Orthodontic appliances are made of metal, ceramic, or clear plastic. They may be removable or they may be brackets bonded to the teeth. By placing a constant, gentle force in a carefully controlled direction, braces slowly move teeth to the proper position.
Gone are the days when a metal band with a bracket was placed around each tooth. You can now choose clear ormetal brackets and, in some cases, Invisalign, which are removable. Wires are far less noticeable, and the latest materials are designed to move teeth faster with more comfort. In addition, we use cutting edgeheat-activatedwires, which are simply adjusted by rinsing with warm water. Today, any age is a great age to makeover your smile!
Treatment time varies and can last between one and three years, depending on several factors including age, treatment method, and how minor or severe your case is. A big factor in a successful treatment is you! The more involved and diligent you are, the more efficient your treatment will be. For children, receiving interceptive or early treatment can also help provide a quicker treatment time.

The orthodontic field was a natural choice for Dr. Jesse as a result of watching his father in the profession for his entire life. His favorite thing about being anorthodontistis the opportunity to take part in increasing the self-esteem and self-confidence of all his patients.
Dr. Jesse entered our practice upon completion of his orthodontic residency atCase Western Reserve University. Prior to that, he received his bachelors degree from the University of Michigan honors program. He then graduated cum laude from theOhio State College of Dentistry, where he received his Doctorate of Dental Science. Dr. Jesse has also been selected, by his peers, as Top Dentist which wasfeatured inColumbus Monthly Magazine.
Dr. Jesse is an Invisalign Gold Plus provider and currently a member of theAmerican Dental Association,American Association of Orthodontics,Ohio Dental Association,Columbus Dental Society, Central Ohio Study Group ofSeattle Study Club,World Federation of Orthodontists, andAdvanced Dental Concepts Study Club.
Dr. Jesse and his wife Alison live in Columbus with their adorable puppy Rosco. Dr. Jesse enjoys running, working out, watching sporting events and participating in outdoor activities such as camping, mountain climbing, skiing and white-water rafting.
