After first earning her bachelors of science degree in biology from the University of North Texas, Dr. Sarah Cantrell went on to earn her doctor of dental surgery from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio in 2008. She's been helping young smiles shine brightly ever since! A resident of Wylie, TX, she first spent four years working at Dentistry For Children in Mesquite, TX, sharing her dedicated work with children and teenagers alike before forming Cantrell Family Dentistry alongside her husband, Dr. Jon Cantrell. She's a member of several celebrated dental organizations, such as the American Dental Association, the North Texas Dental Society, Texas Dental Association, and the Academy of General Dentistry.
As a children's general dentist first and foremost, Dr. Sarah loves that her job gives her the opportunity to help kids be excited and happy to come to the dentist instead of being afraid, effectively setting them on the path of optimal lifelong oral health. She also enjoys the unique and random qualities that children offer her, making every day different. She loves being able to laugh with them!
Dr. Sarah Cantrell is married to Dr. Jon Cantrell and they recently celebrated their 10th anniversary in May 2014. Their son, Colby was born in December 2012 and has kept them entertained and on their feet! They are enjoying this time watching him grow and learn new things every day! They have a dog named Frankie, a nine-year old dachshund, who they treat like their son as well! In her spare time, Dr. Sarah enjoys soccer, taking pictures, watching the Texas Rangers play, and anything that involves the outdoors. She and her husband enjoy volunteering in their free time for various mission organizations, providing much-needed dental services both locally and internationally.
Dr. Jonathan Cantrell first earned his bachelor's of science in biology from The University of North Texas before going on to earn his doctor of dental surgery from Baylor College of Dentistry in 2012. He knew right away that he wanted to have a dental practice of his own where he could work alongside his wife and help provide the people of his own community with dental health services and proper dental education. Therefore, he and his wife founded Cantrell Family Dentistry in March 2013. He is a member of the American Dental Association, the Texas Dental Association, North Texas Dental Society, and the American Academy of General Dentistry.
Besides simply loving the field of dentistry itself, Dr. Cantrell really enjoys having the opportunity to meet so many different people every day, as well as form solid, lasting relationships with patients from all walks of life.
After first meeting at North Texas and dating for four years, Dr. Jon Cantrell married Dr. Sarah Cantrell in May of 2004, and they welcomed their first child, Colby, who continues to brighten their lives every day, on December 21st, 2012. Dr. Cantrell loves watching him grow and learn and thoroughly enjoys the athleticism he is already exhibiting even at only 18 months old; what do you expect when his first word was Ball? When he's not working, Dr. Cantrell enjoys spending time with his family, cheering on the Texas Rangers, and participating in all sorts of outdoor activities, such as camping, hunting, fishing, hiking, and so much more!

Probably everyone dreads going to the dentist, but I have to say that the team at Cantrell Dentistry made the experience so painless I don't fear going back. From the front desk, the promptness I was seen, and the professionalism of my Hygienist Kelly, to Dr. Cantrell, it was a great experience. I never felt like just a number, but rather appreciated as a client! Amazing team!

Went for a consult on a broken tooth. First of all Alex helped me scheduling an appt in a rush as I was in pain. He was very informative and helpful and thorough with everything I needed before the appt and when I arrived. He was very easy to work with and polite. These days customer service seems to be a lost art but Alex has customer service skills above and beyond most of what I encounter these days. As for the consult, the assistant and dentist, Jonathan, were no less impressive than Alex. Very straight forward and easy to work with and thorough with their recommendation of what was needed. They took X-rays and did a visual assessment. There were no attempts to do unnecessary procedures or suggestive selling and no unexplained or hidden fees. They actually discounted my bill significantly, which I greatly appreciated. While they were unable to help me with my immediate issue they were very helpful on how to proceed and provided a referral. I can't use them for my current needs however I will return for any future dentistry issues when they arise and they will be my primary dentistry provider from now on. To all at Cantrell Family Dentistry thank you for your help and pleasant experience. Keep up the outstanding work.

Our family is still in awe of how God used Dr. Jon yesterday. We've been dealing with our son's broken front teeth for almost a month and when the bonding that his former pediatric dentist popped off after only a week, we knew we needed someone else's help. We went in for a simple evaluation and came out with new teeth. My son is back to eating without fear and his big smile is back because in his words, "these new teeth look so much better!" I'm switching our entire family over to Cantrell Family Dentistry. The entire staff has been so kind and helpful and treated us as though we had been there forever. A kind and good staff reflects its leadership so it is easy to see that the Cantrells are excellent leaders as well as excellent dentists.

I am new to the area and Dr Cantrell was recommended to me. I needed a broken crown replaced and the experience couldnt have been better! Everything was completed in one appt! Dr Cantrell and all his staff are friendly and wonderful. I highly reccomend them if you're looking for a dentist.

Me and my wife and son have been coming here for years, probably 10 years now. I've always been happy with how I've been treated. Recently I had a bit of a concern, just prior to Thanksgiving. I called to see about getting in to check things out and got the auto-attendant. I don't remember all the options, just that for what I needed, I was able to send them an email to describe what was going on, and that I was hopeful I would be able to make it to Monday without things getting worse, asking if I could book a slot early in the week. Things didn't get worse, and they were able to book me in early Monday. Checked my concerns, gave me peace of mind. I was a mix of happy that it worked out and a bit sheepish that I needed to ask at all.

I was recommended this location by my neighbor. Being able to find a place that can take care of myself and my kids needs in one location is so great. Not only is it convenient but the entire staff has been so great to work with. I highly recommend this place and I don't even like the thought of going to the dentist. However, no regrets coming here. Thank you to the entire staff.

The Cantrell dental family always provides excellent care & service. From the time you walk in until you walk out, they are friendly, helpful, answer your questions, etc. Dr. Cantrell is personable and takes the time needed to answer questions and explain anything you're concerned about or anything found during your exam. They do a super job cleaning & polishing your teeth. I would highly recommend them to anyone needing a great dentist & staff!!!

Dr. Jon is such an amazing dentist and just a good all around good man. He took such good care of me and i was able to get my crown in on the same day! Not being at the dentist for awhile and then going to Dr. Cantrell was one of the best decisions i made for myself. The staff was also very great and so friendly! Highly recommend!!

Dr. Jon Cantrell was my dentist for years while I lived in Dallas, but I've been in Denver for the last four years. I was recently visiting friends in Dallas for a week and one of my front tooth crowns cracked in half on my first day! Dr. Jon had me come in within a matter or hours and patched me up...I couldn't be more grateful. Even years after I moved away he still took great care of me. Can't recommend him and his wife enough.

I have been going to Cantrell Family Dentistry since moving to Wylie in 2017. I cannot say enough good things about them. Everyone on their staff is very friendly from the moment you enter their front door to the time you check out. I highly recommend Cantrell Family Dentistry.
