I loved my children coming here at first. Then they said my 13 year old daughter "graduated," they no longer could see her because her legs were too long for the chair. When I questioned "so you would still see her if she were short?" The responder said we do this for the comfort of the patient, that must be the dumbest discriminatory action a doctor can take. She is only 13 still a pediatric, it was very inconvenient to have to find her another pediatric dentist I actually liked, (there's not many in the area). When I called her current dentist and asked if they followed the same policy as caring for kids and parents they too thought it was absurd, and unusual. My seven year old still goes here but I am considering removing him also. Oh! and the new pediatric dentist McCain is not as friendly as the first dentist of whom she replaced, she comes off as arrogant.

This was our first time at this office and we had such a wonderful experience. Shalonda was absolutely awesome with my 4yo. She made him comfortable, showed him the equipment, and explained everything to him before she did anything. She made something he was afraid of so pleasant. So much so that he wants to come back in 4 days lol. Dr. McCain was great as well. She made me feel included in his care. Thank you ladies!

I'd give it 5 stars were it not for the ridiculous wait time. I think if you have an appointment at 7:15am, and STILL can't be seen after a half an hour is a bit much. The staff is amazing and I have NO COMPLAINTS about the work provided by Dr Wexel or Dr McCormick, but how early does one have to schedule an appointment to be seen even REMOTELY on time? Their appointment policy in regards to YOUR arrival is CLEARLY VISIBLE for you, however. (See picture) C'mon, you all; this is just unacceptable.

We've been patients here for over 10 years now. My kids were on the pediatric side of the practice and now have "aged out" to the adult side with Dr. Mc Cormick who I love. I've always loved the dental technicians for both kids and parents. The only thing I didn't care for was how often they changed pediatric dentists. Even with those changes, they were always kind, patient, and knowledgeable. I also have always had a good experience with the front desk staff, making appointments, getting reminders, and with billing. They really try to work with you in any way possible to make sure you have a positive experience. Even though we haven't lived in Hampton for 5 years, we still make the drive. I'd recommend this practice to families of all ages.

July 2018 5stars So I went to this place because it was one of Tricare dental recommendations(United Concordia)for a annually check up. We initially walked in just 5 minutes to the appt time and sat in the kids play waiting area (huge kudos for that). Once we were called we were greeted with smiles and warm welcyoming. Both my children were treated so kindly and taken care of at the same time (another huge kudos) by two different dental staffs. The room is like a doc mcstuffin dental office all open space and able to see everything going on with everyone. The assistants made them feel comfortable gave them Knick knack toys after the cleaning and the dentist viewed and washed his hands after every child. I never caught my daughters assistant name but the tan woman with brown 3b type hair was fantastic, awesome and should be rewarded for how wonderfully she interacted with children and how patient she was. We also had a woman with an Irish tattoo she was kind, awesome and quiet just not as informative or hands on as the woman with the curly 3b/3c hair. I would definitely recommend this place especially to military dependents who have united Concordia tricare prime. I have another upcoming appt with them for my sons cavity so I will update ya on that experience as well. UPDATE September 2018 1star It's a hit or miss with this place depending on who is taking care of you. The male dentist DR.McDonald was phenomenal this new female Dentist is debatable simply on her procedures and protocol as told by her assistant. My last appt with DR. McDonald was phenomenal for the children, this time I had a 9:00 appt arrived at 8:45am not to be late. We were not called in to the back til 920am. It was only then that I informed that there is a new dentist who recommends something totally different and more expensive then the initial recommendation by a blonde assistant. Okay fine I thought. As I am getting ready to walk my 4 year old in the room the dental assistant arm stops me and I was told I was not allowed in with my four year old for this procedure because I had my baby with me. (Last time I entered with my baby and my 2 children). She then had the audacity to ask me if my 4 year old would be okay to be alone in the room and have this procedure on his own. I opted to just leave because the entire scenario rubbed me the wrong way first with their tardiness and no sense of apologies, then the change of recommendations to up the price, lastly how RUDE and UNPROFESSIONAL the dental assistant was. I'm pretty sure this entire situation could have been assessed differently and professionally. Such as when they called me to confirm the appt they could have informed me there was a new dentist and she had different recommendations before hand so I wouldn't be thrown off by the recommendations and be prepared for the price change. I'm still baffled by how last time the service was ideally excellent and this time it was a dreaded nightmare. It could have just been the assistant herself with her lack of professionalism that made this experience horrible but I won't recommend this place based on my experience with that assistant unless the male dentist is there.

I would not recommend this place to anyone. I came to an appointment for my neice along with my sister and arrived 20 minutes early. After waiting 10 minutes past her scheduled appointment time, her mother went to the counter to ask if it was possible to know when her child would be seen. The lady at the window asked what time her appointment was scheduled for and it was only 10 minutes past so "it's's kinda early". I Immediately felt that this was extremely rude and disrespectful. Shortly after, my neice was called back and was told by the person that came to get her (as if she was irritated) that she needed to take her sweatshirt hood off. For what reason, I do not know. I talked to Michelle who is the office manager and she said she would take care of it. After talking to her, I left with my sister who told me that another one of the staff members approached her and told her that I had it wrong and the person was not rude and if she wanted my niece's records, she could have them. I cannot for the life of me figure out how this behavior is acceptable. I would not recommend this establishment to anyone. I hope that the staff gets customer service training and I will never consider bringing my child here.
