Dr. Christopher Banks was born in Virginia, and raised in West Virginia. He attended West Virginia University where he obtained his Doctorate of Dental Surgery (DDS), and completed his undergraduate studies in three years. While a student at the West Virginia University School of Dentistry, he was actively involved in many philanthropic organizations, including a service organization that led a trip to Guatemala to administer needed dental work in impoverished areas of the country.
Dr. Banks has focused his practice on cosmetic and restorative dentistry, and is committed to staying on top of the evolving dental field. He is a member of a number of dental organizations including:
Dr. Banks is committed to expanding his knowledge of dental practice and keeping up with the new strides that technology and research provide for oral health. In 2013, Dr. Banks was selected to serve on the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistrys Charitable Foundation Board of Trustees. In 2014, he was elected Chairman. Dr. Banks assists in the administration of the Academy and oversees the activities of its Give Back a Smile campaign, which is devoted to restoring the smiles and self-esteem of men and women who have suffered from domestic violence and sexual assault.
Patient Coordinator Katie Callahan is a Maryland native and considers herself lucky to have lived in Maryland, D.C. and Virginia. Prior to joining Capital Cosmetic Dentistry, Katie worked in real estate and non-profits. She interned for Adam Holloway MP in the British House of Commons.
Outside of the office, she enjoys photography, nature, and being at the beach. Katie is a PADI Divemaster who has taught scuba diving in Cabo San Lucas and the Yucatan Peninsula. Katie brings a friendly, cheerful attitude to the office and will always make you feel right at home at Capital Cosmetic Dentistry!

everyone associated with Capital Cosmetic Dentistry is efficient, friendly, professional. The office area is clean with modern equipment and lots of windows for natural lighting augmenting artificial lighting. Going to the dentist can be difficult and tension filled but, that is not the case at all at Capital cosmetic Dentistry. Dr. Christopher Banks and his professional associates remove the trepidation from the visit to the dentist. Highly recommended!!

As always Dr. Banks staff was personable and helpful. The hygienist was thorough and took the time to explain/demonstrate how I can improve my dental hygiene. My only knock is my head was left in an uncomfortable position for a bit and water was draining down my throat for an extended amount of time.

FOLKS PAY ATTENTION!!!! This is a great place to go take care of your teeth. Dr. Banks was very professional examining and providing with solutions by priority. I had a loose implant abutment screw and he did a great job. Afterwards I immediately changed my dentist to Dr. Banks at Capital Cosmetic Dentistry for my next periodontal root cleaning. Everyone from the dentist to the staff are very friendly. Big thanks to Kathie the front desk professional receptionist. I wish I had switched to them sooner. FOLKS!!! I have visited Dr. Christopher Banks for several procedures related to root canal treatment and he is a wonderful dentist. He does excellent work and is extremely personable and kind. I feel confident and my fears are assuaged the minute I enter the serene and friendly atmosphere of Dr. Banks's office, and am greeted by the very warm and efficient office manager, Katie. The whole team is friendly and they treat patients with consideration, gentleness and respect. I highly recommend Dr. Banks.
