don't show up early for you appointment. Today was 10 min past scheduled time and last one was just under 30 min past scheduled time. I guess they do a good job, but it's just money in numbers for them. Staff seems to fear the father/son duo. I'm entertaining other options for child #2 since she'll be in braces within a few years. Everyone is nice, but being on schedule isn't a priority from my first hand experience. ***Update 7/9/20: Asked back to chair @ 4:10pm for my 3:50pm scheduled appointment. Arrived at 3:45pm for check-in. At least they're polite. ***Update 2/2/21: Asked back to chair 35 minutes past scheduled appointment time. More of the same. Most staff are polite but they herd cattle here folks. You're just a number and a paycheck. Son's braces come off next month and NOT SOON ENOUGH! They have zero consideration for you and your family's schedule.

i was VERY VERY DISSAPPOINTED IN MY VISIT. NOT ONLY IS THERE PARKING LOT TERRIBLE BUT, I WAS SENT TO DR. JESS FOR TMJ , I WAS TOLD AFTER MY SHORT 5 MINUTE EXAMINE , HE DID NOT BELIEVE I HAD TMJ . I JUST HAD POP N CRACKING IN JAW EVERYONE HAS THAT, NO THEY DONT.... I SAID I AM NOT JUST HERE FOR POP N CRACKING I WOULD NOT OF WENT TO THIS MUCH TROUBLE FOR POP N CRACKING . I HAVE HAD JAW PAIN FOR 7 MONTHS THEY WERE DONE WITH ME AFTER THAT SO I WAS NO BETTER OFF THAN WHEN I WALKED IN , NO HELP IN TRYING TO HELP ME FIGURE OUT WHY I AM HAVING THIS JAW PAIN HE WALKED OUT SAYING NICE TO MEET YOU BUT A HELPER SAYS WE CAN SELL YOU THIS 500.00 MOUTH PIECE I SAID I DONT HAVE 500.00 THEY WANTED THE MONEY RIGHT THEN ... I AM NOT IMPRESSED AND AM VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH THIS PLACE AND WILL Not be back !!!!!

My son was in to get his invitations put in today. He was already scared because he didn't know what to expect (even though my wife and I both have had braces and explained everything to him). I was with my son,keeping him calm and the doctor pulled me aside and told me that "it was my fault that my son was crying" even though his mouth was too small for the instruments they were trying to cram in there. The tech did a terrible job of explaining anything, and was constantly asking other techs how to do things. And instead of working with a frightened child, the Dr got short, said that it was all my child's fault and 9nly did the top row of teeth, didnt put the brackets in for the bottom and told me "its jist going to have to be like this because he won't let us in therd, you can pay for a whole new set of scans and everything and we can do this again at another appointment" and was very short and had an attitude. I am a veteran and have never had a doctor anywhere ever talk to me with such disrespect and attitude. Terrible bedside manner and if it were up to me, I would never take my son 8n there again. Absolutely disgusting display.

Carmen Ortho has the distinction of offering the best in clinical care but also a top notch patient experienced as well. As a referring dentist I get the pleasure of working with a lot of skilled specialist in and around Columbus but when I, myself needed orthodontics there was only 1 choice for where I would go... thanks Dr Ron, Dr Jesse and the great staff for starting my second orthodontist experience off so well. Now hurry up and straighten my teeth!

I was referred to Dr. Carmen from Aspen Dental where I initially went for an inquiry for Invisalign. The Aspen dentist said my case may be untreatable. I felt defeated and carried those words and its weight with me to my appointment. I broke out in tears when Dr. Carmen told me he could help. I'm a lady in my 30's who finally decided it was time to have a decent smile. This office gave me hope for the first time that this could be possible. I can't thank them enough for the hope I have already been given, and will gladly add the final star once my treatment is complete. Which I'm sure they will undoubtedly earn.
