As an adept medical practitioner and dentist, Dr. Ghassan Mehtar has helped patients achieve their oral health goals. He has been a licensed maxillofacial surgeon with his practice located in San Juan Capistrano, CA, since August 2000. As part of his work, he performs general cleaning and tooth extraction and adjusting tooth position for a prettier smile. He offers comprehensive dental services to his patients in a safe, comfortable and pleasant environment. Dr. Ghassan Mehtar is an implant instructor at California Implant Institute. He is a sincere believer in preventive and conservative dentistry and focuses on teaching his patients healthy habits, allowing them to be proud of their smiles.
He has earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from The University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), and did an implant course at Loma Linda University. He currently has over 200 regular patients and offers his services as part of an emergency dental practice.
Dr. Ghassan Mehtar loves to dedicate his time and effort to give back and improve the lives of those in our community. Over the years, he has supported a variety of charities, sports, and community causes.
When Dr. Ghassan Mehtar is not practicing dentistry or volunteering, he enjoys spending time with his wife and two sons, one in medical school and one in business. He also enjoys playing guitar, reading, and beekeeping in his free time.

So happy with my dentist office. Not only do my children come here but my self and my parents. I've been coming here for years. Very helpful staff. Very professional Dentist.

Honestly, this place started okay but it went south fast. Wisdom tooth surgery at 3:45, and they were finally done with me at 6:45. The surgeon only comes once a month, so I think he's not as practiced as surgeons who do the procedure every day. They don't knock you out, they don't have laughing gas. Just numb you up and you have to be awake and sober the whole time they break the teeth out of you. I was much more swollen than anyone I know, or anyone my girlfriend knows. Didn't even give me dissolvable stitches, I had to go back 9 days later and get them removed. So I get food stuck in the extraction sites now, and everyone I know asked me, "didnt they give you a syringe to help clean it out?" No. I wish I went anywhere else. Out of every way I could have gotten my teeth removed, I had the worst way. Never going here for anything dental related, ever.

Great service, Mehtar is the best dentist around! Quality bedside manner, amazing staff, and such a family friendly environment that it reminds me of my childhood in the best way possible. Who would of known that 20 years later - I get EXCITED to be taken care of here. I believe I just may have a follow up coming up but this place is where I will continue to go as long as the amazing quality continues! Great staff, amazing dentist, and dental assistants! I have been coming here since I was under 10 years old. Have had A LOT of work done here (I liked candy and sugars a LOT as a kid) lol. I'll be back for regular routine check ups and a follow up on a crown I had installed years ago

Had a procedure completed today, and my oh my and I SO happy to have my tooth fixed. Honestly, when my molar SHATTERED I had no idea where to go or who to call, considering at the time I had no dental! Well, low and behold I called my trusty handy dandy childhood dentist, and it was a quick blast into the past... In the BEST of ways! I was warmly greeted like a long lost relative (cuz I've been gone for years! Lol!) and received the best bedside manner from them ALL! There's no reason for me NOT to come back. My crown was so perfect I literally said 'dayummmmm' when I was looking at my smile. I will be back to address something I thought looked imperfect with my smile but other than that, they have done amazing. Superb work, quality team, and amazing customer service!

Rude. Doesn't like when asked questions. Weird-sometimes Mehvarzi is happy and talkative, other times curt and quiet. I'm sure to the ladies that work with him he's a real charmer (sarcasm). Not going back here.

Beware!!! I am so upset at the experience I had here. over a month ago I made an apt to fix a chipped tooth on one of my front teeth they notified me that I needed a root canal.(I told them several times I was in no pain at all) they told me they needed an authorization from my insurance that would take 4-6 weeks (no big deal) I told them I was just embarrassed about the appearance of my tooth. 4 weeks later I received a vm stating that my insurance has approved my root canal and call to make an apt. after I received the root canal then they tell me that my insurance doesn't cover a crown and that will be $1,200. at no time did they ever tell me anything about the crown not being covered. before I had the procedure I checked with my insurance and they cover an acrylic crown I told them about that and they notified me that they don't do acrylic crowns there I can call around and find someone. I would have found another dentist in the first place if I would have know they wouldn't be able to complete the procedure so now I have my front tooth drilled out even more then what I went in with and now i'm in a lot of pain and can't even eat comfortably. also they took about 6 xrays during the procedure and never put the led protective coat over me at all they made sure to walk out of the room tho. I would never recommend this place to anyone and I will be filing complaints everywhere possible. Very unprofessional
