Dr. Carl Werts, D.D.S., F.A.G.D., F.I.C.O.I.,Dr. Werts, a third generation doctor and Southern California native, grew up in Los Angeles and South Pasadena. He received his undergraduate degree in biology from the University of California, Davis in 1976 and attended the Georgetown University School of Dentistry in Washington, D.C., graduating in 1980.Dr. Werts was awarded prestigious Fellowship Degrees from the Academy of General Dentistry (FAGD)in 1988 and from theInternational Congress of Oral Implantologists (FICOI) in 2014.

During the span of 12 years, Dr Werts was anavid high-altitude mountaineer. He has climbed mountains on five continents: Denali (Mt. McKinley) in Alaska, theCordillera Blanca in Bolivia, theAlps of New Zealand, and the Alps of France. His ultimate achievementwas the summit of a prized peak in the Himalaya, Ama Dablam.

Michell has been with our practice since 2004 and is also a graduate of the Pasadena City College Dental Hygiene Program. She and her family are from Korea and are passionate fans of the Korea Soccer team, and Dodgers baseball. She enjoys dental hygiene and is extremely conscientious in the care she gives. She also has a background in design and is a graduate of Art Center College of Design in Pasadena.

Denise Holliday has enjoyed being in the dental field since 1980 and shares that her dental career has been the center of her life. She is blessed with two daughters and two grandchildren and they love to garden and cook together. Her hobbies are going to car shows, and playing pool in a league (not for money though, just for the trophies!).

After graduating high school, I started working in a dental office which helped me choose the path of becoming a hygienist. I enrolled at San Joaquin Valley College where I studied for my license and have now been a hygienist since 2005. I am married to my wonderful husband, Joseph, who is a dentist and we have an amazing son who gives meaning to my life. I love planning events, cooking and traveling. Most importantly, having my family gatherings and closeness with my family defines who I am.

The philosophy of our practice is that of a conservative approach to your dental needs. It is our goal to preserve ones own tooth structure as much as possible through tooth-conserving and minimally invasive principles and techniques.

It is also our goal to give our patients dentistry of the highest quality yet keeping in mind which treatment approach gives the best prognosis for long term success and the best value for your investments. The final treatment will ultimately be decided by you, our patients, but we will share with you the knowledge and the risks of alternate treatment options in order for you to make an informed decision.

Telephone calls received during regular office hours are handled by our staff. In most cases they will be able to answer your questions. For assistance after hours, please call our office and an emergency number will be provided. You may also leave a message and we can return your call the following day.

Using our examination findings, we will develop a treatment plan and recommend a program that will restore your mouth to optimal conditions. Recognizing that treatment plans and associated costs can vary widely, we present as many options as feasible and the advantages or limitations they would present. Above all, our treatment plans are conservative and Dr. Werts takes great pride that our office does not over-diagnose.

There can be different treatment plans for different circumstances. We discuss these options with you along with the tradeoffs, expected outcomes and required investments so you can make an informed decision. We ask for payment at the time services are rendered. We accept cash, check or credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover).

Patients are responsible for all charges incurred. This requires you to assist our office with updated insurance billing information for timely reimbursement from your dental insurance carrier. As a convenience to our patients we submit charges for the services to your insurance company.

Total dental health is dependant on sound healthy tissue and bone. With the recent advances made in dentistry, we are able to give better care than ever before. When patients do their part in maintaining their oral health it is possible for the majority of patients to keep their natural teeth for a lifetime.

Displayed throughout the office are beautiful watercolors painted by Dr Werts late great-uncle, Alfred W. Eichler.
