Jenkins Carl DDS

Jenkins Carl DDS - General dentist in Watsontown, PA
315 Main St, Watsontown, PA 17777

Dr. Jenkins has devoted much of his time outside the office to continuing dental education, both for himself and others. In July 2005, Dr. Jenkins received his Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry in Washington, DC. In July 2007, he progressed to receive the AGDs prestigious Mastership award.

To earn the Fellowship Award, dentists must complete 500 hours of continuing dental education and pass a comprehensive written exam given by the AGD. To date, only 6% of dentists in the US and Canada have earned Fellowship honors. The Mastership award requires completion of more than 1,100 hours of continuing dental education in the 16 disciplines of dentistry, including 400 hours of hands-on courses. Currently, less than 2% of dentists have earned Mastership honors.

Volunteerism is another central component of Dr. Jenkins work. Much of his time has been spent helping the less fortunate get the dental care they desperately need. During and after dental school Dr. Jenkins traveled to the Dominican Republic providing dental care in that countrys mountain communities. He has volunteered his time locally in dental clinics for underserved populations throughout his career. He also spent 2 1/2 years flying in bush planes and treating the Eskimo population of Alaskas Seward Peninsula.

Dr. Jenkins has served his profession on many state and national organizations. He has previously served as the district president for our region of the Pennsylvania Dental Association. He has served as public information officer for the Pennsylvania Academy of General Dentistry and on their board of directors. He has also served nationally with the Academy of General Dentistrys Public Information Council.

I was a nervous mess walking into Dr. Jenkins office. I needed to teeth extracted and it was my first time! He and his staff were the most patient and understanding and really made me feel a lot better about the whole ordeal. They took their time and answered any questions I had. I would recommend this office to anyone and I will be sure to go back as well
