Dr. Hoffman was born in Delaware County Pennsylvania. He graduated from West Chester State College with degrees in accounting, biology and chemistry. He was awarded the DMD degree from Temple University School of Dentistry and was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Honor Society at graduation. He completed his Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency training at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York City. This is one of the busiest training programs in the country and he received extensive training in all phases of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, with an emphasis on trauma surgery and surgery to correct dentofacial
deformities.Dr. Hoffman is a diplomate of The American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He is a fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and a member of the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology, American Dental Association, Pennsylvania Dental Association and past president of the local dental society.
He began private practice in Lehighton, Pennsylvania in 1988 and has lived in the Lehighton area since then. He has two children, one who works at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia and one who works at a Philanthropic Foundation in New York City.
Dr. McLaughlin was born in western Pennsylvania, and is married with two grown children who are teachers. Dr. McLaughlin graduated from Penn State with a bachelor degree in zoology in 1970. He then attended Temple University School of Dentistry graduation with a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. After dental school, Dr. McLaughlin entered the Army where he completed his Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency at Walter Reed Army Medical Center. During his 24 years in the Army Dental Corps, he practiced general dentistry and oral and maxillofacial surgery.For six years, Dr. McLaughlin was Assistant Director and then Director of the Army's Oral and
Maxillofacial Surgery Residency at Brooke Army Medical Center where he taught other dentists to be oral surgeons.In the past, Dr. McLaughlin has been an instructor in Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Advanced Trauma Life Support. He has practiced oral and maxillofacial surgery with Carbon Oral Surgery Associates since his retirement from the Army in 1998.
His membership in professional organizations include: Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, member of the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology, American Dental Association and Pennsylvania Dental Association.
Dr. McLaughlin has published articles in the Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Clinics of North America. He has received multiple military awards culminating in being awarded the A designator by the Surgeon General (an honorary award given for outstanding contributions to one's specialty) and the Legion of Merit award.

Great Doctors and great staff in general, very friendly and professional. My boyfriend had to get his wisdom teeth removed a few weeks ago, the staff were incredible and were very thorough with instructions on what to do post surgery.

On August 2, 2022, I had all of my remaining teeth removed. They were riddled with cavities and prone to infection. The doctor and the entire staff went out of their way to make sure I was as comfortable as possible during this unpleasant procedure. Their before and after care was also excellent. Prior to surgery, they helped me deal with two infections, and the pain afterwards. All procedures were explained completely, as well as care after surgery. I definitely recommend Carbon Oral Surgery Associates for their caring and professional service.

I have had several visits with Dr. McLaughlin throughout the past several years and I would never go to anybody else! He is fantastic. He sits down and explains everything to you and doesn't rush you. He has an awesome sense of humor which makes the visit a little bit easier. I highly recommend him. The staff is amazing and very helpful too. Great experience all around. I had to come back and edit this review a year later. I am going thru top denture process and this time I had Dr. Hoffman. He truly is a gem!!! Fantastic surgeon and I highly recommend him. He is very patient and has you feeling comfortable because his bedside manner is so pleasant. I loved both surgeons and have to throw in again how kind the front desk is. Wonderful place.

Very nice office with excellent staff. Dr Hoffman couldn't be nicer and his assistant and he both were constantly concerned with your comfort. Highly recommend this office.

They brought me tears (of joy!!). Got me in to fix a broken molar - bringing pain like I've never felt before. The front office was so incredibly helpful and understanding!! And Dr Hoffman was quick and proficient. Educated me on the whole process, and his assistant was so attentive. Overall A+ service. Highly recommended

I got all 4 wisdom teeth pulled 1-29-2021 and had a great experience. I was very nervous going in but dr. Hoffman and his staff made me feel very comfortable and put my mind at ease with jokes and small talk. I would highly recommend this office for anyone looking to get oral surgery. They also called me to check up on me the day of surgery so 5 stars from me. Thank you carbon oral surgery and staff!

I had a capped tooth that broke, and a molar that had a cracked root removed by Dr Hoffman. He is wonderful, considerate of my needs, went the extra mile to relieve my concerns. The next day I had no pain whatsoever, it was an extraordinary experience.
