After working as a dentist for two years in one of the nations leading practices, Dr. James was selected for matriculation at the University of the Pacific, Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry in San Francisco. While there he became active in volunteer organizations and took on leadership roles including that of class president.
Dr. James graduated as Valedictorian of his class and received his Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree in addition to numerous honors and awards for his scholastic achievements. He was inducted into the honor societies of Phi Kappa Phi, Omicron Kappa Upsilon and Tau Kappa Omega.
Following dental school, Dr. James was selected as a resident in the Graduate Orthodontics Program at University of the Pacific. He graduated as an Orthodontic Specialist with a Master of Science Degree.
Soon after graduation, Dr. James moved to Kansas City and joined one of the leading orthodontic practices in the United States. Here he worked for 6 years and gained extensive experience in treating all types of malocclusions.

I love my results of my teeth from Invisalign , I get compliments every where I go! I originally started out at fry orthodontist in KC -which is CArdinals sister office. So Fry ortho really did all the hard work but cardinal carried me out great! No complaints.

When my son and I entered the office we were greeted warmly by the receptionist. The Dr. Galea and all his workers were awesome!!! The process was straight forward and seamless.

I went there for a consultation to see if the doctor would recommend braces or Invisalign for my teeth. After hearing the doctors the recommendation they offered to apply my braces at that time. The staff here are super nice and the services was very quick. I literally walked out of this consultation with braces, that's how great their services are.

I would like to say thank you to Connie, Laura, and Erika for their kindness and quick assistance with replacing my retainer. I needed a new one quickly and they were able to fit me in right away. These 3 young ladies were all very nice and I am grateful for their help. They made a new one in no time and were very kind and understanding. Thanks !!!!

I highly recommend Cardinal Orthodontics! We've had three family members need braces and have been to four different orthodontists over the years. Dr. Galea and Cardinal Orthodontics is by far the best! The office is organized and efficient. Every staff member is friendly and welcoming. They are great with timid patients and explain everything they are doing. The billing office is fantastic - the best we've worked with. They use modern technology and techniques to address orthodontic challenges, which made for a shorter braces experience for our youngest child. And Dr. Galea is exceptionally friendly, gentle, engaging with kids, and answers all of our questions. This is the very best orthodontist office we've ever been to!

Everything about Cardinal Orthodontics has been amazing. We were greeted by such a sweet and caring staff. Our appointment was with Laura and she was so helpful and knowledgeable. Dr. James then answered all of my sons questions before he had his braces on so he was at ease. The staff putting his braces on were also great and showed how much they care about their patients. We will recommend anyone to go to Cardinal Orthodontics!

I had wanted braces for a very long time and put it off for many different reasons. Cardinal orthodontics offered a free consultation and was able to explain all my options and answer all my questions. The staff as well as the doctor are all super kind and caring! They made me feel comfortable and were easy to interact with. I have now had braces for 9 months and have been VERY HAPPY with all the care I have received!!! I highly recommend them if you are considering braces!!:):)

I actually received my care at the Webster Groves location until Dr. James & his staff moved to Rock Hill. The moment I walked in & was given so much hospitality that still lingers today, my time has been nothing but amazing! The service was amazing, I never felt pressured or uncomfortable even though I was very discouraged about my teeth. Dr. James & his staff were welcoming! My braces were taken off before the estimated time for them to be taken off and I love my teeth so much! I highly recommend everyone I know including you who is reading this review to go see my extended family and allow them to bless your smile! Thank you Dr. James & Cardinal Orthodontics Family!

this place is heaven sent. when i called them months ago i told the nice lady that no matter the cost i had to get my son his braces, well she told me about the start a smile foundation and what it consisted of and so i took a leap of faith and just a month ago they told me he was a finalist and that we needed to make the appointment and that after the appointment they would call to let us know well today i took josiah in for the evaluation and dr james talked to josiah and got to know him a little bit and then asked josiah if he wanted his braces on today and all i could do is thank god because i had no idea that they chose my son for the foundation. this office and the workers are angels to me and josiah, after we left my son smiled for the first time in months due to his teeth. thank you so much cardinal orthodontics you are forever in our hearts.

I have close family members that really struggled to find an orthodontist they were comfortable with but this place was amazing. They were very kind and transparent about all of the options and processes. Ceara really helped remove a lot of stress from the whole process with her knowledge and professionalism. I had a great experience at Cardinal Orthodontics. The staff is fantastic! They are very friendly, skilled at what they do and made my time in the office quite comfortable. Scheduling and financing was a breeze with this staff. Dr James was very attentive to all my concerns, He was always willing to spend the time needed to address my smile and turn it into the smile I always wanted it to be.
