I grew up in San Diego, California where I attended California State University San Marcos and obtained my undergraduate degree as a bachelor of science in Biochemistry. Before attending dental school, I worked at several dental offices in San Diego as an assistant and a lab technician and had a passion for the field early.
Dr. Sean Hariri attended Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry and graduated in 2008. Upon graduating, he moved with his best friend and classmate to the suburbs of Illinois where they opened two brand new, state-of-the-art dental practices in Elgin and Roselle, Illinois.
In 2013, Dr. Hariri made a decision to move back to his home town, San Diego, and be closer to his family. Dr. Hariri is an Invisalign preferred provider, Six Month Braces provider, ClearCorrect provider, Laser Certified, works with patients of all ages, performs nitrous sedation, and enjoys focusing on cosmetic and detailed surgical dentistry. Dr. Hariri has studied with Dr. Engel with the Engel dental implant institute and has worked extensively with Laser, Digital dentistry, and 3D imaging and radiographs for implant dentistry.
His style is comfortable conversation, guidance towards the best treatment and options, and educating his patients rather than high pressure, selling of dental treatment. Bianca joined the team in 2018 and is an integral part of navigating the dental insurance maze. She is responsible for coordinating our patients insurance benefits to help them obtain treatment. Bianca is very personable, patient and friendly and can answer any dental insurance you may have or inquires about treatment coverage. Bianca lives in San Marcos, enjoys spending time with her family and nieces. Bianca loves to travel and is very detail oriented. If you ever have an insurance related question, spend a minute with Bianca and she can help you through it. We are happy to have Bianca as part of our office team.
Tracy is a longstanding teammate at our practice. She knows all our patients by heart and is very experienced and knowledgeable. She assists Dr. Hariri through all procedures and sedation surgical procedures. She is personable, compassionate and goes out of her way to make our patients comfortable. Our dental nervous patients love her. Tracy loves kids and our kid patients do so well when they interact with her! Tracy enjoys spending time with her family on her time off and having fun with her daughter. Tracy has a great sense of humor and she loves to make our patients smile and laugh.

It has been Dr. Hariris dream and goal to bring quality focused, comfortable, and state-of-the-art dentistry to his home town of San Diego. My son had a tumor removed from the front of his mouth which took all four of his top front teeth with it, we went in for a consultation and Dr. Told us he could help. My son has been very self conscious since his surgery, and thanks to Carlsbad shores family dentistry's team he has a smile that has changed his life. Thank you sooo much! -Abe's mom!

Wow. The worst dental experience I have ever had. It was recommended I come back and get numb because I am so sensitive during my cleaning. At NO POINT was I ever asked if I was okay with an additional $258 charge for deep cleaning. I have received numbing before for cleaning, but never been charged. A laser was also used and I had to ask if it cost extra when they were just going to dive right in and use it. I left my appointment and had an unexpected $258 charge (that I paid - I didn't "refuse" as they said. That is a lie). The dentist's response was basically "sorry, it is what we did. Any other dentist would have done the same". Considering all my other dentists have never done that, I would have to say that is not the case. They would have at least ASKED me if an extra large cost was okay. Unbelievable. A cost like that matters to a family trying to make it by with a little one in daycare. I deserve the right to choose what I spend my money on.

I went in because I had an abscessed tooth . I walked out about 40 minutes later. The actual time spent being seen or having something done to me was about 20 min. After the initial exam I was shown what the cost was going to be to drain the abscess. I was shown a list of thing that needed to be done and the costs , $868 . I would have cut my losses and paid for the x-rays and exam and walked out, but it was a Friday afternoon and I was in pain. I check around and $ 868 was a ridiculously over priced. I felt like I had just bought a car with a advertised price of $30 but by the time you got the car like the ad , with all the hidden fees and added costs , I spent $60k . I would give 0 but 1 is the min. BTW I went because of the good reviews, I just figured the bad ones we just sour grapes . Nope they nailed it ! I already know what the owners response will be . " Not every Dentist treats thing the same way...blah.. blah .. blah

What an amazing Dr Hariri is along with his amazing and friendly staff. I have been scared of going to the dentist in the past and now I actually like to go. He is gentle, explains everything to me before any work is done. The office is warm, inviting with gorgeous decor. And the free cooffee is delicious also! I can not say enough good things about this place! Highly recommend! Thanks Dr Hariri for being so patient, kind and fabulous!!

I visited this dentist after moving here in 2018 when I was looking to establish care. I haven't had a cavity in my entire over 30 years of life and was looking forward to a good check-up. To my surprise, I was told I had "7 cavities" and needed fillings (no mention of sealants). This office showed me images and pulled out the extensive "pricing options" for treatment and fillings. This didn't sound right AT ALL, given that I had been seeing a great dentist every 6 months (in my previous hometown) and never heard a word about this. So, I went to get a second opinion. Turns out I had stains and not cavities which means no decay and no need for fillings - period. Even the most conservative dentist wouldn't fill a tooth that has only a stain and zero decay. Here I am 4 years later and still haven't had a cavity (zero decay) and haven't needed any fillings. This was a very shocking experience for me.

After a veneer popped off of my front tooth late one Friday, I tried unsuccessfully to get in touch with my regular dentist. I googled emergency dentists near me and found Dr. Hariri's office. When I called I was directed immediately to a number where he could be reached and he answered right away. He met me at 8 am the next morning at his office to fix my tooth. He is very gentle and precise and my tooth looks and feels better than the original placement. He also explained other options besides veneers in case I need to replace them in the future. I was very relieved to have been able to take care of my veneer so quickly as well as impressed with Dr. Hariri's expertise. I intend to use Dr. Hariri's office from now on for all my future dental care.

Last week I had a dental emergency and called Dr. Hariri's office to see if they can fit me in. Thankfully they were able to squeeze me in last minute. I have a huge fear of needles and Dr. Hariri was so gentle that I barely felt any pain. He and his staff are incredibly professional and I would highly recommend them to my friends and family.

I recently had my first visit to Carlsbad Shores Dentistry. Kimia my hygienist was very pleasant and gentle during my teeth cleaning. I also had some older fillings replaced. Dr Hariri is compassionate and made every effort to take the anxiety out of my visit. I'm very happy I've found my family dentistry!

I have had severe, irrational anxiety over going to the dentist for years, which was lead me to some pretty serious dental problems. A severe infection in my jaw is what finally forces me into the dentist. Dr. Hariri and his staff are beyond professional! They asked all of the right questions; they are kind, supportive, patient, mon-judgemental, funny, welcoming. I cried after my first appointment. I cried because I took that first step to conquering the irrational fear I've held onto for so many years and because I finally found a provider and team that I can trust and feel safe with! I cannot express enough my gratitude for Dr. Hariri and his staff.

I first saw Dr. Hariri on a emergency basis as I was experiencing a lot of pain from a cracked tooth. He was very professional and friendly and im pleased with the results. The staff was great as well. I would definitely recommend Carlsbad Shores Dentistry to my friends and family.

I've been going here for about a 3 years now, and I must say Dr. Hariri and his staff are excellent. Dr. Hariri takes his time and is the most caring dentist I've had. There is nothing bad I can say, and the good is way too long to list. It's always a pleasure going here. I have, and will continue to recommend going to this office. You don't find dentists like this very often.

My dentist Dr Hariri is extremely professional, caring and meticulous. I came in with an extremely painful tooth and never felt any pain or discomfort during the procedure. Dr Hariri took the time to explain every procedure he was doing and provided valuable advice. They are very thoughtful, aware, and concerned about every patient. This is the best dental practice I have ever visited. I wish I had switched to them sooner. Great attention and service. I highly recommend Dr Hariri to everyone and anyone.

I followed Dr. Hariri from Chicago to San Diego only because of his attention to detail and perfectionism. I am a dental lab technician and I know perfect. I had all my front teeth done in a smile makeover. I have never had a more comfortable dental experience in my life. I had absolutely no pain during and after. My completed smile looks phenomenal. I look 10 years younger and I receive compliments from friends and family continuously. The shape and shade of my teeth are perfect, spot on. My teeth were my worst part of my looks and my life has changed completely. Thank you Dr. Hariri, it was worth the trip and Dr. Hariri is one of the best cosmetic dentists in the west!

Dr. Hariri, thanks for your response. Sad to say you are lying. At no point was it ever explained to me that my insurance couldn't be used. At no point was it explained that the promotion was for people with no insurance. In my last call to your office I asked one of your ladies to please send me a copy of the advertisement. Conveniently, she informed me that they had no copies of it. Today, in the UT I actually saw an advertisement about a special for a complete implant for $1899. It doesn't mention any parameters as to who can or can't take advantage of the offer. You could put this to rest by posting your advertisement proving me to be the one wrongly accusing you of a scam. I will be looking for it. Dr. Shahram Hariri in Carlsbad, CA is running a scam! I went to him as I saw an advertisement in which he would do a complete implant for $1999. Having had 2 previous implants I decided to take the offer. It turns out that when the time came to him to initiate the implant his office staff informed me that I had to 2 options. One was to pay the $1999 out of pocket or two, use my insurance but then be charged the usual fee of about $6600. In checking with my dental insurance to see if they would pay their portion of the advertised $1999 full cost of implant, they informed me that they would pay their portion, about 70% and I pay the balance. The only problem was that Dr. Hariri's office would not submit the claim to Delta Dental as they said I had to choose from the 2 options I have listed. Their last explanation was that they were offering the $1999 offer to people with no insurance. That was something that was not in their advertisement or was told to me by anyone in his office. This is a definite scam. Dr. Hariri is offering a promotion that he is not willing to honor. I will never go to him again.

Dr.Hariri and the staff are the best. I had some issues in the past with other dental work being infected and that would cause worse pain than the actual issue. But the work from Dr. Hariri - I had zero issues afterwards. And him and the staff were friendly and warm. I look forward to going back!

I have been going to Carlsbad Shores Dentistry for over 5 years now, and I would highly recommend them to anyone! They are very thorough and always make you feel comfortable and safe. Even during the COVID pandemic, they pay extra attention to details, cleanliness and safety for every patient. The environment is very peaceful and the equipment they use is up to date. I always feel they pay special attention to treat you with respect and courtesy. I am grateful for Dr. Hariri and his staff for their excellent work and support.

Have been going to Carlsbad Shores Dentistry since relocating to Carlsbad two years ago. In addition to periodic cleanings, have had two new crowns and several old fillings worked on. Dr. Hariri and his staff have been very professional and welcoming during each visit, always taking time to answer my numerous questions. He employs the latest technology and his work demonstrated has been top notch.
