Dr. Frederick Marra was born in Cohoes, New York. He attended college at the University of Rochester, graduating in 1976. Following graduation, he attended the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He earned his D.M.D. degree in 1980, and stayed on to complete a residency training program in General Dentistry, completing this in 1981. In 1981, he returned to his hometown of Cohoes, New York and began to practice with his father, Dr. Harry W. L. Marra, making Capital Region for Complete Dental Care & Implants a general dental practice with 80 years of service.

Since entering into private practice in 1981, Dr. Marra has followed a path of advancing his education. In 1989, he received his fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry, successfully completing over 500 hours of education, followed by the successful completion of the written fellowship examination. He then went on in 2000 to earn his Mastership in the Academy of General Dentistry. Dr. Marra earned an additional 600 hours of continuing education credits, with 400 of those hours in participation programs. He completed an American Academy of Implant Dentistry-sanctioned maxi course at Brookdale Hospital in New York, and successfully completed the written associate fellowship examination. He became a Fellow in the International Congress of Oral Implantology. From 1982 through 1984, he completed a two-year orthodontic training program at the Institute for Graduate Dentists in New York City and has since completed numerous hours in orthodontic training.

Dr. Marra is a member of the American Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, the American Academy of Implant Dentistry, the International Congress of Oral Implantology, and the International Association of Orthodontics. Dr. Marra is director for a local chapter of a Seattle Dental Study Club, The Capital District Continuum for Advanced Dental Education. The club is a forum where local dentists are provided lectures from high profile academia throughout the country on varied topics in interdisciplinary dentistry. This club also provides a venue for open discussion of patients treatment plans, a truly unique opportunity in the Capital District for both the club members and their patients.

Dr. Marra and his wife, Cindy, have two beautiful children, Natalie and Jake. In his spare time, Dr. Marra enjoys alpine skiing, road biking, water skiing and spending time in the Adirondack Mountains.

Joella started her dental career when she was just 18 years old! First trained as a chairside assistant, she gained knowledge of all aspects of clinical dentistry. Joella also has assisting and management experience in the field of oral and maxillofacial surgery. She joined our team in 2019. Her goal here is to incorporate her experience and knowledge acquired over the years to equip our team to best serve our patients and their families. Joella is also an amateur pool player, who has competed in Canada, Las Vegas, and Pennsylvania. When not playing pool, she enjoys spending downtime with her husband, two daughters, and her dog, Onyx.

Diane started with the Marra team when Dr. Marra first began working in private practice, over 35 years ago! Starting as a dental assistant to Dr. Harry Marra and Dr. Fred Marra, Diane eventually took on the position as Office Manager. In the Winter of 2015, Diane retired to spend more time with her 5 grandchildren. Last year, Diane returned to help us transition a new practice with ours. With the flexible part time hours, she still has plenty of time to spend with her grandkids, travel and watch UAlbany basketball.

Krishna started her dental career as a dental assistant in 1992 She joined Dr. Marras team when she graduated from Hudson Valley Community College in 1997, earning an associates degree in Dental Hygiene. After a break to raise a family, she returned to Dr. Marras staff in 2010. Krishna strives to make every experience at our office a positive one. When not in the office, Krishna enjoys photography, traveling and spending quality time with her 2 sons and her husband, John.

Donna has been part of Dr. Marras team for over 22 years. She received her dental hygiene degree at Hudson Valley Community College. Donna also helps to run Dr. Marras local chapter of the Seattle Study Club. She enjoys spending time getting to know her patients and understanding their wants and needs for their dental health. When she is not working, Donna loves to travel, read and spending time with her husband, Tim.

David is also a graduate of the Dental Hygiene program at Hudson Valley Community College. While attending HVCC, he served as the ADHA student chapter president. Before choosing a career in the dental field, David worked with the disabled in medical transportation. His attention to detail and enthusiasm to maintain high and current standards in the profession of dental hygiene is appreciated by patients and our entire team. In his time away from the dental chair, David enjoys spending time outdoors and is a classic car enthusiast.

Erica received her on the job training directly from Dr. Marra in 2004. In her 12 years working in the office, Erica has had extensive training. She has mastered chair-side assisting, sterilization, lab work and insurance and billing, just to name a few! Regardless of the situation, Erica is always willing to go above and beyond for each patient, ensuring that their care is exceptional and their visit was comfortable. At home, Erica cares for her large array of pets and loves to Kayak with her husband, Kurt. She is also a licensed esthetician!

Natalie is a Certified Dental Assistant, receiving her training from Hudson Valley Community College and of course her Dad! She has been a team member here since 2014. Growing up here at the office, patients love to see the friendly, smiling face theyve seen and heard about for 25 years. Chairside, Natalie does her best to keep every treatment relaxing and pleasant. Natalie loves to ride horses on her time off. In June of 2016, she was blessed with her baby boy Logan, who now occupies most of her free time!

Jane started her career in dentistry in 2018. She was first trained in a pediatric specialty office. Joining our team in 2020, Jane has quickly learned more aspects of general, surgical, and implant dentistry. She refers to herself as a tooth nerd and is always eager to learn new procedures, concepts, and technology in the dental field. In her free time, Jane spends time with her horse and family or you may find her reading a good dramatic book.
