I was born in the mean streets of Los Angeles. I grew up in Dog Town Public Housing, where I was influenced up to the age of twelve. Crime and poverty were great motivators for my immigrant parents, who both worked hard labor, to seek a better way of life for my two younger brothers and me.My first dental visit was at age twelve, and it was a great experience. The dentist was nice and allowed me to pick a toy out of a drawer following the dental work. This experience convinced me that I wanted to be like this dentist who gives toys out to kids.
Through my familys hard work and Gods grace, I was able to move out to El Monte, California, for junior high school and high school. By age seventeen, I was a registered dental assistant, worked in a dental office, and loved working in dentistry.
I graduated from Pasadena City College, Cal State Los Angeles, and UOP in San Francisco. I still love dentistry and learning. My continuing education far exceeds that required by the California Dental Board on a yearly basis. I have been treating orthodontic patients for over twenty years and utilize the most advanced system in the world.
We have the rare honor of owning a bit of history. The office of Dr. Carlos A. Tamayo is housed in the Patterson/Hartveld Ranch House and is one of several buildings on the 5,000-acre ranch owned by wealthy New York farmer John D. Patterson.
The home itself was built in 1905 for the manager of the Patterson Ranch Company, John Ruope. In 1917, after a subdivision, the home and 153 nearby acres were bought by ranch foreman Peter Hartveld, a native of Holland. The Hartveld family lived there until 1987. A great example of Neoclassic architecture, the house features columns with Corinthian capitals and three-part Palladian windows under broad eaves. The ballast hip roof is repeated in miniature in the smaller dormer window.

If you want to get scammed come to this place. Horribly service. First off, they false advertise for you to actually make an appointment. Second, they verify with insurance and you prices before any procedures. Then, once you are done and they lured you in, it's a different price and you end up paying way more out of pocket. They charge insurance full price and you also. Beware they commit fraud.The front desk receptionist are rude and very immature. Save your time and money and go somewhere else!!!! I went to the location in Oxnard, Ca 710 S "B" St.
