Orthodontics is the branch of Dentistry that specializes in the diagnosis, prevention and treatment of dental and facial irregularities, usually with braces (brackets and wires attached to the teeth).
The American Association of Orthodontists recommends an initial examination no later than age seven. By age 7, enough permanent teeth have come in and enough jaw growth has occurred, that problems can be identified. Sometimes, however, the need for Orthodontic treatment is evident much earlier, and that is when a visit to a General or Family Dentist becomes important since very often they get to see the child before the Orthodontist. The need for Orthodontics is easily justified when crowding or malpositioned teeth are evident. The need is less likely to be noticed in many cases. Some are listed below: Early or late loss of baby teeth Difficulty chewing or biting Crowding, malpositioned, or blocked out teeth Jaws that shift or make sounds Biting the cheek or roof of the mouth Teeth that do not meet at all Jaws and teeth that are out of proportion to the rest of the face Finger sucking or pacifier habits continued beyond the age of six
Orthodontics, like other dental specialties, offers new advances and techniques that may not have been popular or available ten years ago. Some of these techniques make it easier and more appealing to undergo orthodontic treatment. The newest trend in the orthodontics techniques market. Promoted under several trademarked names, including 'six month braces', offers to treat only the front teeth or smile or cosmetic zone without attempting to fix any problems with the bite or the back teeth, and do it in a short period of time of about six months. This appeals to individuals that may be ok with wearing braces for a few months in order to get a nicer smile.
Dr. Carlos Boudet graduated in 1980 from the Medical College of Virginia with a DDS degree and accepted a commission as second liutenant for the United States Public Health Service. His tour of duty ended in 1982 when he was given an award for outstanding service and was asked to serve as Dental Director of four dental clinics for Florida Community Health Centers, Inc.
Dr. Boudet is a Diplomate of the International College of Oral Implantologists, a member of the Central Palm Beach County Dental Society and Past President of the board of directors of the Atlantic Coast Dental Research Clinic. Dr. Boudet enjoys writing and his articles have been published in several popular dental magazines.

Had an extreme dental emergecy under a crown. Although Dr. Boudet specializes in restorative stuff they took me in. After 1.5 hours of grueling surgery I ended up pain free. Thanks

Dr. Boudet and his staff are very professional and always go out of their way to make your experience a pleasant one. I have been going to him for many years. There is no waiting for days to have a crown done as he has the latest equipment and you are out of there in just a few hours!!! Awesome dental work!!!

I started going to Dr. Boudet in August 2015 and I've been a patient ever since! His calm demeanor won me and my husband over at our first meeting. Through our journey I've had braces, 9 dental implants, a few fillings and a frenectomy. My teeth were a mess. I had a massive overbite and TMJ. I've always hated going to the dentist, so I delayed getting the necessary dental work done. After meeting Dr. B's team, I now look forward to going to his office and getting greeted by Gladys, Ginny or Marlen. They are awesome! Dr. Boudet is the most patient dentist. Ever!!! He takes his time to explain every procedure and I've never felt rushed while I'm in his chair. He makes sure that I do not experience ANY discomfort or pain. He calls to follow up after EVERY procedure he's done to make sure I'm doing ok. He is the best. Thank you Dr. Boudet for giving me my smile and confidence again. I am a patient for life!

Going to the dentist can be a scary thing for most people, but as soon as I walked into Dr. Boudet's office I felt at home. His office has a peacefull atmosphere and his staff is very pleasant. I did not wait very long for him to see me and when he did, he took his time, listened to any of my concerns and was very thorough. Overall I highly recommend Dr. Boudet. He is EXCELLENT! UPDATE just brought my 8yr old son and in his words "best dentist... I didn't feel a thing!"

I've had several cleanings from Dr. Boudet as well as having my wisdom teeth pulled. My experiences have all been great. I was nervous about having my wisdom teeth pulled but it was actually pretty painless and quick healing. I thought he had a very calming demeanor about him and was concerned about any discomfort that I may have been having. For those of you who are afraid of going to the dentist, this is your guy.
