After graduating from the University of Michigan School of Dentistry, and working for several years in another practice, Dr. Amira May Woodruff (also known as Dr. May) and Dr. Warren E. Woodruff (also known as Dr. Warren) decided there was no place theyd rather open their own dental practice than West Bloomfield. This married couple is honored to serve the residents of Michigan with exceptional care.
In addition to receiving his DDS degree from the University of Michigan, Dr. Warren completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Michigan. He majored in Psychology and minored in African-American Studies in addition to his pre-dental studies. During his final year of dental school, Dr. Warren completed a two-week dental mission trip with four of his classmates in Kenya, where he provided dental care to over 600 children and adults. He also served on the National Executive Board of the Student National Dental Association while in dental school.
Dr. Warren is a strong believer in mentorship and dental outreach. He has volunteered at dental clinics and career days at various local schools and health fairs. He also mentors underrepresented minorities with aspirations of entering the dental profession.
Dr. Warren has many interests outside of dentistry. They include traveling, technology, video editing, movies, home design and photography. He enjoys playing golf and basketball. Dr. Warren was raised in West Bloomfield and attended West Bloomfield High School, where his ambition, competitiveness and scholastic achievement were evident. He was captain of the varsity basketball team and earned numerous scholar-athlete honors. He is an avid sports fan of all of the Detroit sports teams and the University of Michigan football and basketball teams. Dr. Warren is an active member of Empowerment Church in Southfield, Michigan. He also loves spending time with his wife, Dr. May, their daughter, Wesli, their goldendoodle dog, Quincy, family and friends.

During her third year of dental school, Dr. May traveled to Jamaica to participate in an outreach program through Health Care International where she provided free dental care for one week to hundreds of people in need, mostly children. Upon graduation she received theRussell W. Bunting Periodontal Study Club Award for outstanding proficiency in clinical periodontics.

She enjoys taking continuing education courses to stay up to date with the latest technology and advances in the field of dentistry. In addition, Dr. May has many interests outside of dentistry. These include acting, reading, animals, painting, dancing, photography, and traveling. She is also an active member of Empowerment Church in Southfield, Michigan. Most of all she loves spending time with her husband, Dr. Warren, her family, friends, and goldendoodle Quincy.
Dr. Warrens calming chairside manner makes him able to connect with his patients on a personal level. He takes time to explain his recommended treatment options and treats all of his patients like they are his family.

By far the best and most thorough dental experience I have ever received. Little to no wait time after check in and then off to get X-rays where you can see each image as it pops up on screen. Adrienne, is a wonderful dental hygienist. She is very warm, knowledgeable, and has a clear love for her patients. On top of making my teeth feel like new. Likewise, Dr. May is also very welcoming and wants to hear from her patients on their needs/wants, before recommending a care plan. I truly loved my entire experience at Caring smiles a dental practice that TRULY cares about its patients. 10/10 recommend!

Very friendly staff, clean and welcoming office. Hygienist are thorough and talk you through whatever process they are doing. Dr. Warren seems a little rushed when he comes to check after a cleaning. Overall, great experience and the pictures on the tablet of the baby are an extra added touch. She's beautiful

The BEST dental experience I've ever had. I recently switched from a franchise/chain dentist office and I'm so glad that I did. The staff was truly caring from the initial phone scheduling to when I arrived at the office. Ashleigh was very professional and personable. I really felt like a valued patient and not just a number. You're stuck with me for life. :-)

This is my second review post for the awesome team at Caring Smiles... I love them all!!!... From checking in with the receptionists, to great chats with Adrienne to the wisdom of Dr. May and Dr. Warren... My experience with CS has ALWAYS been pleasant... And I have been a client for 3 years now.

Where do I begin? I moved here in 2015-This is the first and only dentist I've been to. This office is so professional and cozy at the same time. I feel like I am family. The customer service is bar none! Emergencies to you is a helping hand to them! They prioritize appointments around just to ensure they take care of you. I am overwhelmed at the care I receive from my dentist. Thank you for always showing I am important--you have hundreds of patients but you make me feel I am the only one. My children and husband also enjoy their visits. We are family!!! Thanks for Everything Dr. Woodruff's!!!!!!! The staff??? Intelligent and well equipped for their jobs. They are professional and personable! I am soooo grateful...

I usually see Dr May, but today I saw dr Warren. I just want to say, they are both amazing. Both are kind, gentle and professional. I also saw Joy who cleaned my teeth. She was also great. She was very careful and thorough. She didn't rush and jab me like hygienists at other offices have done. I'm so glad to have found this place so many years ago.
