I have wanted to be an orthodontist for as long as I can remember. I love working with all age groups, but especially have a passion for working with young people. Dr. Miller has built a reputation in our community for his gentle touch when it comes to orthodontic treatment. Not only is he able to create beautiful, healthy smiles for his patients, he does so in a time-effective, painless manner. Together with his hand-picked, highly-trained staff, Dr. Miller spends time getting to know each patient and then works with them to develop a treatment plan that works with their goals and their lifestyle.
Throughout the treatment process, lasting friendships naturally develop between Dr. Miller and his patients. These friendships make the work he does very rewarding. As he gets to know people, great stories and laughter are exchanged with each visit. Knowing that work not only allows him to make positive changes in a patients life, but that his day will be filled with meaningful interactions involving friends old and new, Dr. Miller really looks forward to a day in the office. There are always plenty of great smiles.
Understanding that it is imperative to stay current with developments in his field, Dr. Miller actively pursues continuing education opportunities through seminars, lectures, and conferences. He also takes online training courses and participates in the Sonar Study Club, which is a local affiliate of the Seattle Study Club.
Dr. Miller maintains professional affiliations with the American Dental Association and the American Association of Orthodontists. This allows him to connect with fellow orthodontic providers and to share in their gained wisdom and experience. It is also a way of working together to advance their field. The result is the best care available anywhere for his patients.
A native of Marion, Dr. Miller has called Carmel, IN home for more than 20 years. He and his wife, Mendi, have three sons, Jordan, Logan, and Ryan, and a daughter named Kiley. When not in the office, Dr. Miller stays active with golfing, tennis, cross training, biking, water and snow skiing, fishing, and hiking. He also coaches youth sports. Occasionally, Dr. Miller finds time to enjoy a book as well.
Being an orthodontist is my dream job. I have always been drawn to the creativity of the arts and the intellectuality of science, and orthodontic treatment involves a unique fusion of both. I feel so fortunate to be able to create beautiful, functional smiles in the community where I grew up. I am dedicated to providing excellent care and look forward to positively impacting the lives of patients of all ages. Dr. Sarah Baxter
Dr. Baxter (ne Heneghan) was born and raised in Zionsville and is a 2007 graduate of Zionsville Community High School where she participated in basketball, track & field, and show choir. Dr. Baxter attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill for two years and then transferred to Indiana University to complete her Bachelors degree in Biology. In college, Dr. Baxter was involved in numerous community service organizations and played club Ultimate Frisbee, and was consistently named to the Deans List. Her academic success earned her the opportunity to attend the University of Michigan School of Dentistry, where she thrived in her didactic, clinical, and research endeavors. Dr. Baxter graduated at the top of her dental school class and was accepted into the Orthodontics Residency at the University of Michigan, a three-year intensive program for specialty training in orthodontics. During her orthodontics residency, Dr. Baxter served as class president and received recognition for academic, clinical, and research excellence.
After seven years of dental training in Michigan, Dr. Baxter is thrilled to live back in her hometown of Zionsville with her husband Niel and their two cats. Niel is also a 2007 graduate of Zionsville Community High School and works as a research scientist at Elanco.
When shes not at the office, Dr. Baxter enjoys spending time with family and friends, trying new restaurants, tackling home improvement projects, decorating, traveling to warm destinations, and cheering on the Wolverines, Pacers, and Colts!

Dr. Ronald Miller, Dr. Sarah Baxter and our entire staff here at Carmel Orthodontics love our work. Every day begins with the knowledge that we are going to help our patients attain excellent oral health and beautiful smiles. The day passes with time to chat and catch up with our patients as we make any necessary orthodontic adjustments. And the work day ends with the satisfaction of knowing we have made positive changes in the lives of our patients. It is an incredible job and we are truly thankful for it.
We value each patient and the relationships we form with them. We tailor customized treatment plans that work with individually specific orthodontic needs and goals taking into consideration their lifestyle and activities. There is no single right way for orthodontic treatment, which is why we offer such a wide array of options that will work for you.
As a family-oriented practice, we have an open-door policy. Parents and siblings are welcomed into treatment areas to see what is happening and to be with their loved ones. Should you prefer to stay in our waiting area, we have water, tea, a coffee bar, and a caf space with high-top tables where you can sit and work. We also have a game room and a movie room for little ones and big-kids alike!
Our practice has been created to meet the needs of our patients and their families. This includes our office hours. We are open early Tuesday mornings and see patients through the noon hour as well. You can come in for an adjustment during your lunch break. Should you have an orthodontic emergency, we will be able to get you right in.

Invisalign was great and Acceledent made things go quickly. The orthodontist made us feel like he was wanting to get to his next appointment because when my wife said her bite doesn't quite feel right, he didn't even check the bite with one of those bite papers. Only looked at the outside.

I trusted Dr. Miller and his team with my dream career of becoming a professional trumpet player during my orthodontic treatment plan. My case was rather complex, involving two years of braces and corrective double jaw surgery. The surgery itself was potentially career-ending as facial numbness could have discontinued my trumpet playing ability permanently. Through my worries and repeated questions, Dr. Miller always provided transparency and straight-forward answers. Also, his team was always incredibly friendly, gentle, and courteous while working on my teeth. I owe everyone at Carmel Orthodontics and my surgeon, Dr. Jeff Hockema, an enormous amount of gratitude. Today, because of my straightened teeth and corrected jaw, I play trumpet better than I ever could previously. Additionally, I now have far more confidence with my smile and teeth than ever before. I wholeheartedly recommend Carmel Orthodontics to anyone looking for orthodontic treatment.

Dr. Miller and his staff are incredibly caring, loving and attentive to detail! My daughter and I have used him for Invisalign and regular braces. I would highly recommend him and his staff! Their scheduling works perfectly with our school and activity schedules. There is never a wait. They have an amazing rewards program and my daughter earned a 2 hour limousine ride with friends. If you go for a consultation, you will not be disappointed!

This is a wonderful office. We are 10 months into and 18 month plan and braces have been so easy for our family (and although my daughter was excited about braces (?) we parents were kind of dreading it. The office is bright and meticulous, and everyone who works there is friendly, professional, and always prompt and efficient. My daughter loves to see the appointment on the calendar. There is always a contest running and fun activities for the patients. And the practice is completely plugged in and the website and text reminders are so helpful. I really can't imagine how I think they could improve. Make an appointment instantly. I highly recommend this office to anyone! I have had such a wonderful experience with everyone who works here! She makes you feel so comfortable with the treatment that is going on with each individual. She explains everything from start to finish so nothing hits you with a surprise! After many years of thinking i wouldn't have a perfect smile, she made a miracle happen. I couldn't have asked for a better Orthodontist! Her staff is so wonderful and helpful. Thank you again and again for making my smile beautiful! Outstanding.

We have taken all 3 of our kids to Ron & his staff. They are very attentive and straight forward with costs, care, and following through. 2/3 kids needed braces. Now that we are almost finished with our youngest, we will miss visiting with everyone as often. The million dollar smiles on my kids' faces say it all!!!
