Jenny has been in the dental field for over 40 years. She was a Registered Dental Assistant for 27 years before she decided to further her career as a Registered Dental Hygienist. She has been a hygienist since 2007. Over the years Jenny has had the privilege of working with some top-notch dentists on the Monterey Peninsula, so she really knows excellent dentistry when she sees it. She loves her patients and her work, where every day she can educate her patients on home care and see positive results. You can always ask Jenny for her honest opinion and know you are getting the truth. She takes great care in her work. Jenny has two grown children and two grandchildren whom she loves spending her free time with. Because Jenny was born and raised on the peninsula, she is one of those people who seems to know everyone. She joined Carmel Family Dental because she knew the perfection and quality of work for every patient that is performed every day. Jenny's oral health obsession is making sure her patients are well educated about the oral health of their tissues. Her favorite moments at CFD are when you see the smile on someone's face and how happy they are with their new smile. When Jenny is not here perfecting your smile, you can always find her walking on the beach and enjoying the ocean.
Alison was born and raised in the Bay Area moving to the Cental Coast in 2016. She has been in the dental field since 2007 starting her career as a dental assistant. She graduated with a BS in Health Science from San Jose State University. Then achieved her Dental Hygiene degree from Southwestern College in 2013.
She has enjoyed her time working with Dr. Simonsonss team delivering gentle and thorough care to patients. Her passion is to help patients achieve optimal oral health. She prides herself on building a trusting relationship with patients and educating them on the connection between oral health and overall health.
Alison feels lucky to live and work in such a beautiful part of California with her husband Nick and their young daughter. She enjoys exploring the outdoors with her family. Hobbies include gardening, baking, hiking, and caring for her house plants.
Jackie joined Carmel Family Dental in 2017. Originally from Portland, Oregon, and after spending several years in the bay area, she settled here on the peninsula to enjoy a slower pace of life. She has an extensive background in Medical Administration and is very knowledgeable with insurance. In her free time, she loves to spend time with her husband, children, and grandson. On a weekend, you can usually find her on the beach with her trusted canine companion Milo.
Sonia is a San Jose native who moved to the Peninsula in 2017. She joined the CFD team in 2020 after being a nanny for Dr. Fritsch. Her current goal is to be accepted into the MPC Nursing program for fall of 2022 or 2023. During her free time, she loves spending time with her dogs and boyfriend, hiking, playing soccer, snowboarding, and listening to audiobooks. Her favorite hobby is gardening and taking care of her plant collection. She hopes to stay in the Monterey area for a while and someday work at CHOMP.
Tina, originally from the Central Coast graduated from the RDA program at MPC in 2016, She started working at Carmel Family Dental 2017. She loves helping her patients achieve their dental goals and feel more comfortable coming to the dentist office. Tina loves to learn, she is currently continuing her education to become a Dental Hygienist, and is hoping to get in to the Dental Hygiene program at Cabrillo. In her spare time, Tina loves to find new restaurants to try and going for walks with her 3 kids, husband and 2 dogs.
Shay, A California native, moved to the Monterey peninsula in 2018 while her husband was serving in the U.S Navy. She joined Carmel Family Dental that same year and has been an assistant since 2017. Shay loves to explore our beautiful coast and go hiking with her 2 dogs, a Newfoundland and yellow lab. She is currently attending Monterey Peninsula College, where she is completing her Pre-Dental Hygiene accreditation. She hopes to attend Cabrillo College for Dental Hygiene or Arthur Dugoni school of Dentistry in San Francisco to become an extended functions dental assistant.
Manel moved to California in 2011. She completed her Bachelors degree in Business Administration. She started at our office as an intern in 2018 and then officially joined our team. She graduated as RDA (Registered Dental Assistant) in 2018. She expanded her skills to perform more advanced restorative procedures by attending the EF2 program for a one year academy where she obtained her RDAEF2. Manel loves to go above and beyond for all her patients. Out of the office, she enjoys spending time with her family. She also enjoys shopping, doing projects around the house, and travelling. Her bucket list dream is to step foot on each continent of the world.

Staff is professional and friendly. Dentist and staff create a comforting environment and thoroughly explain your treatment plan. The dental hygienist was gentle and did a fabulous job. I am very happy with the results.

I am a founding patient of CFD. Great team, great service. The new owner, Dr. Simonsen, just replaced another old crown. Lightest touch of any dent I've had, perfect replacement crown. Love this dentistry!

Through my life, I've made several dentists wealthy enough to buy their dream cars! I was blessed with straight teeth, but that's it! I've had cavities, root canals, crowns, implants -- and now contemplating veneers fir my aging and chipped front teeth. I retired five years ago and moved to Carmel by the Sea from Los Altos. I found a great dentist in Monterey who was referred to me by my niece. Loved him but he recently sold his practice and moved out of California. I wasn't wild about the dentist who took over his practice, so started searching again. Must of the dentists my friends talked about were older and probably on the cusp of retiring. One person said she heard about Carmel Family Practice which was owned by women, I checked the practice out, made an appointment, and I was sold! From the receptionist who greeted me by name, to gge hygienist who was great and took her time to then meeting Dr. Simonsen. She was terrific! I like that she's younger so I can be with her until the day, hopefully, I hit the Pearly Gates! My next big ticket item will be veneers for my top front teeth because they are literally wearing out. I know I've found my new forever dentist! It's about time I provide a woman with her dream car!

Very clean, well-equiped office. Excellent staff, very friendly, caring, professional. Before my initial visit, asked the right questions about my preferences and wishes re: my dental needs. Very thorough exam, gentle care. I highly recommend this dental practice.

I will always feel indebted to Dr. Simonsen and her entire team at Carmel Family Dental for greatly improving my oral health and giving me my best smile ever as a bonus! Due to lots of procrastination and dental anxiety on my part, I needed a great deal of dental work done. I couldn't have been in better hands than with Dr. Simonsen and her assistant Manel, as they very gently and patiently worked on my teeth. They gave me tea and a blanket to calm me down and gave me lots of encouragement along the way. Amazingly, I never felt any pain! Dr. Simonsen is a perfectionist and ensured that I was 100% satisfied with the results. In addition, the office is kept immaculately clean and the equipment is state-of-the-art. I felt very comfortable there due to all their covid precautions, including multiple air filters and excellent air flow. It really did feel like a cheerful family there with support from Sonia, Jackie, Shay, and Jenny too. While it was not inexpensive, I think it was one of my wisest investments ever for my health and happiness.

I am not a resident of Carmel, but had a broken crown that needed to be fixed soon. They took me in and did a replacement procedure - all in 3 hours. The level of care, kindness and proficiency was exceptional! I am truly grateful.

This is an office where it's obvious people are happy to be at work. The doctor and assistances are engaged with whats going on with you (medically) and they have also work really hard to get insurance stuff worked out.

Everyone is always so friendly here. The environment is warm and welcoming. They truly care about your health and dental experience. Whenever someone is looking for dental care I always refer them to Carmel Family Dental.

Upon retirement a year ago, of my beloved dentist of over two decades, I never expected I'd ever find someone who might half fill his shoes. I'm still in shock that I did...and did so (thanks to the recommendation of three people in the Monterey area) barely a year later in the shape of the brilliant, caring, and amazingly creative Dr. Anne Simonsen. As if it wasn't enough to find an extremely gifted dentist I then discovered her amazingly smart and sensitive team, (those that have worked with me include Manel, Sandy, Shay, Shelby, Sonia and Jackie...but I 've no doubt the others I havn't met are equally amazing). Words cannot do justice to how each of these individuals have treated me since my first email to share the details of my challenging dental issues. All I can say is that anyone out there on a similar dreaded search that I was, for a compassionate and creative dentist (with a great team that work so well together) I suggest you get yourself and/ or your loved ones speedily to Carmel Family Dental. I promise you will be in safe hands. P.S. Added things I love about Carmel Family Dental include its commitment to being as environmentally friendly as possible and that not one staff member suffers the polly-anna-ish affliction one sees in too many similar practices today.

I've had multiple cleanings done here as well as longer procedures. The office is beautiful, clean, and everyone there is super friendly and sweet. They really make you feel welcome and comfortable during any dental work and time there spent! Love them!
