It can be hard to call a dental practice for the first time. Maybe it has been a while since your last visit to the dentist. Maybe you are embarrassed by your smile but you dont know where to start. Maybe you want to change dental offices but arent sure where else to go.
We treat all our patients the way we would like our family to be treated. That means taking the time with every patient to understand who they are, what their goals for the oral health are, and designing a plan to reach those goals.
Our practice was founded over forty years ago by Dr. Thomas Wright Jr. DDS. He instilled in the practice a passion for dentistry, continuous learning, and patient care. Dr. Wright was at the forefront of implant dentistry, laser dentistry, and adhesive dentistry.
Dr. Forbes is a graduate of the Virginia Military Institute in Lexington, Virginia. His Bachelors of Science in biology was accompanied by a minor in English, and a concentration in molecular, cellular and biological chemistry. He graduated as a distinguished graduate with Institute Honors, the highest academic achievement at the Institute. His education at VMI was augmented by a study abroad at Oxford University. Dr. Forbes spent all four years at VMI on the cross country and track teams where he ran the 5k and the 10k. Dr. Forbes received his Doctor of Dental Surgery from Virginia Commonwealth University/Medical College of Virginia where he was on the MCV honor court for two years and was on the Deans list.
Following his time at VCU, Dr. Forbes completed a two year residency at Wake Forest in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. In his second year he had the opportunity to be the chief resident of the Department of Dentistry. His broad training here included several months in the Emergency Department, working with Otolaryngology, Anesthesia, working as part of the cleft lip and palate team, over 100 operating room cases, over 60 IV conscious sedation cases, and maintaining a more standard private practice presence in the attached dental clinics. Dr. Forbes post-graduate education includes over 1000 hours of continuing education. He has been heavily involved in the continuing education curriculum at Spear Education. He has traveled to Munich, Germany to learn from Dr. Markus Hrzeler and Dr. Otto Zuhr and has traveled to the Beverly Hills Dental Laboratory to learn from Michel Magne and Dr. Nazariy Mykhaylyuk.
Our team is a mix of people who have been with us for a very long time (we won't say exactly how long) and new faces. Everyone brings their own expertise and personality to create the same great experience at our office.
Charles has been with us for over 15 years and is the other first person you will meet at our office. In the dental field for over 30 years, Charles can answer all your dental questions, from veneers to dental benefits, hes got you covered.
Rochelle has been with us over 15 years and is one of our stellar dental hygienists. She knows oral health incredibly well and is able to provide care in a comfortable way. Rochelle will keep your smile looking amazing.

The best of the best!! From the front desk you're met with smiles and a joke or 2 from Lisa and Charles. Dr. Forbes is amazing. I completed my invisalign treatment, whitening treatment, composite bonding, veneers, and done a routine cleaning. I'm beyond thankful for Dr Forbes and his team for all their great work. Now i'm finally happy and confident with my smile!

My fiance and I booked appointments here for the first time to get a cleaning before our wedding. Everyone was so kind and welcoming and gave us well wishes for our day :) I am always very hesitant to go to the dentist because I'm usually very pushed to pursue braces. I didn't feel pressured here at all about anything, and was actually told I had beautiful teeth which really made my day! We will definitely be happy to make this our regular dentist.
