Dr. John Capogna has been Long Islands premier orthodontic specialist for more than 25 years. His passion for his patients, expertise in orthodontics, and emphasis on aesthetics allow him to treat children, adolescent, and adult patients. Dr. Capognas goal is to provide the highest quality of orthodontic care in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Dr. Capogna is committed to treating all of his patients like family and dedicated to giving each patient a beautiful smile.
Dr. Capogna obtained his Bachelor of Science degree from Brooklyn College of Pharmacy and his Doctorate of Dental Medicine from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. He practiced general dentistry for one year to get a solid foundation in dentistry before attending the University of Pennsylvania for his orthodontic specialty degree. He also trained at Children's Hospital of Pennsylvania where he received extensive experience treating orthognathic surgical patients.
Dr. Capogna remains on the cutting-edge of orthodontic innovation and is a leader in the field, regularly attending continuing education seminars and study clubs. He incorporates the most advanced technology to ensure the best results for his patients.
Dr. Capogna loves to spend time with his family and friends. Dr. Capogna and his wife, Patricia, have three beautiful children, Brian, Michael, and Nicole, and an eight-pound dog named Rocky. Outside of the office, Dr. Capogna enjoys sporting events and is an avid traveler. He is also a great cook and enjoys making homemade pizza!
Dr. Mike was born and raised on Long Island. He attended Saint Anthonys High School. Upon graduation, he continued his studies at Boston College where he double majored in Biology and Human Development. After four years away from home, Dr. Mike returned to Long Island to receive his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from Stony Brook School of Dental Medicine. While in dental school, Dr. Mike received numerous academic awards, held leadership roles, and spent a summer in Madagascar providing dental care to underserved populations.
Following dental school, he completed his residency training in orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics at the University of Pennsylvania. During his residency, Dr. Mike was trained in the utilization of the latest orthodontic techniques such as Invisalign, 3D imaging, and orthognathic surgery. He performed clinical research, spent time with the cleft and craniofacial teams at the Childrens Hospital of Pennsylvania (CHOP), and treated a variety of complex and interdisciplinary cases.
Dr. Mike is passionate about providing patients of all ages with beautiful, healthy smiles in a family atmosphere. He takes great pride in the fact that Capogna Orthodontics is truly a family practice.
Dr. Christine Capogna was born and raised in Binghamton, New York. She attended Villanova University, where she obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology in only three years and graduated summa cum laude. She subsequently spent four years training at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine, where she earned her Doctor in Dental Medicine (DMD) degree with Honors in Community Oral Health. While in dental school, Dr. Christine held many leadership roles and was involved in several community outreach programs, including a summer mission trip to provide dental care in Panama. Following her graduation from dental school, Dr. Christine continued her education at Penn, where she completed her residency in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics. During her residency, Dr. Christine served as Chief Resident, performed clinical research, and was trained in the latest orthodontic techniques and advanced technologies. Following residency, Dr. Christine spent 3 years working in Private Practice in the Greater Philadelphia and South Jersey areas.
In her spare time, Dr. Christine enjoys reading, listening to podcasts, riding her Peloton, hiking, camping, and playing board games with Dr. Mike. She also loves trying out new recipes in the kitchen with Dr. Mike and spending quality time with their family and friends.
Dr. Christine appreciates the opportunity to work with patients of all ages to develop the healthy and beautiful smiles they deserve. She enjoys getting to know her patients well over the course of their treatment and is motivated by the trust her patients place in her. Dr. Christine especially loves to see her patients confidence grow as their smiles transform. She could not be more excited to join Capogna Orthodontics skilled and enthusiastic team!
Dr. Laura Bodner is a specialist in orthodontics. She graduated from Binghamton University with a bachelors degree in biology. Dr. Bodner earned her Doctorate of Dental Medicine from the University of Pennsylvania. She was then accepted into the University of Pennsylvanias orthodontic residency program where she completed her specialty training in orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics.
Dr. Bodner is experienced in all phases of orthodontic treatment for children, teens, and adults. She is trained in the most advanced orthodontic techniques, including Invisalign, lingual braces, 3D imaging, temporary anchorage devices (TADs) and periodontally accelerated osteogenic orthodontics (PAOO).
Dr. Bodner was raised on Long Island and currently lives in Great Neck with her husband, Scott, her adorable son Benjamin and her playful cockapoo, Teddy.In her free time, she enjoys kickboxing, Zumba and spending quality time with her family and friends.
