Dr. Rinaldo Caponera chose to study orthodontics because of the powerful impact a person's smile can have on their self-esteem. He enjoys establishing a long-term relationship with his patients and always treats them like they are a part of his family.
After graduating with a degree in chemistry from Emory University, Dr. Caponera made his way back to Florida and completed Nova Southeastern University's Dental School 2nd in his class. He was inducted into the prestigious Omicron Kappa Upsilon honor society and continued his studies at Nova to specialize in orthodontics. Upon finishing school with honors in 2004, Dr. Caponera partnered with Dr. Norman Gorback until taking over the practice in 2008.
Dr. Caponera is a member of numerous professional associations including the American Association of Orthodontists, the Florida Association of Orthodontists, the American Dental Association, and the Florida Dental Association. He is on the Executive Council of the Broward County Dental Association. To remain on the cutting edge in his field, Dr. Caponera takes many continuing education courses in the subjects such as temporary anchorage devices, Invisalign, lasers, lingual braces and self-ligating brackets. He incorporates all of these technologies into his treatment plans.
Dr. Caponera feels a deep commitment to his community and volunteers at several charitable organizations including the Muscular Dystrophy Association, Adopt-A-Classroom, The Smile Train, Smiles Change Lives and the Jewish Adoption and Foster Care Options.
He married his college sweetheart, Marissa. They have two amazing boys. Caleb Toren was born on March 8, 2010 and Asher Talon was born October 24, 2016. They also live with their two dogs, Nadia and Edge. When he's not in the office, Dr. Caponera is most likely near the ocean enjoying water sports and surfing.
Dr. Abelardo Daya is originally from Puerto la Cruz, Venezuela. He first obtained his dental degree from Universidad Gran Mariscal de Ayacucho (UGMA) in Barcelona, Venezuela. During his extramural rotation, he realized how much of an impact orthodontics can have on the patients self-esteem and confidence and in 2012, he decided to move to the United States to pursue his dream of becoming an Orthodontist. He completed the International Dental Graduate (IDG) program at Nova Southeastern University where he received his Doctor of Dental Medicine (D.M.D.) degree in 2016 ranking in the top 10% of his class. He continued his education at NSU where he specialized in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics in 2018 and obtained a Masters in Science degree. Dr. Daya is a board certified orthodontist from the prestigious American Board of Orthodontics (ABO) since April 2019.
Dr. Daya remains active with his community and has volunteered in multiple events such as Give Kids a Smile (GKAS), Lunch in a Box program, Day for Children health screening, and Oral Cancer awareness events at NSU. He is also a member of multiple professional associations including the American Association of Orthodontics, Southern Association of Orthodontics, Florida Association of Orthodontics, and South Florida Academy of Orthodontics. Dr. Daya also participates in multiple continuing education courses and seminars to bring fresh and new ideas to the practice such as Invisalign, lingual braces, lasers, accelerating orthodontics devices, and surgical orthodontics to offer to our patients.
Dr. Daya is very passionate about languages, sports, and technology. He is fluent in English, Spanish and Arabic. He enjoys playing soccer with his friends and practicing sports in the community such as running and triathlons.
Mary Ellen is very welcoming and friendly. She was born and raised in Syracuse, New York. Mary Ellen obtained her Associates of Applied Science in 2010 before moving to South Florida. She is a certified dental assistant and a certified orthodontic assistant. Out of the office, Mary Ellen enjoys concerts, running, and spending time with her husband, Matt.
Osiris, affectionately known as Osi, was born in Havana, Cuba and moved to Florida in 1985. She has over 20 years experience in dentistry and is a certified orthodontic assistant. She is very gentle and always makes the patients feel comfortable. Osi is married with two daughters and enjoys spending time with her family.
Vanessa, who always has positive energy and a smile on her face, was born in Cali, Colombia. She came to Florida in 2010. Vanessa started orthodontic assisting in 2012 and is a certified orthodontic assistant. She went to dental school in Colombia and is currently studying at Florida Atlantic University. Vanessa's hobbies include reading, salsa dancing, traveling, and meditation.
Maria is originally from Venezuela and has been working for an orthodontics lab since 2004. She joined our team in 2016. Maria is multi-functional, where she exceeds in assisting, front desk, and lab work. Maria is very calm and welcoming. In her spare time she likes to cook, dance salsa and spend time with her family.

Poor when it comes to emergency service. So if your ever feeling pains after hours or over the weekend. Their so called emergency doctor is never available and also no one answer the phone.

I am so happy that we chose Dr. Caponera for my daughter's braces. He is so knowledgeable and made my daughter feel so much more at ease about getting braces. Dr Caponera's staff is also very friendly and they run the office very efficiently!! Outstanding experience!!

My family and I have been patients of Dr. Caponera's for over fifteen years. He is not just an excellent orthodontist, he is extremely kind, caring and attentive. I've referred many friends to him, and they've all been extremely happy with their experience. Sharon (his office manager) is a doll. She always fits us in whenever we need to be seen, and his staff is super friendly and competent. He treated both my kids, who are now grown adults with beautiful smiles. A few years ago I had the pleasure of doing my Invisalign with him and could not be happier with my results. I can honestly say you will not be sorry if you choose this practice. Dr. Caponera is truly the best of the best.

So glad I chose Dr Caponera for my second go at Invisalign. My first experience with an ortho up in New York 5 years ago didn't turn out so great. After my New York Invisalign treatment, I ended up with a space in between my front two teeth. It had bothered me and kept opening up even with a wire in my mouth so I decided to give it a go again. After visiting 4 orthodontists and Dentists around the area, I decided to go with Dr. Caponera. Caponera Orthodontics was not the least expensive but during my initial consultation, Drea, I believe one of the hygienists, was very thorough in her examination and terrific at explaining everything. I decided to go with them after this consultation and I'm so glad I did. After around 9 months (as estimated) I finished my Invisalign treatment, my teeth are now straight and the gap is closed and no wire needed! Dr Caponera was so great at listening and making little tweaks and adjustments to get it right. His team and staff are very detail oriented (just what I wanted for Invisalign, especially my second go at it). Highly recommended this orthodontist practice, especially if you're looking for an ortho to conduct an Invisalign treatment the right way!

We've been seeing Dr. Caponera for a little over a year now and we are so grateful to have found him. He really goes above and beyond and pays close attention to every detail. He and his staff are friendly , professional, and just so great at what they do! We have been so happy with our sons results thus far and would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a great orthodontist! he's definitely 5 star !

My two boys have beautiful smiles thanks to doctor Caponera! At his office you will find the most welcoming staff, always helpful and ready to answer any questions. Dr. Caponera is so professional and explained every step of the process giving my boys the chance to express their opinions and concerns. Overall a great experience, highly recommend!

This is the best practice in all of Florida!!! They are family friendly, professional, accommodating and understanding. They made Lielle feel like she was the most important patient and were willing to spend time explaining what they were doing and put her fears at ease. We recommend them to everyone considering braces or orthodontics.

Dr. Caponera and his team are truly amazing. I had been considering Invisalign to correct my teeth which had shifted since I had braces in high school, and Dr. Caponera was confident that he could correct my shifting teeth and give me the bigger smile I had been dreaming of. He is so friendly and he makes you feel very comfortable from the first consultation, and he was confident that the treatment could work for me. At each appointment, I never had to wait, and his staff was so friendly and courteous through my entire 18 month treatment. I am so thrilled with the result. Thank you for making my experience such a positive one!

Although I haven't had work done by Dr Caponera,I can honestly say hes a very good denist,kind,passionate, as well as a good person,husband and father. He has an awesome family and I've worked for them all. I have known Ronny,(Rinaldo Caponera) since he was 17 years old,that's been some years.Lol

I absolutely love this practice & Dr. Caponera. When I went in the summer of 2017 for my consultation, they were professional, and most of all very transparent about what the process would look like to achieve the smile of my dreams. After visiting with other practices, I chose to go with this practice, and I have not a single regret about it. Dr. Caponera is friendly and most significantly, a perfectionist. Towards the end of my treatment, it was all about the fine tuning, so whenever he mentioned what other tweaking he'd like to do, and I was all onboard with it. So while my treatment was a bit longer than expected (over 2 years), the result was way better than I ever could've asked for. I highly recommend them to anyone (especially adults who wanted to be treated with respect and quality care!).

Dr. Caponera and his office is the absolute best! I'm an adult and I've had a lot of experience with having braces during my teen years and again in my 20s. When I got engaged I really wanted to fix my bottom teeth that had shifted and Dr. Caponera did not disappoint! When you visit Dr Caponera for the first time he instantly makes you feel comfortable and treats you like a good friend. He is very professional, knowledgeable and takes his time to address any questions or concerns that you have. He truly cares about his patients. He is also amazing with kids! I will always be his patient if I need anything in the future and now that I have children, he will be their orthodontist too! The dental office is clean, new and comfortable. His office staff are efficient and friendly. I never write reviews, but Dr. Caponera is TRULY a gem!
