Dr. Burke obtained a dental degree in Colombia, her native country, where she practiced for ten years. In 2008, she moved to the United States and attended Loma Linda University Dental School in California, where she graduated with a DDS. She is certified with the Integrative Biologic Dental Medicine Association. Dr. Burke has also received in-depth training in ozone therapy and the Safe Mercury Amalgam Removal Technique (SMART certified). In addition she continues to be an active member of the IAOMT (International Academy of Oral medicine and toxicology) and Holistic Dental Association (HDA).
Dr. Burke has merged her love of holistic health and dentistry. Her philosophy is to educate every patient in order to provide awareness of the importance of maintaining good oral health, as the immune system starts in the gut, and the gut starts in the mouth. Consequently, every material placed in the mouth will affect the overall health. Dr. Burke has a conservative approach to dentistry; she believes in not over diagnosing or doing more than necessary. She promises to treat her patients how she would her family. In addition, she is an advocate of continuing education in conventional and holistic dentistry in order to offer her patients the latest and safest materials, procedures and technology.
She currently lives in Boulder with her husband and two young children. Together they enjoy Colorado and all the outdoor activities it has to offer. Dr. Carmen Burke is a caring, gentle holistic and family dentist, who loves to establish strong and long lasting relationships with kids and adults.
Growing up in Latvia I became connected to nature from a very early age. There was almost an ethos about the way we treated what we put in our bodies and the earth. My philosophy is that our bodies have innate wisdom for healing, and my goal is to guide my patients to their optimal oral health by using biocompatible materials and finding the root cause of their symptoms.
I met Dr. Burke when I was a 4th year dental student. I was looking for opportunities that align with my beliefs, and fortunately for me Dr. Burke was looking for someone to join her practice at the same time. The rest is history!
I feel that a building a two-way, trusting relationship with a patient is one of the most important aspects of dentistry. So for me its important for patients to get their care in an environment thats warm, respectful, well organized, and calm. I pride myself in being empathetic, welcoming and a good listener, and have found these qualities to be vital in my dental career.
Dr. Alexis Brown was born and raised in Centennial, Colorado but moved to Mansfield, Texas when she was a teenager. She attended Texas A&M University and completed her Bachelors of Science Degree in Biology in 2008. She then went on to study at Baylor College of Dentistry and received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 2013. She married her high school sweetheart, Michael, and after enjoying many summer trips to Colorado together, they finally decided to move their growing family back to her native state in 2014. Together they now live in Arvada with their three children and enjoy hiking, cooking, and many sports.
I love dentistry because of the real personal and authentic connections I get to make with people and their families every day. Developing this strong interactive relationship with patients is the foundation I strive for and what makes my job amazing. Not only do I help people transform their smile and confidence but also their general health by having a healthy mouth. What has drawn to me holistic and biological dentistry is my conservative and minimally invasive treatment philosophies, continual quest for learning, and to understand the root cause of symptoms and diseases. This is what brought me to Family Holistic Dentistry, where the entire team is dedicated to delivering this with the best care and the highest standards.
Hi, Im Kija. Im from Boulder, and met Dr. Burke in July 2016 when I became her dental assistant. Prior to that I spent 5 years working at the Cleveland Museum of Art after completing my MA in Literature at the University of CO in 2011. Meeting Dr. Burke and discovering holistic dentistry has been a blessing in my life and helped me implement the changes needed to thrive in mind, body, and spirit. As Dr. Burkes office manager Im able to interact with like-minded people and help patients ease any fears or anxieties about coming to the dentist. I love to help people by making them feel comfortable, listened to, and well cared for. After years of experiencing some health issues, Ive found alternative treatments in ozone therapy, diet, homeopathy, and acupuncture to be the best remedies. Emotional and spiritual well-being and physical health are of course interrelated and Dr. Burke provides opportunities and guidance for healing and nourishment to her staff as well as her patients.

The doctors and staff here are the best I've ever seen. I've had multiple crowns and fillings so far, and I am so happy with their work. They don't hesitate to make you at ease and comfortable. I am so happy to have their help in repairing my past dental work and I plan on taking my whole family to them from now on.

Dr Burke and her team are the absolute best! Everyone, everyone, literally everyone, at the office is so kind and professional. They all went above and beyond to help me navigate the logistics of having oral surgery six hours away from home. I am so very grateful for this dentist office. I would happily make the six hour drive, twelve really, if I ever need anything other than a toothcleaning again.

I found Dr. Burke after having visited "The BioDentist" in Denver and being given a $40,000 estimate for Cavitation surgery and mouth restoration. It should be noted that there are a LOT of dentists in Colorado that claim to be holistic but only a handful are TRULY holistic and practice bio-dentistry. It is important when you seek a holistic dentist that they perform the following protocols in relation to an extraction, root canal or surgery: 1) Do not use/offer nitrous oxide / instead use frequencies to calm the nervous system 2) Diagnose using a cone beam cat-scan and not just X-ray 3) Use ozone & oxygen as well as ozonated water in the mouth 4) Use bone graft so as not to leave a hole in the jaw 5) Use laser and remove the ligament underneath a tooth 6) Draw your blood, spin it out and use PRF in the socket 7) Use homeopathic remedies at the office 8) Sending any infected tissue to a lab for analysis of pathogens post-op\ 9) Will not typically prescribe anti-biotics If your "holistic" dentist does not do all of these things then you are not doing enough to ensure that the bone grows back and you are preventing cavitations and infections on root canals, extractions etc. I thoroughly interviewed this office before making the decision to come here. I just had my surgery yesterday - one extraction and the cleaning out of all four wisdom teeth bone cavitations. I took no drugs, and was very relaxed during the procedure. All of the proper steps were taken care of to ensure that the infections were cleaned out and that the bone will grow back properly. FYI if you have ever had a root canal or tooth removed by a "Conventional" dentist I can almost guarantee that you have a cavitation that is smoldering with infection. When dentists just leave a hole in the bone, what do you think happens over time in a wet, warm, dark hole in your jaw? The most disgusting pathogens build up and you would never know it because it won't cause pain or swelling like a traditional infection in the soft tissue since it's in your bone. As a naturopath myself I was very impressed with my surgery here, will be sending my clients here and I cannot wait to see what comes back on the samples that were sent to the lab. It is important to use homeopathic remedies to address SPECIFIC pathogens that were present in your body. I also recommend doing a round of colonics, vitamin C & Ozone IV's before and after surgery. All in it was about 6k with Dr. Burke which is very reasonable and on par with pricing in this space (besides the bio-dentist / Dr. John).

My second visit to the office today was with the new hygienist, Mary. Folks, I've never had my teeth cleaned by someone so thorough and gentle. She detailed every single square micrometer of my teeth. She worked like an angel with dragon powers. It was the best cleaning I've ever had in my life. Also, the entire staff far supersedes anything I thought possible from a dental office. I can't wait for my next visit!

Wow, wow, wow this office is amazing! From the Berkey water to the homeopathic medicine to help detox from getting x-rays or local anesthetic, to the bend over backwards helpfulness of the team at the front desk, it's clear how much they care about their patients. The technology in the office is state of the art and they try to get as much information as they can to keep your whole body healthy. I got a crown replaced by Dr. Jumtina and she was so humble, knowledgeable and friendly. She corrected some bad dental work that none of my previous dentists were able to figure out how to rectify. It's feeling so good now! Dr. Jumtina put me at ease with how skilled she is at all parts of the process. They do same day crowns and the technology is very fun to watch. I even learned a few things! If you care about your health and want to find a dental team with integrity, compassion and all the skills, this is the place!

I have so many great things to say about Dr. Burke, Dr. Jumtina, and their remarkable staff that I don't know where to begin. They are the most professional, skilled, and compassionate team I have witnessed anywhere. 2 1/2 years ago I came in as a new patient not in very good shape, with numerous cavities (some cosmetic) and mercury amalgam fillings. Dr. Burke got me on a treatment plan and restored all my cavities, and Dr. Jumtina expertly removed all my amalgam fillings. Today I'm cavity and mercury free, feeling healthier than ever, and I'm so happy that I chose this team to be my dentists. To say I'd highly recommend them is an understatement; I'm convinced they're one of the top dentist offices in the U.S. Thank you so much for taking such good care of me, I will always be grateful!!

Going to the dentist is rugged business sometimes. And yet, it's very important for your general health. Dr Burke is the best! She has inspired me to take better care of my teeth. She does everything she can to help me feel comfortable during visits and is always in an upbeat, friendly mood. I feel a great confidence in her knowledge and skills - she takes ongoing courses to keep learning about new products and procedures. I also feel she uses the best, cleanest dental materials, including a BPA-free composite material. The whole office has a friendly, calming vibe; the nicest people ever! I trust Dr Carmen Burke. Best dentist I've ever had and at 67 years, I've had a few. Now I am replacing old work; each time my teeth look more beautiful and feel more secure.

I actually had a very nice time at the dentist today! This was my first visit to the Family Holistic Dentistry office - everyone was very kind and went out of their way to make me feel comfortable. At times I felt like I was in a spa! And I really appreciated the level of natural holistic care/preventative options provided to me. So happy to have found an new dentist office to call home!

I am so grateful for Dr. Burke, Kija, and Marie! I've been seeing Dr. Burke for over a year when she did a necessary extraction on an infected tooth (which was why I went to see her), several fillings/repair on a few other teeth as well as ozone services. I've been to a handful of holistic and biological dentists in the past so it's not my first rodeo, but Dr. Burke and her staff definitely shine above the rest in terms of holistic knowledge, advanced technology, and customer service. I've recommended Dr. Burke to everyone I know in Colorado (and even beyond Colorado!), and even though I live mostly out of state now, I will always go back to her when I'm back in Colorado or when I need any work done.
