Orthodontic appliances are made of metal, ceramic, or clear plastic. They may be removable or they may be brackets bonded to the teeth. By placing a constant, gentle force in a carefully controlled direction, braces slowly move teeth to the proper position.
Gone are the days when a metal band with a bracket was placed around each tooth. You can now choose clear ormetal brackets and, in some cases, Invisalign, which are removable. Wires are far less noticeable, and the latest materials are designed to move teeth faster with more comfort. In addition, we use cutting edgeheat-activatedwires, which are simply adjusted by rinsing with warm water. Today, any age is a great age to makeover your smile!
Treatment time varies and can last between one and three years, depending on several factors including age, treatment method, and how minor or severe your case is. A big factor in a successful treatment is you! The more involved and diligent you are, the more efficient your treatment will be. For children, receiving interceptive or early treatment can also help provide a quicker treatment time.
Dr. Jesse Carmenis also a native of Columbus; he is Dr. RonCarmens son! The orthodontic field was a natural choice for Dr. Jesse as a result of watching his father in the profession for his entire life. His favorite thing about being anorthodontistis the opportunity to take part in increasing the self-esteem and self-confidence of all his patients.
Dr. Jesse entered our practice upon completion of his orthodontic residency atCase Western Reserve University. Prior to that, he received his bachelors degree from the University of Michigan honors program. He then graduated cum laude from theOhio State College of Dentistry, where he received his Doctorate of Dental Science. Dr. Jesse has also been selected, by his peers, as Top Dentist which wasfeatured inColumbus Monthly Magazine.
Dr. Jesse is an Invisalign Gold Plus provider and currently a member of theAmerican Dental Association,American Association of Orthodontics,Ohio Dental Association,Columbus Dental Society, Central Ohio Study Group ofSeattle Study Club,World Federation of Orthodontists, andAdvanced Dental Concepts Study Club.
Dr. Jesse and his wife Alison live in Columbus with their adorable puppy Rosco. Dr. Jesse enjoys running, working out, watching sporting events and participating in outdoor activities such as camping, mountain climbing, skiing and white-water rafting.

I was told we would love Carmen Orthodontics and they did not disappoint! I've been dreading the palate expander and braces for my 8 year old, but today's appointment was amazing! Everyone made my daughter calm and comfortable, spent time explaining things to her and even joking around! I am so happy that we decided to have our orthodontic services here! Highly recommended. Well worth the 40 min drive!!

I have been going through the process sense 08/22 so far so good. My only problem I have is some of the assistant are not to knowledgeable and do not try to find out anything.. you ask a question the only response I ever get is I'm not sure. They also are not to friendly especially if they have to do extra work. I am paying over 7 grand and this experience is new to me. I would think they know people have a lot of questions. Dr. Is great front desk are awesome. Will be back to give update..

I went to them for Invisalign treatment and have felt very pleased with my choice. They are all so great and made me feel that all my concerns were addressed. From Dr. Jesse, to the dental techs and assistants, to the scheduling coordinators and people at the front desk as well, they are a high quality team and establishment. It is no wonder they are one of the preferred places for orthodontic treatment in Central Ohio. I cannot recommend them highly enough!

Riley put on my braces for me yesterday morning at the Cbus office and she did fantastic! She made me feel very comfortable in an uncomfortable situation and I appreciate it greatly! She made sure I was doing good throughout the whole process and made sure I understood everything I needed to.

ADDENDUM: Thank you Dr. Carmen for taking time to come and speak with me at my last appointment. I appreciate you explaining the complexity of my case that involves muscle, tissue and a lot of science. This helps me better understand my care plan and the challenges we face. It has been just about a week now and the new technique used seems to be working. I have not had to call or come in for a visit and for that I am THANKFUL. I am looking forward to the continual progress. ____________________________________________________________ I was so eager to get braces especially as an adult the excitement was electric, I finally get the smile I want. I had so many questions. I was apprehensive at first because of the cost but decided that I was worth the investment. Well, my first vague answer came from the financial coordinator. I was really searching for an answer as to what happens if my braces do not work (I have implants which makes my case a little tricky). She refused to give me a straightforward answer and offered some textbook response and seemed annoyed at me trying to get a clear answer. THEN, my first visit I am super EXCITED right. I have questions, well the person putting on my braces, who I think is the supervisor told me to sit back and let her do her job. I was speechless, shocked and wasn't sure what to do. So I tried to make small talk just to lessen the embarrassment I felt. Now, here I am only 3 weeks of getting my braces and the brackets have come off 3 times. Now, I was told this might happen but this seems excessive -it means I have to go back into the office each time so frustrating! Not sure what the future holds but we are sure off to a rocky start! On a brighter note, Dr. Carmen is really nice and seems to like to have fun and make people laugh.

Dr Jesse and staff are amazing! They are all so friendly and helpful. Our pediatric dentist Dr Leavitt referred us to Carmen Orthodontics because they are known for not pulling teeth to achieve a beautiful smile. HORRIBLE customer service. I was repeated the same exact sentence twice and told literally nothing else, like I was a child rather than being offered to talk to someone else or possibly helped in any capacity. I will never take my business here and I don't recommend anyone should.

Great experience for me. Staff is great and very friendly. They do a great job keeping you informed of your plan the entire way. Dr Jesse was fantastic. I was told 20-24 months for my Invisalign treatment and it was a very tough case. Through personal dedication and a great plan by Dr. Jesse I finished more than 3 months early. Very happy with the results and would 10/10 recommend to any of my friends and family that need orthodontic work.

First the dentists seem nice. However, I found another location that I liked better which was also much cheaper too. I went to go get a bubble on my gum checked (learned that only a general dentist can do that). I talked with the office for a possible braces and everything moved so fast and made a $1000 deposit for $7600 work. I decide to go with another office after some research and tried to cancel the second day. The medical coordinator convinced me to think it over and first see the other office for eval. I did and liked the other office which was much cheaper. I called to cancel five days from my appt day to get braces. BUT she told me the dentist already started a plan and to cancel I will have to pay $350. I got 0 treatment and only had a consultation. They will only refund me the remaining $650. I would say DO NOT SIGN OR PAY DURING AN EVALUATION. I was told the consultation is free but now I am looking at it side ways.

Our experience here was absolutely wonderful and we would recommend this orthodontist to everyone!! We really enjoyed our experience here with everyone and coming here was the best decision we could have made! Can't say enough about this office. I went to multiple other orthodontic offices and they all said I'd need double jaw surgery considering my age. Carmen was the only office who talked me through my options, and we were able to avoid surgery saving me tens of thousands of dollars. They were patient through the process and let the treatment run its course. I didn't think these results were possible. I highly recommend and I'm blessed to have found them!
