A dental implant is a titanium post that Dr. Osga can surgically place through your gums and into your jawbone. Over a period of three to six months, the titanium will fuse with your jawbone and become a permanent part of your anatomy. Then, a connector piece called an abutment will be used to fasten a crown, bridge, or denture to the dental implant.

Dr. Aaron Osga of Carepoint Dental in Henderson, NV, is an experienced dentist with advanced training in implant dentistry. If you are looking for an implant dentist in greater Las Vegas, there are several reasons to choose Dr. Osga:

During your implant surgery, Dr. Osga will administer a local anesthetic so that you feel no discomfort during the procedure. Nervous patients can request dental sedation. Once you are comfortable, our dentist will make small incisions in your gums and then place your implants through the incisions and into the jawbone.

Once your implants are in place, a healing period of three to six months is required for the titanium to fuse with your bone tissue. This process is known as osseointegration. Dr. Osga may be able to provide a temporary restoration for you to wear during this time, so there won't be a noticeable gap in your smile.

After osseointegration is complete, you can return to our Henderson office for a second procedure. During this procedure, Dr. Osga will attach abutments to your implants. Abutments are small connector pieces that attach crowns, bridges, or dentures to implants. Some patients require a second healing period after the abutment placement.

Finally, you will be ready to receive your restoration. At Carepoint Dental, we use crowns, bridges, and dentures that near-perfectly resemble natural teeth. Dr. Osga will attach your restoration to your abutments, and your smile will be complete. You will walk out of our Henderson office with a complete smile and a renewed ability to bite, chew, and speak.

Dental insurance will usually cover at least a portion of the costs associated with restorations and resolving oral health issues, but most policies don't cover dental implants. Our team will help you review your policy and file paperwork for you so that you can take advantage of your benefits. We work with CareCredit financing to help make out-of-pocket costs fit your budget.

A full mouth reconstruction is a personalized treatment plan that combines multiple dentistry treatments to fully rehabilitate a compromised smile in one streamlined process. In addition to dental implants, full mouth reconstructions often include root canal therapy and periodontal treatment.

A dental bridge traditionally consists of artificial teeth (called pontics) that attach to crowned abutment teeth on either side of the false teeth. The bridge can also be supported by dental implants.

This restoration is typically made out of porcelain, zirconia, or porcelain-fused-to-metal. These are durable materials that can take on the appearance of your natural teeth, replacing one or several teeth after tooth loss.

A traditional bridge consists of artificial teeth that are held in place by crowns. This is the most common type of dental bridge and can easily be placed by our dentist if you have healthy teeth on either side of your missing teeth. Your natural teeth will be capped with dental crowns that will hold the pontics in place.

An implant-supported bridge is held in place byimplants, or small metal posts.During an initial surgery, the dental implants are placed in your jawbone. The postsreplace your tooth roots and fuse with your jaw during a process called 'osseointegration.' After four to six months, the implants can support your permanent restoration.

An implant-supported bridge has benefits that a traditional bridge lacks. Because dental implants replace tooth roots, they can stimulate your jaw and keep it from atrophying, a problem that occurs after tooth loss. Having implants placed will also forgo the need to alter the structure of healthy teeth.

Since dental bridges are considered a type of restorative dentistry, most types of dental insurance cover at least part of the cost. The exact cost will dependon the type of bridge you get, the number of teeth that need to be replaced, and the materials that make up your restoration. However, dental bridges are a good investment that can last from five to 15 years when cared for properly.

A root canal refers to the procedure used to treat infection located in the 'root canals,' which are the centers of the tooth roots, as well as other areas within the tooth. We create a small opening to access the pulp chamber (the inner portion of the tooth) and extract the infected nerves, ligaments, and blood vessels (pulp). Once the tooth has been emptied of the pulp and disinfected, we can provide the necessary restorative services.

When it comes to root canal therapy, it's best to undergo treatment sooner rather than later. This not only helps you achieve prompt relief, but can also prevent the need for extraction and the spread of the infection. To put it another way, fast action can help you avoid the need for more complex and expensive restorative procedures. So don't delay - schedule your root canal treatment at Carepoint Dental today. You can reach our Henderson, NV, office online, or by calling:

In order to reach the pulp of an infected tooth, we need to create a small opening in the tooth surface. A filling mayprovide a sufficient restoration in some cases. Our practice offers natural tooth-colored fillings that are custom-matched to the shade of your enamel for the most aesthetically pleasing final results. It is important to understand that in many cases, a tooth that has undergone a root canal will need more substantial support than a filling alone can provide.

Our dentist may recommend a crown to cover the entire tooth after a root canal. In some instances, we can provide a permanent crown right away, but other cases might require a temporary crown while your permanent crown is crafted offsite. Our Henderson practice works with an outstanding lab that will craft your custom dental crown. You can trust that your restoration will be skillfully crafted to look entirely natural among surrounding teeth.

Finally, we seal the tooth and attach a restoration to protect the tooth structure. If we cannot provide a permanent crown right away, we can take impressions of your tooth and provide a temporary crown at this time. The impressions will be sent to our partner lab, where your permanent crown will be made.

Unfortunately, once bacteria and decay reach the pulp of a tooth, a root canal isthe only way to address the problem without extracting the tooth. An extraction will leave you with a gap in your smile, which is moreexpensive to treat.

You do not have to go to an endodontist to get a root canal. Dr. Osga has the education and experience needed to offer safe root canal therapy, so you can undergo all the steps of treatment conveniently at our Henderson office.

With proper maintenance and dental hygiene, your treated tooth can last a lifetime. Remember, root canal treatment does not prevent a future cavity or infection, so make sure tobrush and floss your teeth daily, and visit the dentist for regular checkups. You also need to maintain the restoration that protects your treated tooth. Dental crowns can last about 10 years before needing replacement.
