As an orthodontist, I have the pleasure of meeting and working with wonderful families. Each patient is important to me. I like getting to know them on a personal level, enjoying their special talents, gifts, joys, and stories. Because orthodontic care usually takes several years, and I see patients about once a month, I really learn who they are. Sharing in their adventures, achievements, and life changes is an amazing benefit of being an orthodontist.
My goal is to provide each patient and thefamily with the highest quality of treatment experience. Not only do I want to help them achieve their most incredible smile, I want them to enjoy everything about the process. My team and I focus on a patients comfort:encouraging and supporting them as they make this positive change in their life.
Each year I complete many continuing education courses. Orthodontics is a changing specialty, with new techniques, materials, and technology. Im always looking to add to my clinical skills and knowledge. Continuing education allows me to learn from leading researchers and orthodontistsaround the country, and bring that information back to my patients. I strongly feel my team and I owe it to our profession and our patients to improve our knowledge constantly. This improves my patients treatment, care experience, and their finished smiles.
I support and volunteer with the Colorado Orthodontic Foundation at the Commerce Cityclinic. I also donate to local PTAs and support our local schools and their activities. Im a member of the Golden Chamber of Commerce, too.
A native of Pittsburgh, Icurrently reside in Arvadawith my husbandPaul, and daughtersSydney and Charley. Our family loves our time together. In the winter youll find us on the slopes. We all love skiing and doing it together. We also enjoy traveling and love Disneyland!

If you enjoy having unnecessary procedures done on you by a doctor who suggest avoiding infections by "praying" this is the place for you. Seriously, avoid at all cost. The oral surgeon is some guy who gets off on scaring patients and taking their money. He should be happy I haven't left a formal complaint with the Colorado Dental Board.

Dr Shearer made my son feel instantly comfortable. She explained exactly what needed to be done, his options and outcomes. Having had loads of orthodontic work in the past, I was very impressed with her demeanor, knowledge and that of her staff.

Everyone here is kind and professional. All of our needs were quickly addressed and we couldn't be happier with our choice in orthodontic doctor. Invisalign worked great and smile is beautiful.

I had 6 high-risk wisdom teeth extracted and after sitting with me for nearly 2 hours the surgeon and staff answered all of my questions and I walked away extremely confident in their ability. The operation went flawlessly and I am recovering as well as I could have hoped for. I just recently went back to visit the orthodontist to have a consultation regarding an Invisalign program.

These guys are amazing! They are super friendly, explain everything really well, and don't try to sell you on things you don't need. I would definitely recommend them!

I was pushed off walkimg in because the were on the phone 30 minutes later I got to fill out my paper work 15 minutes later I got my xrays at 2hrs still sitting here have seen anyone in over a hr

This place far exceeds my standards. Dr. Shearer is an intelligent, sweet, and cares deeply about each patient. She views each patient holistically; considering, all components of the presenting condition. She is more than willing to take payments and her prices are very reasonable. The office is beautiful and clean. I would highly highly recommend.

Wisdom tooth removal was a 5 star. I was a high risk case and walked away with zero issues and healed great! Dr.Madlock is a great surgeon. As for the Invisalign consultation...... I was very excited going into the appointment but during the consultation Dr. Shearer first talked about my individual "bad" teeth which had nothing to do about the straightening of my teeth. The appointment was interrupted twice by another worker. The most disturbing part of the whole thing was when the "dr." Walked out to look at x-rays for another patient and left me there for 10 mins, came back to finish my exam which only took 5 mins to finish. I had real high hopes going into this because I want my teeth fixed but definitely did not feel like a priority. The whole process was not explained well. Rubber bands, how they would work or be applied, different trays and how long each would last. Just poor. I did not feel good leaving her office. And the assistant seemed like I would have problems paying for the services. I could have payed in full right then and there.

Going into our first consultation we were very nervous. We have since found the staff at Canyon Point Orthodontics to be both patient and compassionate. My child is usually very shy and anxious in these types of situations, and now they actually look forward to appointments! This is probably because the staff takes the time to provide thorough explanations, and they just seem to genuinely care. As a parent, I feel that they identified exactly what was needed and developed a treatment plan that worked for us. I highly recommend!

My 8-year-old daughter needed a cross bite corrected, so we came to Dr. Shearer for evaluation and treatment. Her team is AMAZING. We were educated on our options and chose Invisalign. The treatment could not have been smoother. It provided full correction within a few months. The office was accommodating, friendly, and supportive throughout the process. 5 bright and shiny stars for Invisalign, Dr. Shearer, and her wonderful team!

Dr. Amy Shearer is the best. I have 4 children. My last child was the only one that went to Canyon Point Orthodontics. I wish I had known about Dr. Amy. She was hands down so much better than my experience with the other orthodontist.
