To Dr. Thomas Neslund, family and health are incredibly important. His passion has always included promoting good oral health and helping people achieve a beautiful smile that they're comfortable showing off. To him, using positive reinforcement to create a healthy dental experience that exceeds expectations is second nature. Of course, part of that mission is also staying ahead of the latest advancements and breakthroughs in the field, which is why hes studied extensively with the Seattle Institute for Advanced Dental Education (SPEAR) since 2000. He is also currently a member of the American Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, and the Pennsylvania Dental Association.

During his undergraduate education, Dr. Neslund attended the Indiana University of Pennsylvania to earn his BS in Natural Sciences and minor in Economics in 1986. He would then go on to earn his DMD degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine in 1990. Soon after, he found himself on an interesting path to furthering his career while making a difference in peoples lives. Later that year, he was commissioned by the U.S. Public Service known as the Indian Health Service. During his assignment to the Choctaw Indian Reservation in Philadelphia, Mississippi, he expanded his knowledge in many facets of dentistry, including restorative, endodontic, surgical and pediatric dentistry while completing his four-year commitment to helping others. After returning to the area in 1998, Dr. Neslund worked in Baltimore, Maryland and Carlisle, eventually opening Carlisle Family & Cosmetic Dentistry.

Even outside of the dental office, you can find Dr. Neslund working to promote positive health for people of all ages with his wife Nancy. During his time at IUP, he played soccer for four years for the Crimson Hawks. In more recent years, he was an assistant coach for the Carlisle High School Girls Soccer Team and a Youth Soccer coach for six years. He was also a former YMCA Soccer Board Member. Today, he is a Board Member for the Partnership for Better Health, a foundation based in the community that promotes local and regional health.

Dr. Alex Benner was born in Florida and then spent his formative years along the east coast and overseas. Patients have commented that Dr. Benner is pleasant, considerate, understanding, and attentive to his patients well-being. The nature of dentistry is personal, and Dr. Benner strives to foster long term relationships with his patients by performing high quality work that lasts a lifetime in a relaxed setting.

Over the past decade of Dr. Benner's involvement in the field of dentistry, he has observed and empathized with patients' anxieties and fears, which has helped to shape his demeanor and chairside manner. Care, understanding, expert workmanship, and mutual trust are the cornerstones of his practice. In fact, he was voted 'Top Doc' in Philly Magazine several times.

Dr. Benner was blessed to have exceptional mentors guide him through his decision to enter the field of dentistry. With a strong interest in science, as well as a desire to have daily and impactful interaction with people, dentistry was a perfect match. It is a career where he can help others and use his talents to directly affect good in his community.

Dr. Benner graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a Bachelor of Science and a supplemental major in Chinese. He earned his DMD from Temple University, where he was awarded a scholarship for scholastic achievement and served as president of his class. Interestingly, he lived a number of years in China and graduated high school from the International School of Beijing.

Dr. Benner furthered his dental education at Jefferson University Hospital, one of the countrys foremost residency programs. There he gained extensive experience in treating medically compromised patients, implant dentistry, cosmetic dentistry, and complete oral rehabilitation cases.

Dr. Benner strives to provide the highest level of comprehensive dental care with minimally invasive and conservative techniques. He has been comprehensively trained for teeth in a day or all on 4 style tooth replacement as well as for placing implants in areas with limited or no bone. Because of his work in the field of implantology, he has been awarded as a Fellow of the International Congress of Oral Implantology.

Dr. Benner shares a love of the outdoors with his wife and daughter. Many weekend afternoons are spent hiking through Michaux State Forest taking in the beauty and peace of nature. He also enjoys coaching and mentoring middle school softball and basketball teams in faith, discipline, and excellence.
