Dr. Prota was raised in Branford, Connecticut where he graduated from Branford High School with honors in 1979. He attended Providence College where he graduated Summa Cum Laude in 1983. While at Providence College he was elected to the National Pre-Medical Honor Society. In 1986, he graduated first in his class from Fairleigh Dickinson University, College of Dental Medicine where he received numerous awards and was elected to the National Dental Honor Society. He is an active member of the American Dental Association and the Connecticut State Dental Association. He lives in East Haven with his wife, Maria, and two children, Matthew and Katherine. In his spare time, he enjoys raising his children, travel, and photography.

Dr. Prota is a great and very caring dentist and we have been patients for years. He has performed dental implants for us as well as a wide range of preventive dental procedures . We recommend him to all our friends and family and are extremely satisfied with his work and professionalism. He uses the latest tools and techniques and takes away all the apprehension associated with going to the dentist. We highly recommend him!

I am completely satisfied with the safety precautions taken by Dr. Prota and his staff during this pandemic. This is my second visit during the pandemic and they have been exceptional in their service. Christine is an amazing technician and the cleaning service she provides is exceptional. I will happily return when my next appointment is due.

I have been coming to Dr. Prota since he began his practice many years ago. He and his entire staff are like family to me. They treat every patient this way. Professional, friendly and above all they take a real interest in you and your oral health. I will not trust my oral health to anyone else. His office utilizes the latest in technology and he has many years of experience with all types of dental needs. If you have had bad experiences before with visits to the dentist, you owe it to yourself to make an appointment with Dr. Prota. You wont be disappointed.

I started seeing Dr. Prota when his office was on Route 80 and he worked with Dr. Brini. That was probably around 30 years ago and I have never had a bad experience. Christina, who has been doing my cleanings for the past few years has been awesome! Sonya and the office staff are great too. Would recommend if you are looking for a new dentist!

You will never need to go to another dentist again. The hygienists there are so gentle you don't even realize their working on your mouth. It is a nice relaxing atmosphere with state of the art equipment and Dr.Prota is an awesome guy ,he tells it like it is to you and doesn't try to accumulate nonsense charges On your bill for exams or xrays you don't even need. Don't hesitate if your thinking about trying this dentistry practice. This place & these people are top notch & masters at their craft.

I have to say it was the best (and I mean this) cleaning of my life. I had a few bad experiences in my youth with dentists but Dr Prota and his staff (especially Christina his dental hygienist) has given me an entirely different outlook on a health mouth. I feel so much better about my oral hygiene than I have ever felt before. Thank you !!

I don't write reviews often but really wanted to get the news out.. If you are looking for a new dentist this is the practice and dentist you have been waiting for. Dr. Carl Prota is a dentist with great concern for his patients. He takes the time to talk to you and help you with all your concerns. He is professional and stays abreast of all the newest procedures for your dental health. His staff is friendly and courteous and all in the office are caring professionals. The dental hygienist is very thorough and gives excellent care while doing a very professional cleaning. I cannot recommend Dr. Prota and his practice more highly. If you are unhappy with your current care, or need your first dentist for your child or just want a second opinion this is the practice you should contact.
