I love being an orthodontist!Over the past 15-plus years in practice, I have had the opportunity to meet so many wonderful people from all over the world. It has always been my focus to make each patient feel like they are part of my family when they come in for an treatment, and I work hard to give my patients the complete attention they deserve.
My dental and orthodontic education at the University of Pennsylvania under the mentorship of the late Dr. Robert Vanarsdall, a world-renowned orthodontist and periodontist, has prepared me to treat the most complex multi-disciplinary cases with confidence and success.
By regularly participating in continuing education, I am able to stay current on the latest technology and orthodontic treatments. My patients deserve the best, and continuing education allows me to provide them with more options and better results.
I am truly blessed to live and work in such a wonderful community. I enjoy getting to know my patients and their families, and it is always such an honor to know that I have made a difference in so many of my patientslives. I couldnt ask for a better job or for better people to share their smiles with me.
On a personal level, I love spending time with my wife Jennifer, three children, Justin, Madelyn, and Brandon, and my Wheaten Terrier, Bella. I enjoy playing tennis, golfing, hiking, skiing, and cycling.I root for the Wizards, Redskins, and New York Yankees!

Vanessa and her husband has an active and affectionate dog named Kaylee who they loveto play with - oh and 2 beautiful children as well. In her free time, she likes to go running and hiking and spending time with her lovely children, Natalie and Nathan.
Janeth hasbeen assisting Dr. Schwartz since 1999 by doing everything from changing wires to taking impressions. Capitol Orthodontics patients are really unique and Janeth loves learning about their different cultures. Spanish is her first language, and she enjoys being able to communicate with all Spanish speaking patients. She believes Dr. Schwartz is a wonderful orthodontist, and he has a great knack for being able to explain treatment in a way that is easy to understand.
Tifani joined the team at Capitol Orthodontics in the beginning of 2014with a focus on team work and customer service. She is a people person with an enthusiastic personality. Her favorite part of her job is meeting new people every day and helping them achieve their goal of a beautiful smile! She is your primary contact for scheduling, finances, and insurance.
Shawna joined Capitol Orthodontics officallyin 2018 but had been workingwith our general dental colleagues for the past 25 years. From your first call until the day you finish your last retainer check-up, Shawna is your primary contact and source of information.
Kelley began working with Capitol Orthodontics in 2019. Her kindness and gentle approach make every patient feel at ease. Shes passionate about delivering the very best patient care in our inviting and relaxing environment.
Nina joined the team in 2019 but has been in dentistry for over 10 years and thoroughly enjoys the difference that a perfect smile makes in others lives. She genuinely loves building bonds and making patients feel welcome in our practice with her bubbly personality.
Board-certified orthodontist Dr. Andrew Schwartz tailors each patients treatment to their unique clinical needs and personal desires. He focuses on the individuals specific concerns and delivers the most beautiful, healthy results in an efficient, comfortable manner.
Along with his skilled team, Dr. Schwartz has created an orthodontic practice that blends professionalism and personal service. We are quality-oriented, not quantity, and strictly limit the number of patients in our care at any one time.
We see patients from 9 to 5, Monday through Friday, and offer some Saturday hours, too. In addition, all patients have access to Dr. Schwartzs personal email and cell phone in event of an orthodontic emergency outside of regular office hours.

Dr. Andrew Schwartz is the Best Orthodontist in the DMV area I believe! Not many orthodontists in the area are board certified, only the very few top % of orthdontists can be. I have my braces done already and very happy with my new smile! All his staff are great too, very customer-oritented serices! Highly recommended!

I appreciated how Dr. S. quickly diagnosed the source of my mouth irritation and was able to propose a modest intervention that did not entail extensive (and expensive) orthodonture. So far his remedy has been very effective.

Dr.Schwartz always provides a caring and professional experience. He's great with kids and treats my son and daughter with the utmost care. The staff is highly trained and the practice is outfitted in the latest innovations in orthodontics. I highly recommend him!

Dr. Schwartz and his team are highly experienced, opinionated and very professional. Not looking for a shortcut or a quick result, they insisted on a more intricate route and delivered an outstanding work. First, they are real pros and second, just a pleasure to work with - always responsive and caring. Very happy with the result! Highly recommend them!

I visited Dr. Schwartz on the referral of another dentist who thought I might need some orthodontics to make space for some restorative work. He took a significant amount of time to review my X-rays, mouth photos and did a thorough exam of the areas involved. He showed me some very helpful animated videos of various procedures. All to determine that I really didn't need his services. I came in fearing long-term and expensive treatment and left with a bill for $0 and a promise to call the referring dentist and explain that orthodontics were likely not necessary. God forbid I ever actually need orthodontics, but if I do, I'll be seeing Dr. Schwartz.

Today was my first appointment with Dr. Schwartz' office. Each and every person in that office treats you with respect, kindness, and earnest care one would expect from a orthodontist office of yore. I was completely taken aback with how knowledgeable everyone was, especially Dr. Schwartz. He took his time, answered every question I had, and created a detailed and personalized plan for orthodontic wellness for me. I would unabashedly recommend him to everyone in the DMV seeking orthodontic care for themselves or their loved ones. He has certainly earned my family's trust, and business for the foreseeable future.

Dr. Schwartz was recommended to me by a friend for a consult. He was thorough, personable and weighed the benefits as opposed to the minuses of getting braces. In the end, he did not recommend braces. His staff was very well organized , cheerful and respectful. I would absolutely recommend him.

Dr Schwartz is personally a great guy, highly skilled, professional, detail-oriented, thorough and his staff are extremely courteous and friendly. The surgery is very conveniently located in DC and he also has another surgery in Rockville, which means he is able to serve a wider geographical area, half a week in the district and half a week in Maryland. I did Invisalign with Dr Schwartz and had a very good experience and outcome. From what I could tell, his prices are generally in line with the market rate. He does run a pretty tight ship and naturally will outsource the tasks he can to his team, which allows him to see more patients. I never had any problems getting a convenient appointment or moving one when needs be. I would recommend and have recommended Dr Schwartz to any friends looking for an orthodonist.

Poor service does not justify the price. Overall I am satisfied with the level of work Dr. Schwarz provided. My teeth have not had any issues since my braces came off a few years ago. I paid $6-$7k for my braces. That being said the service was POOR and Dr. Schwarz was totally aloof. 1)They refused to give me enough wax to protect my gums on multiple occasions and the inside of my mouth (which was terribly painful) and refused to send me any when I was out of town. Good thing my parents dentist, who gave me about 10 times as much wax as Dr. Schwarz had ever given me, gave it to me FOR FREE. 2)Their front desk people were horrible - never made my life any easier - just not that intelligent or able to read and help people. They have two business entities one in Rockville and one in DC at the time they could not coordinate with each other, and it left the burden on me on top of them being unable to provide the level of service they charged for. 3)Dr. Schwarz is also totally socially aloof. Talking about the $200 gift certificate one of his vendors gave him to a fancy DC steak house, in front of his staff was pretty rude. A good orthodontist would have given that to one of his staff for their good service, which most of his staff provided except for the front desk. Looks like Dr. Schwarz is doing okay though - judging by his well appointed office with a window view of K st and by the marble floors with Capital Orthodontics embedded in the middle. Think the premium price covers the cost of the marble, but not for taking care of his staff or patients.
