Each patient is evaluated with the understanding that they are a unique individual with specialized needs and not simply a name on a chart.
Dr. John Carlton, D.M.D. was born and raised in Natchez, MS. Following high school he played collegiate golf for 2 years at Copiah Lincoln where he won the junior college state golf championship. After retiring the golf clubs he attended Mississippi State University where he graduated Magna Cum Laude in 2004. He then attended UMMC School of Dentistry in Jackson, MS. Upon graduation he and his wife Marcie moved back to their home town hoping to make it their permanent home. After two years working as the dentist at a penitentiary they took a leap of faith and decided to open Carlton Family and Cosmetic Dentistry from scratch. On May 2, 2011 they opened the doors of their modest start up clinic. Luckily their community supported them and made the clinic a success. In December 2015 they moved to a state of the art new location equipped with the latest dental technology. Dr, Carlton is a member of the ADA, MDA and is currently the president elect of the 6th district of the MDA. He takes pride in his work and believes that the quality of his work is a reflection on him personally. Therefore, only the best materials available are used and his clinic is low volume as he believes it takes time to do quality work. Dr. Carlton and his wife have 3 children ages 6, 8, AND 10. When not at work or entertaining his children Dr. Carlton enjoys hunting, fishing, and playing an occasional round of golf.

I am proud to say that Dr. Carlton is my new dentist. I went for the first time yesterday and the atmosphere was great, the staff and the dentist were all so friendly and nice, and everyone made me feel so welcome. The office is very clean and nice inside. They do not over charge their patients and I can tell they go the extra mile to ensure their patients are comfortable. I am looking forward to going back soon for my next appointment. I would recommend this dentist to anyone!

This was by far my most pleasant dental experience in over 20 years! The entire staff staff was friendly, professional, and made me feel so welcome that it was as of I've been coming here for years and today was the first time that I'd met any of them. The doctor is courteous and knowledgeable; he should be cloned. Taylor is by far the sweetest hygienist ive met to date. Do not hesitate to book an appointment.....you won't be disappointed.

We just recently changed our family dentist to Carlton Family Dentistry. I'm a 27-year Army veteran, with decades of experience with some of the best (and worst) dental care all over the United States, Europe, and Asia. Dr. Carlton is definitely among the very best! The dental hygienists are just as amazing! Taylor took care of me, and Shelby took care of my wife. We've never had better care. The rest of the staff is courteous, friendly--and very professional. We owe them all some donuts as a special treat. If you're in the Natchez area, you owe yourself a visit to Carlton Family Dentistry. Even--or especially--if you think your current dentist is pretty good, but maybe not the best.

Absolutely the best dentist experience we have EVER had! We have lived all over the world and been to many different dentist and non of them can compare. Friendly and inviting environment and the dentist was so friendly and the work he did was amazing.
