We believe dentistry is a beautiful blend of art, science, pediatric medicine, and building personal connections with families and the community. Dr. Patrick started Care for Kids Pediatric Dentistry in 2016 with the primary goal of providing conservative, patient-centered care. He wanted to offer an alternative to the increasingly aggressive style of corporate clinics that have become too common in the field of dentistry. We have served Kingwood and the surrounding communities for over three years and look forward to many more!
Dr. Patrick dreamt of opening his own private dental practice in his hometown of Kingwood, TX. He is married with two young children and is active in their local church. Shortly after opening the doors of Care for Kids Pediatric Dentistry, Dr. Patrick completed the final round of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry certification and received the Arthur J. Nowak award the highest score among more than 500 other board-certified pediatric dentists in the United States and around the world. Dr. Patrick has a special interest in Cystic Fibrosis (CF) and published a paper analyzing the complicated relationship between CF and oral health. When he's not in the office you can find Dr. Patrick reading books, spending time with his family, sharing meals with friends, and most importantly supporting and encouraging those around him.
Dr. Nancy Shen is committed to providing the highest quality of care for each child she has the opportunity to treat. She has traveled across the country for her training and is excited to call Houston home. Dr. Nancy was born in St. Louis, MO where she obtained her degrees in biology and cognitive neuroscience at Washington University. She then earned her degree in dental medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. Through her honors projects and community service in dental school, Dr. Nancy developed her passion of providing care for children and for those with special health care needs. She pursued these passions through advanced specialty training in pediatric dentistry on the campus of Rady Childrens Hospital, where she served as chief resident.
Dr. Nancy is excited to join her husband, a Houston native, here. In her free time, she looks forward to volunteering in the community, sharing meals with family and friends, relaxing with a good book, and playing tennis. Dr. Nancy chose pediatrics because helping kids have a healthy smile is rewarding. Dr. Nancy also shares, The journey towards a lifetime of bright smiles and health can range from needing routine check-ups to life changing treatments. Partnering with families and providing quality care for their kids through each step of that rewarding journey is another reason I chose pediatrics.
Samantha is dedicated to making sure our patients have an exceptional experience from the second they decide to make our office their dental home! Samantha spends her days working hard to make sure our team is providing outstanding care for our patients, as well as making sure their dedication is beyond appreciated. Samantha was born in Fort Worth, TX and moved to the Houston area in 2014. She has been with Care for Kids Pediatric Dentistry since they opened in August of 2016.
Samantha's greatest joy in life is being a mother to two amazing boys, Kadin and T.J. Outside of work you can find Samantha enjoying the outdoors with her family, on the football field, or working up a sweat at Camp Gladiator. Samantha loves helping people! Samantha shares I don't get the opportunity to put smiles on the littles faces but the satisfaction of watching our staff do it every day truly makes me smile and is what keeps me at Care For Kids! What we provide, many do not have the opportunity to experience elsewhere!
Sarah has always had a love for dentistry. She finds everything about dentistry fascinating and has since the second grade; in the second grade she even dressed up as a dentist for career day! Sarah chose pediatrics because she loves to educate the young minds of the importance of dental hygiene. Sarah was born in Alton, IL and raised in Sullivan, MO. She moved to the Houston area in 2016 with her husband, Alex. In Sarahs free time she enjoys spending time with her husband and dog, Yadi (named after a St. Louis Cardinals baseball player). When asked what the most rewarding thing about being in pediatrics is, Sarah responded with, seeing our patients smiling faces on a daily basis!
Vilma has been with Care for Kids Pediatric Dentistry almost since day one. She has developed a strong and lasting relationship with so many of our young patients. Her professionalism and passion for patient care exemplify what Care for Kids Pediatric Dentistry is all about. Vilma attended Lamar Institute of Technology in Beaumont, Texas where she received her Dental Hygiene License. Vilma was born in Cleburne, Texas but has called Houston, Texas home since 1990. Vilma is married to her husband Rick and together they have a beautiful daughter named Rikki. In Vilmas spare time you can find her at the softball fields cheering her daughter on or spending time with Rick and Rikki doing family things.
Rebeca is one of our bright smiling hygienists your child will see when they come in for their cleaning. Rebeca was born and raised in Texas. In Rebecas free time she likes to spend time with her 2 dogs and her husband. Rebeca chose pediatrics because she loves being able to care for very important little people in a lighthearted setting. Rebeca also shares, plus, kids make me laugh with their imaginative wits.
Tiffany was born and raised in Humble and works in our office PRN. In Tiffanys free time she enjoys watching her children play sports and traveling. Tiffany chose pediatrics because she believes that teaching kids at an early age proper oral hygiene is very important and necessary.

Great dentist, staff, and facility*. In the past we had a 45 minute wait in the lobby. The most recent appointments were better. Waited about 15 minutes each time. * The large waiting room with a large lit up, interactive video dance floor can be loud when parents don't raise their children to behave. Five stars if the waiting room was a library instead if the dance floor LOL.

I come back to change my review after I received a bill for something that they don't do .. They charge to my insurance a X-ray. My son it's 2 year old, They don't take any X-ray to him . They only try to get you money , so check what they claim in to you insurance because Can not be true!

I used to live in the area so this was the dental office I would bring my 3 oldest children. Since I had moved and due to distance I took my 4 year old to another dentist, he needs a treatment and has to be sedated I was not too comfortable with how they wanted to proceed with the treatment, so I went and got a second opinion at another dental office and yet I was still not too sure about it. FINALLY I was like I am just going to take him to Care for Kids Pediatric, since they never made me feel this way about one of my other children when they had to have a dental procedure. They made me feel so much comfortable with the protocol they have in regards to sedation and where it will be done. The travel and miles should not matter when it comes to peace of mind as a parent when your child's safety and treatment are top priority. My only regret is not bringing him here sooner but I know now he will be well taken care of and will continue to bring him for his dental checkups. Thank you Care for Kids team!

Today was my sons very first appointment and he loved it! (He's 2 1/2) Dr Patrick was incredible and made him so comfortable! I highly recommend this office.

We drive an hour each way to see Dr. Patrick! He recently put crowns on two of my sons teeth- my son has sensory issues and is more anxious than the average child at the dentist. He immediately calmed down once Dr. Patrick came in the room and explained exactly what he would be doing. I can't say enough about how wonderful he and his entire staff are!

I been coming to this dentist since my son was born it used to be good but now they have changed/hired new staff and it just sucks now they are not as friendly anymore and they pick favorites now as in for example it has never been a problem until for some reason they didnt let my wife and me go in with my 2 kids they told us only one parent only I understand but why were the couples that were before us both parents went in without problem wouldnt same rule apply to them? They just pick favorites or just a race thing not sure so all the staff needs to get on the same page or put a sign showing only one parent so everyone gets treated equally

My teenagers been with Dr. Patrick since they were 3,4, and 5. Now my other kids have been with him since they were 6 months to now. So he always do amazing work. He very nice and kind. He so sweet to all my kids, and his staff. We highly recommend him for special needs children, because I have special needs children.

Great experience. Dr. Patrick is very knowledgeable, personable and realistic when it comes to caring for your kiddo's oral health. My little ones went full banshee mode the first time I brought them (as young toddlers). They totally fed off of each other, it was all kinds of rough. Dr. Patrick and his staff went above and beyond to serve our family and to reassure us, as we felt terrible for the super dramatic ruckus. The whole office is well-layedout with thoughtful design to help young children feel more at ease. Additionally, from my understanding, there is a practice-relationship with Texas Children's, which is ideal for parents, like myself, who have special medical needs to work around and with. Highly recommend!
