After graduating from David Douglas High School in Portland, Dr. Roman Zakhariya completed his degree at Portland State University with a Bachelors Degree in Music and soon after was accepted to the OHSU School of Dentistry. Following graduation as a general dentist, he completed residency training at Eastman Institute of Oral Health in Rochester, New York.
Dentistry was Dr. Romans passion long before he graduated from OHSU School of Dentistry. While living in Portland and attending David Douglas High, he was chosen to shadow a Portland dentist as a possible career choice. With Dr. Romans acute attention to detail and precision with his hands, this experience had a large impact on his decision to become the ideal dentist, whos patients would smile, laugh and have fun while at his dental clinic.

Dr. Ryan Allred, Caring Smiles sleep dentist expert, loves being able to make every patients experience an easy and comfortable one. He completed his residency in dental anesthesia at Loma Linda University Medical Center. During his residency, Dr. Allred received extensive experience providing general anesthesia in the hospital operating room for a variety of surgical procedures.
Dr. Allreds distinctive interdisciplinary training makes him uniquely trained to provide the highest quality of dental anesthesia in a manner which is safe and convenient for both the dentist and the patient in the dental office. His expertise as a sleep dentist, paired with his sensitive and amiable character, make the experience second to none.
Dr. Allred lives in Sherwood, Oregon with his wife and 3 sons. Most of his free time is spent doing activities of his childrens choice, which generally means building Lego creations or going on bike rides to the park.
The definition of a routine teeth cleaning takes on new meaning when our dental hygienist, Allison greets her patients at the door. Families and their oral health are always her highest priority. She is sensitive to dental anxieties and strives to keep cleanings comfortable and relaxing. Patients leave our office with a renewed sense of oral health attached to a brighter, more confident smile!
Allison graduated with an AAS in Dental Hygiene from Portland Community College in 2012. In addition, she regularly attends continuing education courses and teaches general oral health to Beaverton and Tigard communities. She loves working in the dental field because it gives her the opportunity to bridge the gap between dental hygiene and a persons overall health. Her objective is in translating the practice of brushing, flossing and maintaining ones teeth into the language of whole body wellness and vitality. A happy mouth is a happy self, she cheers.
When shes not working, Allison loves travelling with her husband and two children. Asan Oregon native hiking, camping or doing anything outdoors with her family and their dog is a priority. Cooking with her husband comes in at a close second followed by reading a great book and strolling through lavender fields in the summer.
Marie has worked as a dental hygienist in childrens dentistry as well as in more complicated periodontal offices for almost 30 years. She started her career in Arizona then continued practicing hygiene in Germany and Southern Florida. She has lived in Oregon for the past 24 years and loves it.
Maries primary goal as a dental hygienist is helping patients overcome dental fears. Marie believes that the best way to put people at ease is to treat them as part of the Caring Smiles Family! She loves being able to offer a busy mom the chance to relax, sit in a comfortable dental massage chair, and watch her favorite Netflix show.
After raising two children, Marie now enjoys her free time by biking up and down the Westside Regional Trail, gardening, kayaking, walking her collie, volunteering at church and traveling with her husband. Marie and her husband also enjoy visiting family in Florida and the Chicago area.
Sarah joined Caring Smiles in January of 2019. Sarah is an Expanded Functions Dental Assistant with over 7 years of experience in the field. She enjoys working on procedures with Dr. Allred and Dr. Roman; treating patients with dental implants, dental crowns, fillings, dentures and much more. Sarah is the lead of our assisting team, making sure we provide you with the best care possible.
Sarah and her family are native Oregonians who love spending time at Triangle Lake during the summer and the Sunriver area in the winter. In her free time, she enjoys creating uniquely decorated sugar cookies, volunteering in her daughters classroom, and traveling.
Jenni, with her bright eyes and caring smile, was a patient with us before she joined the Caring Smiles Team in 2017. Her sincere and cheerful chair side manner is reassuring and heart felt. You will be well taken care of. Shes a dental assistant with various skill sets having worked alongside Dr. Allred and Dr. Nguyen in treating patients with dental implants, orthodontics, dental crowns, fillings, dentures and much more. Also, if ever the front office needs an extra hand, Jenni is there to help.
Having worked in various customer service and managerial position, she most recently has worked with with clients as a certified Personal Service Worker (PSW). She advocate and gives support and aid to clients that have special needs. Her focus is to assistance her clients with their quality of life even if this involves a night of karaoke or a helping hand down the steps.
After raising two boys, Mel went back to school to earn her certification as an Expanded Functions Dental Assistant at Anthem College in Beaverton. Her focus in the office is assisting Dr. Allred with our sleep dentistry patients. Getting to know each patient and making them feel comfortable and well cared for is her expertise. Mel is passionate about making your sleep dentistry experience a positive for all her Caring Smiles Dental patients. Any educational tools and techniques she can provide to assist in reaching optimal oral health are very rewarding to her. If she feels extra support and encouragement is apparent, a warm and caring hug will be given at no extra cost.
Mel lives in Newberg, Oregon with her husband, two happy dogs and one overindulged cat. When not working, she enjoys hiking, reading, sightseeing with her adventurous mother, and spending time with her grown sons and new daughter-in-law.
Janette has called Oregon Home for the past 35 years. She joined the Caring Smiles Dental Team in Beaverton in 2018. Her outstanding patient care and service have brought a welcomed sense of comfort and security to our sleep dentistry, denture, and general dental patients. I enjoy greeting and working with our Caring Smiles Dental patients. Helping them feel at ease and confident that they are in caring and competent hands is my goal. At the office, Janette is busy taking care of patients, coordinating dental plans with doctors, updating insurance information and answering questions. Her professionalism and sweet smile are second to none. Her work ethic is commendable.
She and her awesome husband have five children, four in-laws and ten grandchildren and counting. Janette is always involved with family be it outside, on the river, at the beach, in the Columbia River Gorge or in the garden. Cooking a freshly cooked dinner and reading a good book always bring joy into her life as well as serving her faith community.
A Portland native and loyal Beavers fan, Wendy, her husband and their three children, have been a part of the Beaverton/Progress Ridge community for over 20 years. She enjoys spending time with her family, having coffee with friends, entertaining others in her home, going to church, exercising at 24 Hour Fitness and baking.

Modern, great looking, very nice facility. Top of the line technology. Staff was very nice and very knowledgeable. It's not often you can say you enjoy going to the dentist. This place is perfect.

really pleasant experience at this place. it's around the corner from my place but had the best reviews. they are well deserved. dr roman is pleasant and came up with the game plan and is also a gifted musician. i mostly dealt with brooke the dental hygienist i hope i spelled that right and janette at the front desk and they are a+++. brooke really is very passionate about what she's doing. i feel like i'm in good hands here. thanks caring smiles dental.

I'd like to leave a comprehensive review of the clinic. I believe this place is a hidden gem in the city of Portland and it is highly underestimated. I found the place accidentally by Google search and chose the place because the staff was very friendly in comparison with two other places, which I can't name for obvious reasons. So, from the beginning. 1. Parking. Parking is at the quiet plaza and is totally available. 2. The staff is extremely helpful, friendly and proactive. They are also very organized and record thins. For example, I forgot about a complimentary teeth cleaning and they reminded me and proposed to re-schedule. Very nice of them. 3. Safety. They take al the stringent safety measures. It is a very clean place and the staff is stringent about Covid proactive measures. Make you feel safer. 4. Prices. Prices are very affordable for the quality they provide. 5. Finally, the quality of the medical service is superior. My doctor was Roman Zacharia, a very polite professional with a lot of experience. He is also very friendly and kind doctor with the great sense of humor. I believe these qualities are important for dentists! I had deep cleaning and the service was quick and very well done. I hardly had any pain after a couple of days. I will certainly use this place in the future for all dental services. Highly recommend. The only thing I'm afraid of, that the prices will go up after my review, lol.

Dr. Roman and all the staff here are amazing! If you have anxiety going to the dentist, I would highly recommend Caring Smiles. They are kind and friendly and that helps me relax a lot. They work efficiently without compromising quality. I really feel they care for their patients and try to make the experience as comfortable as possible.

Had a crown done today and I absolutely love Dr Roman and Sam. I was comfortable throughout the entire appointment and actually enjoyed my visit. Thank you for an all around pleasant experience and a perfect temporary crown to get me by until my permanent is ready.

This office changed my life and saved it.. I came in over a year ago with some of the worst teeth you could ever imagine having.. I originally met dr Roman at a emergency tooth dentist in downtown Portland in 2019. I told them I was going to another dental office to have my teeth done for way more money and not even the same treatment that I got at caring smiles. Dr Roman made an appointment with me and he saved my life. Literally. The process was easy and pain free. I had all my teeth taken out and 8 snap in dental implants put in. He gave me the best smile I could ever have in my life. The healing process took only 6 months and after that I was a brand new man. I have a beautiful smile. I can literally eat anything I want with no restrictions at all. Dr Roman And dr Allred I can't thank you enough.. caring smiles you guys literally saved my life and i am so incredibly thankful... if I could give them a 10 star rating I would.. thank you guys so so so so so much.

This office is a joke, they start off really nice but ends up all they care about is the money, how do I know will pretty easy to figure out when the front desk woman ask about it whenever you talk to her. They took out my boyfriend's upper teeth for a denture said 2 weeks then turns out if we hadn't called them we never would have known that the impression was bad and we were also told it wasn't done, please get your stories straight. We asked why we weren't told and they lied and said they tried to call which is a another lie, my boyfriend drives a truck and we were in the area for 3 days and called every day no one would pick up the call, we drove 274 miles home. Called again someone answered thats when we were told about the impression that it didn't come out and told also they weren't done. Why werent we told ? Again they couldn't answer. Mind you we have already paid 1333,00 dollars, can you come back Monday ? No he drives a semi, so we have a great new densit now who will make the dentures, oh by the way his insurance was billed for dentures that were never made.

I can recommend every part of my experience with Caring Smiles Dental. Like a lot of people, I went for the introductory offer, but we've kept going back. Besides regular care for me and my two sons, they extracted one of my son's wisdom teeth and did a crown for me. Dr. Roman Zakhariya is great; professional, personable, and caring.

I've always been afraid of the dentist. I got several teeth removed and I was rubbing out of teeth. Caring Smiles/Dr.Roman/Janette/Kind front desk woman, took great care of me. They kept my budget and anxiety as a priority. When Dr.Roman performed the procedure he was so gentle that when I asked if it was gonna take long or hurt it was already done!! I just snapped my partial in, it fits perfect and I'm so so happy!!
