Dr. Canfield graduated from Indiana University School of Dentistry, with honors for high scores on the National Board Examinations. In 2002, he helped open Emergency Dental in Indianapolis, which was the pilot office for the office chain now known as Immediadent. The following year, Dr. Canfield opened his own practice, Southside Urgent Dental Care, which he sold in 2012. In 2013, Dr. Canfield opened Shelbyville Oral Surgery, and in 2014, he opened Canfield Dental Care, where he expanded his dental practice to include general dentistry.
Dr. Canfield enjoys growing and jarring tomatoes and peppers, taking care of his kids, and watching old Law and Order episodes with his wife, Kathy. He also coaches soccer for the Franklin Township Soccer Club.

I told him I was in more pain than I should be and thought I may have an infection. He simply said I didn't need antibiotics and nothing more. Now, 6 months later, the infection is still there and so is the hole in my face. I never had an access come through my face until I allowed him to work on me. Now I need to see an oral surgeon for this 6 month long infection thanks to an assumptive, uncaring dentist.

Called me the day of my appointment to tell me he wasn't going to be in the office that day I took off of my new job to have them cancel on me with very short notice

I waited for a few weeks after my final dentures were complete to do this. Dr.Canfield is absolutely amazing. I was completely terrified to go through with the procedure but overall I was dealing with way more pain than anything that I experienced throughout the process. You completely changed my life Dr.Canfield and gave me back a smile I hid for over 20 years. Thank you to you and your incredible staff.

Canfield Dental Care is fabulous. Dr. Canfield is a caring, gentle dentist. Always is up front with you, makes you feel comfortable and educates you on any procedure. His staff is no different. Very friendly, very caring, and very knowledgeable. I am so glad we are a part of their patient family. I highly recommend Canfield Dental Care.

I had a broken/erupted wisdom tooth. I've had one other tooth pulled by another dentist and it took them forever to get me numb and pull the tooth out. Dr. Canfield was able to get me numb right away and it took him maybe two minutes to pull my tooth out. I felt no pain or pressure at all. This was a great experience and I highly recommend dr. Canfield.

Great staff was very nervous today and they put not only me but my wife also at ease. Was having several teeth removed and jawbone smoothed in preparation for dentures. First IV that was ever put in me that did not hurt the nurses were great during the process and to say it simply the Doctor is incredible. He is very personable and talks you through everything, his professionalism is above any I have seen and the work he does is of the highest quality. All I can say is thanks to Dr. Canfield and his entire staff. If you need a dentist he is the man to go to.

During any procedures he makes sure you are comfortable and has a very professional and soothing demeanor. Everyone on his staff is exceptional. Erica has done some of the procedures and is on the same level as Dr. Canfield. I wish I knew the names of some of the other staff members so I could call them out by name, but be assured they are all first rate. I would highly recommend Dr. Canfield and his practice.
