Dr. Chen has been practicing general Dentistry and Oral Surgery for over almost thirty years, during which he has developed strong clinical and academic backgrounds. He has almost twelve years of combined dentistry training in China and the United States.
Dr. Chen graduated from the Nanjing Medical University, School of Dental Medicine in 1983 and interned in General Dentistry at the Nanjing Stomatology Hospital in Nanjing, China. His residency program in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery was at the affiliated hospital of Nanjing Medical University, where he certified as an Oral Surgeon. Dr. Chen taught as Associate Professor and was an Attending Doctor at Nanjing Medical University. He was a full-time Oral Surgery Clinic Instructor. He continued in private practice as a General Dentist and Oral Surgeon in China for eleven years.
In the United States, Dr. Chen graduated from the School of Dental Medicine at Boston University and is a Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD). He was awarded the prestigiousOutstanding Achievement and Excellence in Patient and Practice Management Awardat Boston University. He previously worked in his private practice in Marborough, MA. As of 2016, he has relocated his practice to his state-of-the-art offices in Harvard, MA and Concord, MA.

Granted, I called on a Saturday - however, I waited until Monday at 3PM to even get a response. Wouldn't be a problem, if the call weren't about a dental abscess - a potentially spreading infection, where time kinda counts... Luckily, I found K Health app over the weekend, only spent 23$, and am taking antibiotics, before they even called back. Definitely not using them for anything pressing! 48 hours is a little longer than I hope to wait, while worried for my health, and after calling an "urgent care" line. Not much urgency detected on their end. Edit in response to the response: I understand trying to save face, but I don't appreciate that wording - when the voicemail I was responding to was LEFT AT 2:51 PM, ONLY 3 MINUTES EARLIER. I'm also not impressed that it took you (2 days closed and) 7 hours of being open to respond to an urgent medical call, but you seem to be able to respond to an online review in under 2 hours. I'm sure you're great, and I may even try your office in the future.... Until then, you've made this impression, and it currently stands. However, thank you for your apology

Planning to do my tooth extraction here cuz my friend said it's a awesome. Turned out they had bad services and gave me an attitude. First of all, they asked my insurance in the very last minute, the day before my appointment and they rejected to contact my insurance company but asked me to do everything myself. Secondly, yes I ran 15 mins late due to traffic because google estimated 30mins drive but unfortunately traffic was terrible, it took me an hour to get there and the front desk gave me an attitude saying oh you should have notice us you are running late, I was like ????? Whut? I suppose that is your job to call me clarifying whether I'm still gonna be there or cancel the appointment? Overall, terrible experience and wasted my off day. Ugh,

I have been to caresmile dental 3times and have been very satisfied with the services. Everyone is polite and extremely supportive. The staff is very professional as well. I will recommend caresmile dental to anyone looking for dental services.

Hard sell tactics. 2 extractions done when I had an infection. I felt it all as novacaine doesn't penitrate nfection. The dentist told me I was stressing him out because I was moving. " I feel like I'm torturing you and you should only feel pressure. I cried " it hurts" I was not believed. I am 72 and have a heart problem and am hypertensive.

I brought my daughter, it was her first dentist appointment and she was nervous. The receptionist, dental hygienist and dentist were extremely caring and helpful. They were great with my daughter, very patient and kind. Thank you Care Smile Dental!

So skillful and painless! This tooth broke on the side, so the extraction became super challenging. Without great skills, a surgery would have been required to get the smaller fraction out. Feel so luck to have Dr. Chen who was able to get it out completely based on the X-ray on the spot.

After dealing with a third molar tooth pain for 3 weeks! I finally got recommended to this dentist. I called in desperately and was giving an appointment the next day but I received a call the same afternoon by Kate that they had a cancellation. Thank you Kate! You are amazing and care for others! Thanks for calling me and getting me in. Even though I was over an hour away! I made it and the doctor was so profesional and everyone there got right to me and now I am feeling better! Thank you all for what you do!

I have the worst dental phobia that has followed me throughout my life and made going to the dentist so traumatic, But I came here for an emergency today and I was so desperate and scared and I don't think I could have had a better experience. I've never ever had this good of an experience at the dentist and I left here feeling so grateful. I literally fell asleep during two root canals because they were just that gentle and they just did such a good job I cannot say enough good things about this place

STAY AWAY he's all about $$$ NOT patient care! He twisted my husband's upper partial during the fitting, did not fix it, couldn't fix it and never accepted responsibility of his error! But we were billed each time he went in to 'adjust' it, in which time he did nothing but file one side down, making it worse each time! Eventually just said we'd need to order & pay for a whole new piece! So over $1000 later, and tons of frustrated appointments, all we have is a partial that doesn't fit!

My sibling got their impacted wisdom teeth removed here. They went here because many places turned them away since impacted wisdom teeth require general anethesia, since it's a proper surgery. They said they did impacted teeth, so they went here. They didnt give them anethesia, and they didn't even give them laughing gas. They sat through the whole surgery crying because they were only given novicaine. Even non-impacted wisdom teeth removals will get nitrous oxide to make it less horrible on people usually. They literally were turned away from other places since it NEEDS anesthesia, and they just let them cry through it. I see many good wisdom teeth reviews, but this is how they treated someone with impacted teeth, so if you have impacted wisdom teeth, be aware. Go to an office with anethesia and get it done without being traumatized. They also were very unclear about costs and very hard to communicate with the whole time leading up to the surgery. They never got around to giving them an quote on the cost or what their insurance was covering. When I got my own impacted teeth removed somewhere else, I was given quotes and insurance estimates up front and it was clear what I'd owe. I also was put under full general anesthesia for the whole procedure, so it's crazy that this place didn't even give my sibling laughing gas or anything.

In Oct 2020, I went to see this dentist for a cleaning at the time because I relocated to this area during the pandemic. I was looking for temporary dental care to keep up with my cleaning routine. I picked this place because of the reviews... but my experience says otherwise. I honestly regret coming. I have never seen a dentist that does a hygiene cleaning and that was a first red flag. The second red flag, the dentist handled my mouth very poorly during the cleaning. Really tugged at the corners of my mouth. The third red flag, the dentist was insistent that I should patch my teeth roots because they were receding... I had said "no" multiple times, but he was SO insistent on the care. I had a feeling I would regret this moment...and I do. Now, the patch work on the bottom of my teeth is bringing back old problems. It is causing decay in that area, has brought back my gum recession problems, and made it more difficult to repair! Please don't go to this place for periodontist diagnosis/care. Don't!!! When a patient says no, please respect their wishes the first time.

The whole team is amazing! I started out there for a cleaning and then had to have my wisdom teeth removed. They walked me through every step, made me feel calm and we even joked and laughed. They are kind and very gentle!

Today 11/03 I went for a regular tooth cleaning. My hygienist was Monica and she is incredible. I am 57 year old and this is by far the best Dentistry that I have ever been to! Monica was attentive, cleaned my teeth thoroughly without cutting the corners, proactively warned me about areas where I need to pay more attention and gave me a precise instructions what I need to do to take a proper care of my deep gum pockets. She is radiating a positive energy which makes everyone happy around her.

I called to reschedule my appointment and the dentist was extremely rude. I see a lot of other reviews that he treats a lot of people this way, and his responses aren't helpful either. Too bad his unprofessionalism is losing patients.
