Dr. Marjan Alvand came to United Stated from Tehran, Iran in 1987, where she resided in Long Island, New York. In 1988, after receiving her dental assisting certificate, and working with a prominent dentist as a dental assistant, she was strongly encouraged to become a dentist.
Her passion for the medical field and patient care drove her to continue her medical education with a degree in Nursing. After becoming a Registered Nurse, she worked in a variety of settings which included homecare nursing, care for medically compromised, cancer and AIDS patients. Then she continued working in hemodialysis, managing patients during critical times of dialysis.
Dr. Alvand later became an operating room nurse, assisting surgeons with complicated cases. In 1999, she moved to Raleigh, North Carolina and continued to work as a hemodialysis nurse. Dr. Alvand always felt drawn to with a desire to give people healthy smiles.
In 2002 she decided to take advantage of living in a State with a top-ranked Dental School and applied at UNC School of Dentistry. In 2006, she achieved her Doctorate in Dental Surgery from UNC. She continued her education with a residency at the VA Hospital in Fayetteville, NC. It was here she learned to treat comprehensive cases such as full mouth reconstruction, Root Canal Therapy and Implant Placement and Restoration.
Dr. Ahmadi was recognized as the valedictorian of his graduating class. He attended the University of North Carolina School of Dentistry and graduated with Honors with his Doctorate Degree in Dental Surgery in 2004.
Dr. Ahmadi gained experience by working in multidisciplinary Dental practices prior to establishing Capital Dental Care in 2007. Several years of associate-ship and employment in different dental settings and environments has gained him tremendous experience and helped him enjoy helping and managing multiple patients. His passion for science, art, and health care allows him to excel in the different areas of Dentistry such as operative, oral surgery, endodontic and pediatrics.
Dr. Ahmadi is passionate about Dentistry and enjoys giving patients a positive experience every day through patient comfort and gentle handed Dentistry. Dr. Ahmadi changed thousands of less than perfect patients experiences into positive ones by trying his best to provide comfortable and gentle care to adults and kids alike. Dr. Ahmadi enjoys staying up to date in the newest dental trends and technologies by attending Dental conferences and Continue Education courses as much as possible.

I love Capital Dental Care! Dr. Ahmadi and Dr. Alvand are wonderful providers and the staff is top notch. They take time to explain what to expect with your treatment. They recently took care of my family member that had a dental emergency out of town and they took the time to tell us what to do until we could get back and then worked us in as soon as we got home. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a friendly, gentle and professional dental experience!

This is hands down the best dental office in Raleigh! (There is one than one location, so this review is for the Louisburg Rd. location) From the front desk staff, hygienists, and dentists EVERYONE is so professional, kind, and down right hilariously funny! My three children are patients here and they always go ABOVE AND BEYOND to make them feel comfortable and safe while in the chair. One hygienist named Anna, (But goes by Banana) always has funny jokes, sings songs, and gives the BEST prizes after a cleaning! 10/10 would recommend!

(Louisburg Rd.location) Everybody polite and professional. Warm, inviting atmosphere. Waiting time less than 5 minutes. This time I had a routine teeth cleaning, X-ray, gum health check by the hygenist and general teeth checkup by Dr.Marjan Alvand. I trust both doctors (dr Alvand and dr Ahmadi) there. They all the time learn new skills and care for their patient, as well as their entire staff: hygenists, dental assistants, reception desk and the great biller -Ms.Monica, who always has time for the patients, explains all the billing and insurance details.Happy with the service as usual for the last 11 years :-) .

This is the only Dental office I've come to since i moved here to Raleigh in 2016. The Staff at the Louisburg rd location is AWESOME!! I have never had a problem, wouldn't change a thing

I don't recommend them they are not honest. Take care. If Anybody trusted them to treat your teeth I recommended before start with them take another opinion.

They said, no pain no gain! But today Dima the dental hygienist prove the opposite , because I gain very clean teeth with no pain and smooth touch. She is not the smartest & fastest dental hygienist only but she is also have a very professional skills & she have a great since of humor

They amazing, very professional, clean. they took very good care of me, tried to make me very comfortable and relaxed, asking me every time if I'm okay, they cleaned my teeth and removed one tooth I didn't feel stressed or scared usually I panic, OMG this place is the best from the nurses to the doctor.
