During my career as a dentist in the United States Army, I gave much thought to what my ideal dental practice would be like when it came time to leave the service.Carefree Smile is a practice that provides quality and compassionate dental care in a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere. It is an honor to be entrusted by you to provide your dental care.
I am fortunate to practice in the community where I live. Also, my wife Ashley is a plastic surgeon in Scottsdale. We are supporters of our community, and serve on the boards of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Scottsdale and Arizona Musicfest. Although we are both from the Bluegrass of Kentucky, we have fallen in love with the desert and are happy to call it home.
I have been fortunate to have a career rich with unique experiences. I attended the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry, where I provided dental care in the hills of Appalachia. Ilove mission work and directed a dental mission to Haiti where I will be returning again in 2017. As a dental officer in the US Army, I completed my Masters of Business Administration at Texas A&M while at Fort Hood. Also during that time, I served as the installations forensic dental examiner. My final military assignment was at Fort Huachuca, Arizona, where I mentored new dentists just beginning their military careers.
As I enter this new phase of my career, my goal is that you will find the same sense of familiarity and kindness at Carefree Smile. I will strive to provide the same quality, compassionate care that you have come to expect. I look forward to serving you and getting to know each of you personally.

This was my first visit at Carefree Smile because my regular dentist was out of town. My coworker referred me and I'm so glad she did. Everyone was very friendly and made me feel at ease. I intend on switching over to this office permanently.

Besides providing the best dental care I've received, I appreciate their efficient friendly and dependable service. On Sep 7th I was in as a new patient and for a cleaning. I was scheduled with Tammy Tuller. I was so impressed with her kindness and her meticulous, thorough yet gentle touch. My deceased wife was a great dental hygienist and I must say I have not had such a fantastic cleaning since she did my cleanings. I will follow Tammy wherever she goes as it is hard to find such fantastic care. Dr. Swainhart was also very thorough and extremely knowledgeable. I will refer others to this GREAT practice. Everyone in the Dr. Swainhart and the Carefree Smile Team were so very nice. They were kind, gentle, prompt and professional. I absolutely dread going to the dentist but this experience was completely different and made me reevaluate my perceptions. They took the time to explain things and made me feel extremely comfortable. I would highly recommend Dr. Swainhart and the Carefree Smile Team !!

The most pleasant Dental cleaning ever! The entire staff's Attention to DETAIL is absolutely ON POINT. Pam at the front desk was extremely helpful in getting me in as a new patient. Kelly the hygienist was absolutely wonderful and gained my trust right away. Dr. Sam was courteous, personable and understood my wish for a conservative approach to dental procedures. This place rocks and I have zero doubts in placing my dental health in their hands going forward :)

Staff is friendly and efficient. Dr Swainhart is excellent at explaining all options re dental procedures in a clear and concise manner. As a retired healthcare executive I am familiar with and appreciate positive patient/provider interaction. In my opinion, Carefree Smile is a cut above the rest.

I've been a patient at Carefree Smile for several years and they are always excellent. I always feel welcome and am treated respectfully. Hygienist (Tammy) is a perfectionist and is passionate about delivering excellent care every time. Dr. Swainhart has always been top notch! If you are trying to find a place to go for your dentistry needs, look no further. This place is it!

Dr. Jones always punctual are ready for exam. Exam went well with cleaning. Even shared humor helped carry the day. Same for the ladies who helped in the lobby while entering and leaving. Always a joy to visit with them. Thanks. As the late Paul Harvey would say, GOOD DAY!

My husband and I have both had great experiences with this practice. Dr. Swainhart and his staff are always friendly and professional. The office is clean, modern and parking is easily accessible.
