Dr. Thakkar received his bachelors degree in Computer Science from Chicago, Illinois in 2005. He then moved to Boston to attend Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. During his senior year of dental school, he was honored to serve the veterans at the VA hospital in Togus, Maine. He graduated from dental school in 2009 and had an opportunity to help the underserved population in the south of Chicago for two years. He finally deiced to move to Texas in 2011 because he fell in love with the warm weather and warm-hearted people of Texas.
Dr. Thakkar has been practicing dentistry for over seven years and is committed to keeping up with the latest advances in modern dentistry. He completes many times the required number of continuing education hours every year. He genuinely believes every patient should be treated as one of his family members. He is passionate about dentistry and loves helping his patients improve their smiles and quality of life. Dr. Thakkar is a member of the American Dental Association (ADA) and the Texas Dental Association. He enjoys spending time with his wife, Kelly, and son, Yash when he is away from doing dentistry.

I have been really impressed with this office. Did a great job on my crown and saw my son from college the same day. I highly recommend this office in our area. Thank you for such good service. Dr. Unger is awesome. Update 10/19/2022 - had a crown that came of and the fixed it in a matter of minutes. Great price and great dentist office. Will continue doing business and reference then as a dentist to use in Canyon Lake area.

Second trip in a week. This time for an extraction. Virtually painless and quick. Staff was once again friendly and professional. Was given a sheet with post op instructions that the assistant covered in detail. I followed it step by step and recovery over the next 24 hours was unremarkable with minimal discomfort. The young lady who does their insurance answered my questions about what to look for in a good insurance policy and phrases to watch for. Very friendly and professional staff.

They where supposed to CLEAN my teeth all they did was fill my cavities, they didn't brush or even floss my teeth, my teeth are still dirty, I would have done a better job brushing my teeth at home, and on top of that waited 45 minutes for them to spend 10mins doing nothing that they where actually supposed to do. VERY BAD DON'T GO HERE!! ITS NOT HARD TO CLEAN TEETH YET YALL STILL CAN'T DO IT RIGHT!!

I was one of their 1st customers/patients when they opened up in Canyon Lake. It is very nice to have a dentist so close to home and they helped me prior to seeing me when I had a bad toothache (started me on antibiotics) I guess waiting is the name of the game at any office nowadays, and it wasn't too bad. They gave me my dental plan and said they were trying to set up in house financing or something to help their patients with costly dental work. My insurance covers half which still gives me a big chunk to pay out of pocket. All of the staff were polite and friendly and answered my questions.
