Dedicated to lifelong learning, he has completed numerous continuing education courses to fortify his knowledge base in a wide range of areas, from complex implant dentistry to sleep medicine.

Your general dentist may refer you or your child to Capital District Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons to have teeth extracted that are no longer supporting your oral health. While losing a natural tooth might be difficult for some patients, it may be the right course of treatment to protect your family's oral and general wellness. Our Albany, NY oral surgeons are highly experienced in performing tooth extractions for patients of all ages, including young children, teens, adults, and elderly patients. Some of the most common reasons for having a tooth extraction are:

Based upon the sedation used throughout the extraction, you or your family member might be required to have an adult escort you home. While your gums heal, it is important to avoid smoking, spitting, and using straws. The recovery process will depend on the complexity of the tooth extraction; however, we advise that you or your child eat soft, room-temperature food for at least a few days after the procedure and avoid extremely hot or cold foods or beverages. To help facilitate the recovery phase, it is important to follow the specific aftercare instructions provided by our team. Post-treatment symptoms, such as swelling and tenderness, can often be managed with cold compresses against the face and over-the-counter pain relievers. A follow-up visit may be scheduled at Capital District Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons for suture removal and to allow our oral surgeons to evaluate your healing progress.

Tooth extractions for children and adults may be covered in part by dental insurance; however, sedation dentistry may not be a covered service. Prior to the procedure, we will call your insurance carrier to review your family's specific policy and estimate any personal costs. If you do not carry insurance or have out-of-pocket expenses, talk with our business team about payment options to help your care fit within your budget. Capital District Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons accepts several payment methods, including flexible plans through a third-party financing partner.

awful experience all the way around. Just because I wanted to be asleep, I had to go here. couldn't afford to keep going to other oral surgeon offices for estimates, as it's all about $

They never answered the phone. Called at 10, 11, 12, even on lunch time, and afternoon. What kind of service are they providing to the community if they are ignoring their phone calls??!!

The staff here is super nice. Dr Delgado and Megan feel like friends, super educated, professional friends of course. I've had a couple things done here and each visit was surprisingly pleasant. The girls at the front desk are super nice too and very knowledgeable. I'd definitely recommend if you need any dental work done.

They're honestly a great dental office. Very good customer service, and I had a great experience with little to no pain during my procedure. You can tell that the nursing staff and dentists definitely take the time to ensure their patients are well taken care of. I hope to never need their service again, but if I do, I'm glad to return.

Out of the two surgeries I had, one went good and one went horrible. First one, walked out with a fat lip and skin missing from my cheek, pestered, harassed and felt uncomfortable by the nurse who put the surgery together. Nurse nuts is what I called her. Second surgery, asked for painkillers and was told to take a Tylenol. At 45 years old, thanks for the insult. Don't you think I already took a Tylenol or an Advil before I called. Hello. Oh yeah, topper on the cake, first surgery wasn't given enough anesthesia and the doctor never finished I had to go back. Think twice before spending your money at this establishment and if so, ask for Dr. Adams and let no one else touch you. Take a Tylenol, yeah OK

Oh how lucky I was to choose this group! Dr. Timothy Adams was my oral surgeon, he was absolutely wonderful, as well as his dental technicians and the ladies at the front desk. I needed to have two unique surgeries a month apart, to remove very large Tori growths on the roof of my mouth, they had grown so large that they were interfering with my swallowing, talking and dental hygiene. Dr. Adams was just amazing he was friendly, kind, patient, extremely skilled and competent. I was so nervous, scared and apprehensive about having the surgery and also because it was scheduled during Covid. Dr. Adams put me to ease the moment I met him. I had very little pain after the surgeries and the healing went well. He did a superb job! Thank you Dr. Adams and everyone in the office!!! Margo Storey

Definitely recommend this place!!! My insurance didn't cover the procedure so it was pretty expensive but aside from that, the doctor and nurses were extremely nice and helpful. They made sure I didn't have any questions at all and made sure I was comfortable before starting anything. The procedure was done within 5 minutes and they gave me everything I could need for my recovery. They do expect you to pay upfront the full amount right after you get it done, which wasn't addressed to me by word of mouth or in any of the paperwork, which really sucked but that's the only negative thing I would have to say !!!

I had an infected wisdom tooth removed yesterday. All I can say is Dr.Delgado is an artist! I've had no pain, no bruising, no swelling, and minimal bleeding that only lasted for a few hours. His staff is kind, comforting and knowledgeable. Stephanie was my nurse and she was just wonderful! His office made this experience as easy as it possibly could've been. Thank you so much!

I had the most surprisingly pleasant experience with my wisdom teeth removal with Dr. Adams here. He is so nice and makes you feel at ease. I didn't have any swelling afterwards and very minimal discomfort. The staff is also very friendly and I was able to get a consultation and the treatment scheduled SO quickly. Highly recommend this place!

I went in on 12/20/18 for a consultation to have my wisdom teeth removed. They gave me a break down of the price and said they would send it to my insurance company for a pre determination. It's now 1/18/19 and my dental provider has not received anything from them despite my 5 phone calls. I also paid $200 out of pocket to get a cat scan done of my nerves and was told the doctor would call me soon. This was three weeks ago. The office staff was also horribly rude when I called to discuss my problems. I am going to a different surgeon to get them removed after all of this .Waste of time and money .
