Carly Schneider is considered an expert in her Dental and Orofacial Myology and Myofunctional Therapy fields. She is considered a breathing specialist in the sleep apnea realm.Carly has been part of a sleep apnea clinic team for 6 years and works with many clinics, including Stanford.Her work has now been proven in the sleep apnea world to be effective in reducing AHI numbers by 50% in adults and 62% in children.Carly does a Cranial Nerve Assessment and integrates this therapy where needed. She works with all ages looking at the tongues movement and how the tongue is attached to the floor of the mouth. Other important areas of focus are: habit elimination (i.e. thumb sucking, pacifier, bottle feeding or lip biting), frenums, the swallow, tongue rest, narrow palates, proper teeth alignment, airway issues, jaw irritations, position, and growth, TMD (Temporal Mandibular Joint Disorder), speech, digestion, proper chewing and skeletal posture. The nervous system controls muscles, and facial and tongue muscles guide the bone in cranial development.When someone swallows incorrectly, or has a facial imbalance, this person adapts by over stressing some facial muscles and underusing other muscles. The over contracted muscles can move the cranial bones, facial structures, jaw and teeth in an undesirable position. Her work helps to providelong-termorthodontic retention.The under used facial muscles, can become slack and interfere with proper oral-facial function, stability, breathing and airway constriction.Every case is different, and some cases are treated much faster than others.Carlys specific education in Cranial Nerves is unique to all others in her field. Her main goal is helping the body gain maximum Oxygen to the brain so we have the greatest potential for all.Carly is also currently finishing up an 2 year Practicum inCranial Nerve Integration, Neurosequencing and Brain Mapping with Lois Laynee's Restorative Breathing Institute. She is trained in both levels of Masgutova Orofacial Reflex Integration as well as the Dynamic and Postural Reflex Integration. Carly is a graduate of the ALF Educational Institute and studied for her Masters Degree in Acupuncture at Pacific College of Acupuncture. We got to know Carly through Marin Dental Wellness over a year ago. I cannot tell you how great she is. She is not only very knowledgable in Orofacial Myology, but amazing with kids in so many different ways. She communicates very well, in ways kids can easily understand. She is friendly, not because she pretends to be, but that is her nature. My son made a huge progress in the past year or so, and he thinks she is just awesome. Carly has a way of being unconditionally giving and caring, and really being in the moment. I really love that about her. I highly recommend Carly!

Carly Schneider has really help me with my Sleep Apnea symptoms. I do not snore anymore, thanks to her. Carly has also taught my children to not mouth breath and to swallow correctly. This started to improve their crooked teeth position and the orthodontist was thrilled. They do not have stuffy noses anymore and their general focus and alertness is much better too.. She makes her work fun and the kids love coming to see her! I highly recommend her. No one in the area has her skill and experience.

Warm and fun, plus "zero stress" and able to meet the children where they are at (even on bad days!), Carly has been amazing with our eldest, who has a neurodevelopmental condition -- assisting with multiple issues, including TMJ, tongue placement and speech issues, and building her cheek muscle tone. And she saved us thousands with our youngest by remedying her bite issues -- our daughter was headed to major orthodontic work and our dentist was incredulous when she saw the change less than a year later.
